    At age 98, the Lord took Evelyn peacefully home, Wednesday, March 16, 2011, with her loving family at her side. The daughter of the late Theodore and Bardeen (Vande Hei) Coenen was born July 10, 1912, in Wrightstown. Evelyn married Adrian Meulemans on October 8, 1934, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown, and they had 56 beautiful years of marriage; he preceded her in death in 1991. Evelyn was a lifetime and faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a former member of the Christian Mothers Society. She and Adrian farmed side-by-side all their married life on the Meulemans family farm. She worked hard yet was always ready for a good time with family and friends. She loved baking and enjoyed sharing her treats with everyone. Evelyn also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but family was her top priority.
    She will be deeply missed by three daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Russ Titel, Wrightstown; Sandy and Lloyd Gehring, Freedom; Sherry and Ron Demske, Greenleaf; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Dolly Meulemans, Pete and Linn Meulemans, all of the Town of Wrightstown; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law: Marguerite Coenen and Rita Schampers.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte; her son, Bruce in 1972; son-in-law, Robert Schmelter in 1979; six sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha (Harold) Ehnerd, Minnie (Vernon) Despins, Estelle (Ralph) Smith, Irene (Fred) Geurts, Clara (Leo) Berken Hendricks, and Ruth (Gordon) Wierschke; three brothers: Harold (Charlotte), Fred and Earl Coenen. On the Meulemans side, she was preceded in death by nine sisters-in-law and ten brothers-in-law.
    Friends may call Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul site, Wrightstown. Funeral Mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at church, with Fr. Carl Meulemans officiating. DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family.

    Ruth T. "Tootie" Wierschke (Mrs. Gordon) Age 82, passed away peacefully as she slept, early Monday morning, Apr il 2, 2001, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born October 1 5, 1918, in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Theodore and Bardeen (V an De Hey) Coenen. On June 14, 1941, she married Gordon Wierschke. Ruth w as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna, and the Altar Societ y. She was always active in church functions. She was employed at Kimberly -Clark for two years prior to joining Gordon in Florida, where he was stat ioned in the Army in 1941. She then went on to enjoy many years as a lovi ng and caring mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She busily created ma ny beautiful crocheted afghans, doilies, and bedspreads for her childre n, grandchildren, and friends. She was always there and enjoyed helping ev eryone. She loved baking goodies and sharing them with family and friend s. Tootie always had that special smile and twinkle in her eye for those w hose lives she touched. She always enjoyed gardening and time spent at t he cottage.

    Catherine "Katie" M. Haen, 96, Wrightstown, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010. She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in De Pere, daughter to the late John and Louisa (Titulaer) Coenen. She married Peter Haen on May 10, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere, and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, where she was active in the Ladies Society, Golden Agers, and also belonged to the Green Bay Square Dance Club, and was a volunteer driver for the Commission on Aging. Catherine liked gambling, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
    She will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Mike Geurts, De Pere; two grandchildren, Doug Geurts, De Pere; and Michelle (Todd) West, Suamico; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremy, and Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Esther (Corneil) Peeters, Agnes (Robert) Hannon, Helen (Larry) Rentmeester, and Dorothy Coenen; two special Godchildren, Larry Peeters and Bruce Rentmeester.
    Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 16, 2010, from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at church, with Fr.     Helen Elizabeth (Coenen) Rentmeester, 83, Allouez, died peacefully Thursda y, Feb. 12, 2004, at Bishop's Court. Helen was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Rockl and to the late John W. and Louise (Titulaer) Coenen. Helen devoted her li fe to her God, her husband and her family. Her words of kindness and w ay of gentleness granted much serenity and stability to her family in go od times and in bad. She was a rock on which her children, grandchildre n, friends and extended family came to depend when they needed advice, she lter or prayer. Even those who knew her only in her final months came to a ppreciate her gentle ways. At the end, she died as she lived; quietly, gen tly and peacefully.     Sister Evelyn Pansier, 100, of the Sisters of our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd, returned to God on Jan. 30, 2015. Sister was born in DePere on April 5, 1914, the daughter of the late Peter and Henrietta (Coenen) Pansier.
    Sister Evelyn entered The Sisters of Our Lady of Charity in 1942 and served the community in different capacities, chiefly in the educational department of the agency for the Sisters' Residential Center for Adolescents. She was director of a program for Cuban refugees and director of Ri Residence, a program for retired women. Sister served on the Sisters' Council and as a member of the Eudes Operational Board.
    Having graduated from St. Norbert College, Sister earned her Master's Degree in Buffalo, New York.
    In her latter years, Sister Evelyn taught art to adults who longed to express their artistic talent long hidden by various life commitments. She also volunteered to help students pursuing academic courses.
    Sister Evelyn is survived by one sister, Frances Van Da Huvel, one brother, Ray Pansier, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Wilfred (Fern) Pansier, Walter (Pearl) Pansier, Jim (Marie) Pansier and Winifred who died in his infancy. She is further preceded by her sister-in-law Helen Pansier, two nephews, Wayne (Pat) Pansier and Bob Aerts, and a dearly loved aunt, Mary Coenen.

