I we nt to the Newberg library and looked at the Oregon Death Index on microfi lm and there was a Arthur Stewart who died September 16, 1970. I looked th rough the Newberg Graphic for an obituary and found nothing. I then we nt to the McMinnville library, looked through the News-Register for an obi tuary and found nothing. I went through cemetery records, marriage recor ds and a few other books and found nothing. I went to city hall to fi nd a death record but they don't keep them there. Below is the informati on that he gave me. If you check at RAOGK.com and look for someone in t he Multnomah County section they might be able to get the information f or you.

wrote:Sheri, I'll take you up on that offer of a lo okup. I have a "Brick Wall" with my Mary (Powers) Patterson family. I have atta ched a report with all my notes for your reference. I have been unable to track down her children or their families. Her only grandchild that I know of, is an Arthur Stewart, who was born ab out 1920 in Portland, (most likely) Oregon. They are listed as living in Tacoma, Washington in the <1930 Census Description>ED Page <1930 Census Date>1930<1930 Census Place> <1930 Census Notes>, and M ary (Powers) Patterson died in Washington in 1937. But, there is an Arthur Stewart who died in Yamhill County in 1970, a nd if you could check out his death certificate and let me know if he mig ht be related. (I figure I might have to go through the process of elimina tion in order to find him) Thanks so much, Jay

    Obituary:
Eugene resident Arthur C. Stewart passed away among family June 3rd, 2015 at the age of 95.
Mr. Stewart was born in 1920 in Portland, Oregon to Harry E. Stewart and Harriet Patterson Stewart. His parents later divorced and he was raised by his mother.
Adventurous by nature from a young age, Art never tired of telling about living in East Portland, taking the street car all the way to Washington Park, playing until nightfall and then taking the street car all the way home on NE 59th street. This wild streak would be reflected many times throughout Art's life, whether it be in his military service during World War II, his love of both hunting and fishing, riding his motorcycle, snowbirding or his love of flying.
Art was a union-man, spending his entire career as a knife-sharpener at Rosboro Lumber Company.
He was a bachelor well in to his thirties when he met his match in Marian Verrell, married and had twin daughters.
The Stewarts lived in Eugene throughout their 61 years of marriage. They belonged to the Eagles and were founding members of Asbury Methodist Church.
Art is survived by his wife Marian; their twin daughters, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arthur married Verrell, Marion [Group Sheet]
