She was born on J une 26, 1920 in St. John daughter of the late Peter and Rose Margaret (Mei er) Thiel. She married Sylvester Berchem on October 30, 1945 at St. John C atholic Church in St John. They lived in Brillion from 1945-1951. In Augu st of 1951 she moved to their farm on Faro Springs Road where she and h er husband lived and farmed for 53 years.She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert, a member of the C hristian Mothers for over 50 years, the Chilton Mission Society, taught C CD for 21 years, and a member of the Catholic Rural Life Organization. S he also volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul in Hilbert, was a foster paren t, an avid gardener, loved farming, chickens, quilting, and embroidery, w as a wonderful cook and most of all loved her children and grandchildre n, and through it all it always seemed she lived for her favorite holid ay Christmas.She is survived by her husband Sylvester of Hilbert; two children: Rose Ma ry (Gary) Schaefer of Hilbert, and Keith (Barbara) Berchem of Hilbert; eig ht grandchildren: Vicki (Jason) Csida of Paris, TX; Christine Berchem a nd special friend Peter B.     Esther M. Martin, age 87, of Menasha, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah. She was born on February 14, 1922, in St. John, WI, daughter of the late Peter and Rose (Meier) Thiel. Esther was united in marriage to Kenneth Edward Martin on May 30, 1951, in St. John, WI. She was employed with Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Zwickers Knitting Mill until her retirement in 1984.
    Esther was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. She was a happy homemaker, who loved to do needle work and enjoyed gardening.
    Esther will be missed by her loving children: Richard (Suzanne) Martin, Madison; Mary Kay Larschied, Middleton; and Thomas (Susan) Martin, Greenville; five grandchildren: Kari and Jessica Martin, Madison; Jeffrey Larschied, Middleton; Chad Martin, Town of Menasha; and Cory Martin, Greenville; one great-grandson, Jayden Raymond; two sisters: Eleanore Thiel, Chilton; and Sister Rosilda Thiel, Fond du Lac.
    Esther is further survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Schwabenlander, New Franken; and two sisters-in-law: Francis Thiel, Brillion; and Mary Lou Thiel, Sherwood.
    Esther was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth; two sisters: Lillian Berchem, Armilla Schwabenlander; two brothers: Ermin Thiel and Ronald Thiel; a brother-in-law, Sylvester Berchem; a son-in-law, George Larschied, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Kolasinsky.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Visitation, where family and friends will be received will be held on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

    Obituary:
    Sister Rosilda (Alvera) Thiel, CSA, (83) died Friday morning, June 17, 2011, in St. Francis Home where she resided. Alvera Cyrilla Thiel was born on May 9, 1928, in St. John's (Hilbert), Wisconsin, the sixth of seven children born to Peter and Rose Thiel. She, her four older sisters and two brothers attended St. John's School. Alvera entered the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes in 1947. There she attended St. Agnes High School and professed first vows in 1952, receiving the name Sister Rosilda.
    Sister Rosilda began ministry in the dietary departments of Marian College and St. Agnes Hospital. After completing a bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota, in 1956, she served a one-year dietetic internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. For the next thirty-two years Sister was the Dietary/Food Service Director in hospitals and institutions in Kansas and Wisconsin. After a sabbatical and training in Parish Service in the late eighties, Sister Rosilda began eighteen years of parish service at St. Albert the Great Parish in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She retired to Nazareth Court/ Center in 2008. For the last year, she has resided in St. Francis Home.
    Preceding Sister Rosilda in death were her parents: Peter and Rose (Meier) Thiel; two brothers: Ermin and Ronald; and three sisters: Esther Martin, Lillian Berchem and Armella Swabenlander. She is survived by her sister, Eleanore Thiel of Chilton, Wisconsin; loving nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of St. Agnes, with whom she lived, prayed and ministered.
    Visitation for Sister Rosilda will be held Tuesday, June 21, from 2 till 6:15 p.m., at Nazareth Court and Center, 375 Gillett St., Fond du Lac. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac. Father Ken Smits, OFM Cap will preside. Burial will take place at a later date in St. John's (Hilbert). Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Agnes Development Office, 320 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
    The Sisters of St. Agnes are grateful to the nurses and staff of St. Francis Home and Nazareth Court and Center for their care of Sister Rosilda in her retirement years and to the staff of Hospice Hope for their support in these last months.

    Obituary:
    Chad Thomas Martin, age 29 passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2013. He was born in Neenah, on July 13, 1984 the son of Tom and Sue (Hoffman) Martin. Chad graduated from Hortonville High School in 2003 and was currently working for Ariens in Brillion. Chad enjoyed wake boarding and golfing in the Summer and downhill skiing in the Winter.
    Chad is survived by his parents, Tom and Sue of Greenville, loving brother Cory Martin of Neenah, aunts and uncles: Helen Knuijt, Tom and Barb Pottner, Carol Hoffman, Dolly Hoffman, Mary Lou and Bob Grapentin, Richard and Suzanne Martin and Godmother Mary Larscheid. He is further survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends. Chad is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Josephine Hoffman, paternal grandparents, Ken and Esther Martin, and seven uncles: Jim Knuijt, Bob, Chuck, Fred, Dick and Tom Hoffman, and George Larscheid.
    Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha; with Deacon Richard Martin officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Town of Menasha.