    Frances Van Da Huvel, 98, died peacefully February 23, 2015. The daughter of Peter and Henrietta (Coenen) Pansier was born July 31, 1916 in the Town of De Pere. Her father Peter, at the age of six, immigrated from Holland in 1881 with his parents. Her mother, Henrietta, was the granddaughter of Theodore Coenen who came with the first migration of Dutch to Brown County in 1848.
    The fifth of seven children, Frances was raised on the family farm, which continues to be operated by her nephews.
    Frances graduated from De Pere High School in 1934 having received several awards for her secretarial courses. In her working career she was employed by Northeast Co-op, East Side Chevrolet in Milwaukee, and Franken's Drug Store. From 1965 to 1983 she was the secretary for the Social Work Department at the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. She then retired to a new position at St. Francis Xavier Parish in De Pere working as the parish bookkeeper and secretary, retiring two weeks before her eighty-seventh birthday in 2003. She was a member of the Brown County Historical Society and a charter member of the Our Lady of Charity Guild.
    On June 14, 1947 she married Milton Van Da Huvel, they later divorced.
    Her main focus in life was her children and grandchildren. She strove to support her children in their educational endeavors, at which she was a great success.
    A woman of great character Frances was always interested in world affairs and democracy. She was known for her great smile, wit and sense of humor. In her retirement she enjoyed oil painting with her sister, Sister Evelyn Pansier and a niece. She loved her flower gardens and playing cards with family members. She took her first Harley ride in 1942 and her last 45 mile ride at age 94.
    She is survived by her four children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: daughter Mary Jane Herber; son Kelly (Trudy) Van Da Huvel, their son Nathan; daughter Jo Anne Aerts, her daughters, Stephanie (Andrew) Schlag, Christina (Christopher) Peeters and daughter Kenzie, Abigail (Gregory) Potts, and son Logan and daughter Miley; Dr. Scott Van Da Huvel and his wife Karen Christen. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Pansier and fourteen nieces including god-daughters Beverly Berken and Kathleen Moenssens and six nephews and their spouses.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Hattie, son-in-law Robert Aerts, her sister Sister Evelyn Pansier, brothers and their spouses Wilfred (Fern), Walter (Pearl), James (Marie), sister-in-law Helen Pansier, and a nephew Wayne Pansier. An infant brother Winifred also preceded her in death.

    Age 62, died Monday, February 25, 1985, following a one year illness. She was born July 23, 1922 in Kaukauna. She was a life long resident. Mrs. Schmitt was a member of St. Mary Cathoic Church and the Altar Society.     Patricia "Pat" Verhagen, nee Ehnerd, went to be reunited with her husband, Donald Verhagen, on January 7, 2015, in Auburndale, Florida. She was born on March 18, 1937, in Wrightstown, WI to the late Harold & Martha Ehnerd. Pat graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1955 and married Don on June 13, 1956, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown.
    Don passed away April 4, 1982, and at that time Pat drove bus for 25 years, owning the Wrightstown Bus Company. Later she worked 15 years at Kohl's Department Store and also Seroogy's. She enjoyed bowling, all sports and knitting afghans. Pat moved to Florida in 2001.
    Survivors include her son, Gregory (Sue) Verhagen, Wrightstown; daughter, Peggy (Eric) Sasloff, Florida; two grandsons: Jeremy and Eric (Amanda); a granddaughter, Chelsea; a great-grand daughter Karlee; sisters-in-law: Virginia, Anne, Ann, Mary and Jeanette Van Deurzen; and many nieces and nephews.
    Preceeding Pat in death are her mother, father, husband, and brothers: Edward, Lloyd, Glenn, Pete & Robert.

