Alvin brought joy into the lives of all of us and will be dearly missed. Alvin was a graduate of Janet Berry Elementary and Appleton East High School ('98). He resided at Pearl House in Neenah and worked at Lakeside Packaging for twelve years.
Alvin is survived by his loving parents Carol Mucha and Steve (Melanie) Shommer, brother, best buddy and life- long roommate Chad Simonson, amazing siblings Eric, Angela (Jeff), Craig (Leah) and Julie Schommer, devoted grandmothers Ruth Mucha and Marcella Seidl, caring aunts and uncles Sharon Mucha, Richard Mucha, Dwight (Barb) Ristow, Sandy (Larry) Russel, Dan (Mary) Schommer, Bonnie (Frank) Dennee, Jackie (Dan) Sturm, Kevin (Sue) Schommer, Gary (Polly) Schommer, Karla (Earl) Dennee, Tom (Lisa) Schommer, Amy (Greg) Schoettler, many cousins, nieces and nephews, good friend and neighbor Jeff, compassionate friend Ivy Evrard and family, and many others.
Alvin was lovingly cared for by many people from Productive Living Systems until he returned home for his final months. Our heartfelt thanks especially to Tammy Darnick and Kari Ash who were with Alvin through his many procedures and to Jenny, Katie, Katie, Kelly, Andre'a, Mary, Steve and everyone else for your tenderness and love for Alvin. You all made it possible for him to live a fulfilling, independent adult life. Alvin had a passion for catching prize winning fish in the Fishing has No Boundaries program, playing baseball in the Neenah Discovery League, attending the Lifeteen mass at St. Raphael, working at Lakeside Packaging and participating in the many leisure activities offered through the Arc of the Fox Cities. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the above organizations that enriched Alvin's life would be appreciated.
Visitation will be on Wednesday August 17th from 9:00-10:00 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Burial will take place that afternoon at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.
