    Evelyn McHugh, age 99, of Appleton, passed away with her family by her side on March 8, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee. She was born January 3, 1909, in Shiocton, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Cummings) Strong. Evelyn was united in marriage to John A. McHugh on January 7, 1927, at St. Mary's Church, sharing 56 years together before his death on October 11, 1983. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Evelyn, an avid reader, also enjoyed music, dance, and art. As an enthusiastic supporter she was involved in whatever activity her children and grandchildren ventured. She was a compassionate mentor for her cherished family. Evelyn was a woman with selfless dedication to her family who gave until there was nothing left to give.
    Survivors include five children: Mary E. Klein (Mrs. Richard G. Klein) of Appleton their children; Randall J. Klein, Two Rivers; Marcia A. Klein and Lisa A. Stage of Appleton. Aloysius "Bud" McHugh (Amy), Town of Center their children; John (Cindy) McHugh, Black Creek and Diane (Ned) Bishop Neenah. Thomas and Audrey McHugh, Appleton their children; Tim McHugh, Menasha, Mary (Gary) Ludwig, Darboy, Brian (Mary) McHugh, Greenville, Colleen (Vern) McHugh-Moore, Pewaukee, Kelly McHugh, Green Bay. Dan McHugh (fiance' Mary), Appleton his children; Dan (Lisa) McHugh, Marshfield, Shawn (Kelly) McHugh, Shawano, Casey (Andrea) McHugh, Appleton and Ellie McHugh-Young, Green Bay.     In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two adopted children, niece Eileen Babino-Babb, Gerald Babino and a grandchild Richard McHugh.
    A service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 14th, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of the services. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton.

    Mary E. (Mc Hugh) Klein, age 89, of Appleton, passed away March 30, 2017 at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. Mary was born January 19, 1928 in Appleton, the daughter of the late John A. and Evelyn (Strong) Mc Hugh. She was a graduate of Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, receiving a Bachelor's Degree and life teaching license. Mary furthered her education by obtaining a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and completed studies for a Doc. Degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
    She was united in marriage to Richard G. Klein on June 9, 1950 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton sharing 55 years of marriage together until his passing August 17, 2005. Mary began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher at Nicolet Elementary School in Kaukauna, and after following her husband's career to Manitowoc taught at Holy Innocents School. Mary had a long teaching career with the Mishicot School and University of Wisconsin systems. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, WEA and NEA. She was a leader for both Cub and Girl Scouts. Mary enjoyed many years with Dick spending time at their home in Lake Tomahawk and running their business Kleiner Traum Gift and Gallery in Minocqua.
    Mary is survived by a son Randall J. (Kim Pollard) Klein, Two Rivers; daughters Marcia A. Klein and Lisa A. Stage of Appleton; a brother Thomas (Audrey) Mc Hugh of Appleton; two grandsons: Eric (Nicholette) Kolar, Manitowoc, and Christopher (Jana) Kolar of Green Bay. Mary is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her sister Eileen (Willis) Babb; brothers: Aloysius (Amy) Mc Hugh, Ralph (Kathy) Mc Hugh, Daniel Mc Hugh, and Gerald Babino, and brother and sister-in-law Nick and Carol Klein of Appleton.
    A memorial service will take place at 6 pm on Friday, May 12 at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends and relatives may visit at the funeral chapel on Friday from 4 pm until the time of service.
    The Klein Family would like to express special appreciation and gratitude to Linda Ebben, Sandra Cady, and Cindy Jackson for their loving and compassionate care of mom allowing her to remain with her family at home.

    Aloysius F. Mc Hugh
    "Al", 83, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Christmas day at Cherry Meadows. Al was born on April 17, 1929 in Appleton to the late John and Evelyn (Strong) Mc Hugh. He served in the United States Army fortunately during peacetime. He married Amy Pommerenke on June 26, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1995. He worked for Kimberly Clark and owned and operated an Excavating Business with his friend, Arden Peterson. Al enjoyed hunting, raising horses and mules and fishing with his friends, especially his buddy, Ken Van Handel.
    Al was an outgoing man, full of life and spirit and will be greatly missed by his two children: Diane (Edward) Bishop and John (Cindy) Mc Hugh; sister, Mary (Richard) Klein; brothers: Ralph (Kathy) Mc Hugh, Tom (Audrey) Mc Hugh and Dan Mc Hugh; sister-in-law, Alice (Morey) Locklin; many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amy; and Eileen and Willis Babb.
    A Celebration of Al's life will take place at 10:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Star of Hope Chapel in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
    The family extends their gratitude to Al's good friend, Steve Brooks, and his special friend, Mary Marquardt for their wonderful care and devoted friendship to Al. The family also wishes to thank the caregivers at ThedaCare Hospice and Cherry Meadows.