    Ehnerd, Robert Paul (Bob)Robert Paul (Bob) Ehnerd passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004 at his ho me after a six-year battle with congestive heart failure. Bob was born Sep t. 24, 1938 to the late Harold and Martha (Coenen) Ehnerd. He was a lifelo ng resident of Wrightstown, moving only recently to De Pere. Bob married M ary J. McCormick on Sept. 13, 1958 in Wrightstown.He worked for the Bro wn County Highway Commission for 23 years. He and his family developed Hap py Hollow Campgrounds (now Apple Creek Family Campgrounds). In 1983, he be came a horse harness maker, after studying with an Amish craftsman. He add ed cart and wagon making to his business and further developed Marbo Man or Carriage Service. His carriage could often be seen on Friday and Saturd ay nights in downtown Green Bay during the late eighties and early ninetie s. During the late eighties, Marbo Manor Carriage Service worked at Gracel and, Elvis Presley’s home, in Memphis, Tenn., for the Christmas Season inc luding the days until Elvis’s birthday in January. Bob loved horses, on t he hoof and under the hood. After retiring he found a 1958 Chevrolet Impa la and his good friend, Mike Roffers, did a beautiful job of bringing t he car back to its original beauty. Bob attended many car shows and receiv ed much acclaim. He often remarked that in 1958 he wanted a Chevrolet Impa la and he also wanted to get married. He couldn’t afford both, so he cho se the girl. It took almost 40 years to get the car! Bob was a member of t he Holy Name Society and St. Paul Parish in Wrightstown.Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary; two sons, Daniel J. (Joann e) of De Pere and David J. (Helen) of Wrightstown; five grandchildren: Zac hary, Dylan and Maddison Ehnerd and Jason and Casey Hendricks.     Beatrice M. (Geurts) Anthony, age 74, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012. Bee was born October 20, 1937 to the late Fred and Irene (Coenen) Geurts. Bee loved to enjoy weekends up north around the fire, spend time with her grandchildren and children, and tend to her beautiful roses.     Richard J. Geurts, Kaukauna, 68, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, with his family by his side after a long struggle with heart disease. Dick was born on May 27, 1941, to the late Fred and Irene (Coenen) Geurts. Dick loved to fish, hunt, play cards and get together with his friends for their morning coffee. He married Dianne Schaetz on Sept. 5, 1963, at St. Nicholas Church in Freedom. Dick worked with Badger Northland, Kaukauna for 37 years retiring in 1996.
    Survivors include his beloved wife, Dianne; his loving children and grandchildren, Rick (Joanna) Geurts and his children, Connor and Tristan, Tucson, Ariz.; Connie (Ken) Zirbel and their children, Chad, Maxwell, Cole and Abby, Kaukauna; Rob Geurts and his children, Bailey and Brianna, Kaukauna; and Roy (Sun hyung) Geurts, Madison, four step-grandchildren, Joe, Michael, Andrew, Maura McDonough, Tucson; six sisters, Arlene (Floyd) Huss, Beatrice, Anthony, Bonnie (Ronald) Schmidt, all of Kaukauna; Mary (Marvin) Van Asten, Freedom; JoAnn (Al) Lauterborn, Suring; and Judy (Dennis) Brockman, Cecil; three brothers, James (Robin), Kaukauna; Marlin (Vicky), Appleton; and Dan (Mary), Wrightstown; sister-in-law, Ardene Welhouse; mother-in-law, Ellen Schaetz; four brothers-in-law, Dennis, Darold, Steve (Tammy) and Joe Schaetz; and by three sisters-in-law, Joy (Dan) Rickert, Kari (Dale Liebergen) and Kathy (John) Igoe.

    A Mass of Christian Burial for Dick will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 County Rd. S, Freedom with Fr. Dave Hoffman officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will take place in the church's cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.

