Smits, Catherine M. "Katy" - Catherine M. "Katy" Smits, 82, Green Bay, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. She was born on Feb. 10, 1925, to John and Flora (Vickman) Van Loo. On Nov. 25, 1945, she married William Bruss who preceded her in death. She then married John Van Larrhoven who preceded her in death. Her third husband, Theodore Smits, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Diana Sell; Norman Bruss; Charles and Cynthia Bruss; Linda and Thomas Bielefeldt; nine grandchildren, Steve (Amy) Sell, Connie Sell, Robert (Anne) Sell, Dana Lowe, Tara Tank, Beth (Steve) Scarson, Becky Bruss, Lisa (Patrick) Joyce, Erin Rose; 18 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Don Collard.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wallace Sell; two sisters, Lena Hogseth and Bernice Huntington; two brothers, John and Henry Van Loo.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Deacon Robert Nooker officiating. Evelyn Evie M. Collard, 76, Green Bay, went to be with her husband, Donald, in heaven on Tuesday evening, October 4, 2011, while her family was at her side at a local hospital. Born on September 21, 1935, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late John and Flora (Vickman) Van Loo. Evie married Donald R. Collard on June 18, 1954, at SS. Peter and Paul Church and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2008. She was employed for many years at Lindemans Cleaning. Evie was a member of St. Willebrord Parish. She will be remembered for her time spent at the casinos and her love of the Packers. She is survived by six children and their spouses, Craig and Andrea of Bellevue, Kevin and Beth of Kaukauna, Kathy Bardouche of Green Bay, Ron and Michelle of Appleton, Lynne and Dave Duddek of Abrams, Tom and Debby of Allouez; grandchildren, Cory (Anya) Collard and Troy Collard, Molly, Amy and Ashley Collard, Heather and Sean Wuethrich, Sean (Jamie) Bardouche, Curt Bardouche, Nicole and Victoria Collard, Josh and Chris Duddek, Jeremiah and Justin Paradise, and Samantha Collard; great -grandchildren, Reece, Logan and Jewel Rose; brother-in-law, Dean (Joanne) Collard of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Joan Hafeman ; other family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; many brothers and sisters.