    JoAnn Marie Lauterborn age 70 of Suring, WI (Chute Pond) passed away at home on Monday, October 27, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Wrightstown, on October 28, 1943, to the late Fred and Irene (Coenen) Geurts. JoAnn married Gerald Skalmusky in 1964 and had 3 loving children, Tara (Brian) Schuh, Trisha Skalmusky and Todd (Eva) Skalmusky and later 5 wonderful grandchildren, Alana, and Kyle Schuh, Johnathon and Madison Skalmusky and Sydney Skalmusky.
    JoAnn later married Allan T. Lauterborn in 1982 and shared 32 memorable years with his 3 children, Jack (Jubilee) Lauterborn, Jill Lauterborn, Bonnie Lauterborn and 2 step-grandchildren, Madison and Drew Lauterborn.
    She was always a hard working woman. First for Dr. Simon Cherkasky for 10 years, then 38 years as Regional Sales Manager at Kaukauna Club Cheese. She then retired at Chute Pond, where she also sold Real Estate and spent many hours on the pontoon boat with family and friends. She fought a hard battle to keep that huge heart beating but finally gave in to dance with the angels.
    JoAnn was an active member of the Red Hatters, Chute Pond Snowmobile Club and the Chute Lake District and the Mountain Area Business Association. JoAnn was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
    JoAnn is survived by 3 brothers, Bud (Vicki) Geurts, Dan (Mary) Geurts and Jim (Robin) Geurts; 4 sisters, Arlene (Floyd) Huss, Mary (Marv) VanAsten, Bonnie (Ron) Schmidt and Judy (Dennis) Brockman.
    She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roland Geurts, Richard Geurts and Jack Geurts; 2 sisters, Shirley Ambroisous and Bee Anthony.
    Visitation will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church Chapel at Chute Pond on Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Deacon William Doran officiating. A celebration of JoAnn's life will follow at the Everbreeze Resort on Chute Pond. On Sunday, November 2, 2014, there will be a celebration of JoAnn's life at Noon in Kaukauna at Cash and Willies (Old Hyland House) at 701 Hyland Avenue Kaukauna, WI.     Marlin "Bud" George Geurts, 68, of Appleton passed away Wednesday January 11, 2017. He was born January 14, 1948 in Wrightstown, son of the late Fred and Irene (Coenen) Geurts. Bud married Vickie Klenke on October 30, 1982.
    Bud served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Bronze Star Medal. Bud enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also enjoyed cooking with his smoker, and making his Booyah Soup for friends and family. His greatest enjoyment came from his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
    Bud is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Vickie; his five children: Scott (fiancée, Julie Conradt), Tracey (fiancé, Randy Zyduck), Michael (Amanda), Luke (fiancée, Katie Neubauer), and Alisa Geurts; five grandchildren: Gavin, Ethen, Brandon, Brody, and Halley; two brothers: Dan (Mary) and Jim (Robin) Geurts; and four sisters: Arlene (Floyd Huss), Mary (Marv) VanAsten, Bonnie (Ron) Schmidt, and Judy (Dennis) Brockman. Bud is further preceded in death by three brothers: Roland, Richard and Jack Geurts; and three sisters: JoAnn Lauterborn, Shirley Ambroisous and Bee Anthony.
    In keeping with Bud's wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

    Peter "Pete" A. Meulemans, 63, Wrightstown, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 3, 2011. Pete was born on January 3, 1948, to Adrian and Evelyn (Coenen) Meulemans in Wrightstown. He grew up in a farming family and continued to do what he loved most, farming, until he died still on the family farm where he was born and raised. Besides farming, Pete was an avid sports fan. He was a big Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan, but he always had a special place for the Colts because he was such a Johnny Unitas fan. He was a Wrightstown Tigers fan when his children participated in sports, especially wrestling.
    Pete is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linn (DeCoster) Meulemans; sons: Jason, Gastonia, NC, Jody (Sara) and their children, Chloe, Grant, Ella, and Saylor of Freedom; Jeremy (Kacy) and their children: Skyler, Jordan and Paityn of De Pere; Janelle (Nathan Sprangers) and soon to be grandchild, Wrightstown; Joel (Stephanie) and soon to be grandchild, Greenville; and Jill, Wrightstown. Also surviving is one brother, Dale (Dolly) Meulemans, and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Nancy (Russ) Titel, Sandy (Lloyd) Gehring and Sherry (Ron Demske). Linn's family: mother and father-in-law, Norbert and Ruth DeCoster, Little Chute, and brother, Jim (Lyn) DeCoster, Black Creek; and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Evelyn Meulemans; a brother, Bruce; an infant sister, Charlotte; and a brother-in-law, Bob Schmelter.

    Donald R. Coenen, 78 years, of Clintonville, Wisconsin, passed away September 7, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton. He was born September 19, 1938 to his parents Raphael "Ray" W. F. and Ruby M. (Fuss) Coenen in DePere, WI. He was a graduate of Hortonville High School, Class of 1956. Donald and Joann M. (Krull) Coenen were united in marriage on November 8, 1958 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Don and Joann were owners of True Value Hardware stores located first in Manawa then in Wittenberg. Don was a dedicated husband, father and brother. Don used his boyhood knowledge of farming to produce his own organic gardens and was especially proud to deliver vegetables to "his teachers" at Highlands/Odyssey Elementary where he was known as the "Veggie Man". He produced raspberries, tomatoes, and vegetables accepting donations to get his gas money for travelling to and from Frostproof, Florida, his winter home. Don's interests also included hobby piloting and tinkering on his tractors.
    Don will be missed by Natalie Noonan and his four children: Diane (Howard) Wachsmuth, Mishicot; Cheryl (Duane) Killips, Clintonville, Vickie (Jim) Rohan, Bear Creek and Mark (Lynne) Coenen, New London; Eleven grandchildren: Paul (Katie Bartkowicz), John, Lee (Kristin) and Michael Wachsmuth; Nick (Lauren), Nathan Killips and Nichelle (Adam) Pingel; Kayla (Chris Groves) and Lance (Jenny) Rohan; Doniven and Jadyn Coenen; Seven great-grandsons: Kaine, Kaleb, Reece and Griffin Killips; Bear and Holland Pingel and Bob Wachsmuth; siblings: Gerald (Marilyn) Coenen and Judy (Richard Eichhorn) Coenen-Eichhorn, sisters-in-law: Gloria Coenen and Barb Coenen, and Aunt Virginia Fuss. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sons: Douglas Ray in 1963 and Steven John in 1981; brothers: Roger Coenen and James Coenen; uncle Raymond "Pete" Fuss; niece Laurie Hillsberg; his father and mother-in-law John A. and Esther M. (Dorn) Krull.
    The funeral liturgy for Don will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton with Fr. James Jugenheimer celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wichmann-Fargo Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton and again on Friday, September 15th at St. Pius X Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until time of Liturgy. A memorial in Don's name will be established.
    The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the ICU nurses at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center for their loving and professional care of Don.

    Roger F. Coenen, 73, of Hortonville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 22, 2016. Roger was born on November 6, 1942, in De Pere, WI, to Ray and Ruby (Fuss) Coenen. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1960. On February 11, 1961, Roger married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Jean Frye, and they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. They were blessed with three daughters, Rochelle (Scott) Loewenhagen, Chris (David) Koeppl, and Bonnie (Todd) Olsen, and a son, Jeremy Roger (Betsy) Coenen.
    Roger taught his children the value of hard work and the importance of caring for other people and it is this legacy that his children are passing down to their children and grandchildren. Roger and Gloria have 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren: Drew (Erin) Koeppl, Kami, Hutchinson and baby due 06/2016; Lynsi (Will) Puetz, Stephen, Sophia, and baby due 09/2016; Blair (Kim) Koeppl and baby due 07/2016; Chelsey Koeppl; Jacci Loewenhagen; Nick LaFave and daughter Cali; Chailey Koeppl; McKenna Koeppl; Jenna LaFave; Konner Koeppl; Jack Coenen; Brooklyn Coenen; Raegan Coenen; Mya Coenen; Ava Coenen; and Todd Olsen. Sunday was always donut day at Papa's house and the family will be carrying on this tradition.
    Roger never gave up on anyone and always gave them a second or third chance. He helped many people throughout his life who were down on their luck or just needed someone to believe in them. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 45 years and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award.
    Roger was happiest when he was up North at their cottage in Three Lakes teaching the grandkids how to fish or taking them on pontoon boat rides. The family was able to get him up there one last time thanks to Rick and Janis Bartel and their "bus".
    Throughout his life Roger never worked just one job. His first was at Wire Products Company. He then obtained his real estate broker's license which led to his career as a land developer. At the same time Roger also owned a construction company and built houses throughout Wisconsin. Never one to let the grass grow under his feet during this time he also cash cropped, ran a pheasant farm, and was a certified soil tester. In 1980 he opened JR'S True Value Hardware Store in Hortonville, WI. He soon expanded to Manawa and Waupaca. Eventually he concentrated his hardware knowledge in Waupaca and his loyal customers will tell you that if Rog couldn't fix it or figure it out, it could not be done. In the early 80s he taught himself locksmithing and JR's Lock and Key was born. Roger and his daughter Bonnie traveled Waupaca County and beyond rescuing stranded motorists, homeowners, and business owners.
    Roger is further survived by his siblings Don Coenen, Jerry (Marilyn) Coenen, Judy (Rick Eichhorn) Coenen-Eichhorn; and sister-in-law Barb Coenen. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim Coenen; nephews Steve Coenen and Doug Coenen; niece Laurie Hillsberg; and sister-in-law Joann Coenen.
    The children would like to thank their mother for being such a great caregiver to Dad all these years.
    Shell, Chris, and Bonnie would like to thank Jeremy for the great care he gave Dad these last few months.
    The family would also like to thank Kelly and the ThedaCare Hospice staff for all of their care over the last few weeks.
    A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at 11 AM at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hortonville with Pastors Ralph Rosenberg and Joel Jenswold officiating, with burial to follow at the Hortonville Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and again on Tuesday morning at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville from 9 AM until the start of the service.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Roger's name.

    John J. Gay, 69, Ashwaubenon, went home to the Lord, April 26, 2015. John was born in Green Bay, Wi on September 2, 1945 to the late Raphael and Rachel (Verheyen) Gay. On May 4, 1968, John married Carol White at St. Boniface Church in De Pere, Wi. Together they raised three children; Carrie, Julie and Tim.
    John worked at Super Valu for over 40 years. When he was not working, John enjoyed spending time at his parent's cottage on Kelly Lake, fishing, boating, and watching Packer games. John also enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his grandchildren.
    John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; their children, Carrie (Chad) Diedrick, of Marshall, Wi.; Julie (Craig) Schmidt, of Verona, Wi.; Timothy Gay, of Ashwaubenon, Wi.; their grandchildren, Madison and Alaina Diedrick, Mackenzie and Courtney Schmidt, and Isaac Gay.
    John is further survived by his siblings, Donna VanEgeren, Michael (Sharon) Gay, Marianne (Dave) Boyer and Robert Gay; his brother-in-law, Raymond White; sister-in-law, Patricia Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

    Robert "Bob" Peeters, 75, De Pere entered eternal life on Tuesday, No v. 5, 2002. The son of the late Cornelius and Esther (Coenen) Peeters w as born on May 27, 1927, in Green Bay. Bob was a graduate of De Pere Hi gh School and a World War II Navy veteran. On Feb. 18, 1950, he married h is wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat" Burke at St. Francis Church in De Per e. She preceded him in death last week, Wednesday, Oct. 30. He was a memb er of Local 1203 at Milprint in De Pere where he worked for 40 years unt il his retirement in 1989. Bob especially loved spending time at his cotta ge in Mountain, Wis. and tending to his garden at home. He enjoyed playi ng cards with friends and his Milprint Retiree Monday Morning Breakfast Cl ub.

    De Pere - Lorraine M. Schroeder, 87, died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on May 1, 2018. Lorraine was born on May 23, 1930 to the late Agnes (Coenen) and Lawrence Vander Heiden.
    Lorraine attended De Pere High School and on September 16, 1947 she married Orville Schroeder at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Dubuque, Iowa. They spent 67 wonderful years together before Orville passed away in 2015. Together they raised seven children and showed them what true love was.
    Lorraine is survived by her seven children Mary Kay (Steve) Jauquet, Dale (Jayne) Schroeder, Denise (Kurt) Gajeski, Nancy (Pat) Burke, Steven Schroeder, Renee (Kevin) Perock, and Susan Beining.
    She is further survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Colleen (Mike) Vien and their children Gunnar, Emily, Megan, and Alex; Polly (Ryan Juley) Jauquet, Neil (Amanda) Jauquet and their children Cora and Jansen; Andrew (Kristen) Schroeder and their son Mac; Jenny Titulaer and her son Orville; Adam Titulaer; Ryan Burke, Colin (Libbi) Burke, Shannon Mach and her daughter Ava; Cassidy and Ross Perock; Danielle, Megan, and Allison Beining; sisters-in-law: Betty Schroeder, Rosella Schroeder and Joan Schroeder.

    Rentmeester, Bruce P.Bruce P. Rentmeester, 53, Homer, Alaska, passed away unexpectedly on Oc t. 2, 2004, in Rochester, Minn. Bruce was born on Sept. 16, 1951, in Gre en Bay, the son of Lawrence and the late Helen (Coenen) Rentmeester. Bru ce attended St. Mary of the Angels Grade School and was a 1969 gradua te of Premontre High School. Bruce also attended the University of Wiscons in-Madison and Kenai Peninsula College in Kenai, Alaska.Bruce left Green Bay in 1974, hitchhiking to Alaska through a snowsto rm to work on the Alaska pipeline. He stayed in Alaska, ultimately worki ng as an operations technician for British Petroleum on the North Slope f or 15 years. Bruce met the former Vicki Kroeger in Homer, Alaska, in 198 5. On Nov, 14, 1990, Bruce married Vicki in her hometown of Jefferson Cit y, Mo.Those who had the privilege of knowing Bruce came to love and respect h im as a very intelligent, independent, genuine person who cared deeply abo ut his wife, his family, and his friends. His generosity was evident to th ose who came in contact with him. Bruce and Vicki enjoyed entertaining vis itors to Alaska, taking them sight-seeing, clamming, fishing, hiking, boat ing and showing them around Alaska.Bruce enjoyed many hobbies and interests ranging from hunting, fishing a nd snowmobiling to working with construction equipment to real estate deve lopment. Bruce was talented in many ways — an accomplished craftsman who b uilt his own home, a successful businessman who started projects from scra tch, and most importantly, a genuine friend who enjoyed being with peopl e, who could listen intently and solve problems, and was impatient with an yone who didn’t reach for the stars as he had.Bruce is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Vicki; his father, Lawr ence Rentmeester, Green Bay; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ken a nd Ruth Rentmeester, Middleton; Greg and Lynn Rentmeester, Green Bay; Jo hn Rentmeester, Green Bay; Roy and Gwen Rentmeester, Denmark; two siste rs and one brother-in-law, Jane Rentmeester, Green Bay; Kaye and Steve Sch neider, Ledgeview; and by Vicki’s sister, Elaine Herring and her husban d, Bruce, Leavenworth, Kan. He is further survived by many loving niece s, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Rentmeester; father and moth er-in-law, Joe and Mary Lou Kroeger; brother-in-law, Jody Kroeger; and sis ter-in-law, Kathy Rentmeester.Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday Oct. 8, 2004, at Proko-Wa ll Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oc t. 9, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 16 30 E. Mason, with Rev. James P. Neilson O.Praem officiating. A memorial se rvice will be held at a later date in Homer, Alaska.

    Princess Peapod received her heavenly crown on Thursday, May 31, 2012, after a courageous battle against cancer. Laurie Rae was born on January 18, 1966, to James Ray and Barbara (Noel) Coenen. She was an Appleton area resident all her life and currently lived in Menasha. Laurie was employed at Plexus for over twenty years and then worked at Surface Mount Technology until the time of her illness.
    Laurie loved picnics and blowing bubbles, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be especially missed by her loving son: Jesse Michael and Kayla (Roe) Hillsberg, New London; her caring mother: Barbara Coenen, Appleton; her brother and good friend: Michael James Coenen, Appleton; her special friend: Daniel McMahon, Menasha; best friends: Angie Greene and her sons; David Schmitting; and Travis Hafemann, "her other son"; aunts and uncles: Carol (Mike) Laux; Joan (Randy) Kiefer; Brian (Sherry) Noel; Donald Coenen; Gerald (Marilyn) Coenen; Roger (Gloria) Coenen; Judy (Richard Eichhorn) Coenen-Eichhorn; and many cousins.
    Laurie was welcomed to Heaven by her father, James Coenen; grandparents: Ray and Ruby Coenen; Ray and Doris Noel; her aunt, Joann Coenen; cousins: Douglas and Steven Coenen.
    The funeral service for Laurie will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Wichmann Funeral Home with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 pm until the time of service.

    On September 27, 2016, Owen James Verhagen entered into this world at 2:45 PM and went to meet the Lord 31 minutes later at, 3:16 PM. We take great joy from the time we had with him, and we have peace in knowing he watches over us every day.
    Owen is survived by his parents Eric and Amanda; sister Karlee Verhagen; grandparents: Tim and Carla Mueller and Greg and Sue Verhagen; Great Grandparents: Beatrice Mueller, LeRoy and Judith Van Dera, and Carol Just.
