Obituary:
Rita M. Mueller, age 93, of Chilton, died on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born in St. John on August 25, 1920, daughter of the late Michael L. & Theresa (Zepnick) Kees. She was united in marriage to Raymond P. Mueller on May 3, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Church in St. John.

Rita was very active in the Christian Women's Society, planning funeral luncheons, teaching religion for eight years, and sang in the choir at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, now known at Good Shepherd Parish. She also worked at the Brant Inn for thirty years, ten of which she was the "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer."

Rita enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, crocheting, gardening, dancing, playing Sheepshead, reading, and was an active member of the Chilton Senior Citizens. She, together with her husband, Ray, volunteered at the Salvatorian Center in New Holstein for many years.

Rita will always have a special place in the hearts of all of us and will be sadly missed by her children: Raymond (JoAnn) of Hilbert, Richard (Carol) of Oshkosh, Ann Marie (Bill) Juckem of Chilton, Theresa Hostettler of Chilton, Glenn (Mary Jean) of Chilton, Gail (Marvin) Thiel of Chilton, Carl (Edie) of Sheboygan, Karen (Mike) Peil of St. Augustine, FL, Connie (Tom) Daun of Chilton, Peter (Carol) of Green Bay; 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with another arriving soon; her first great-great grandchild coming later this year; her brothers: Martin (MaryKay) Kees of Neenah, Michael (Christine) Kees of Valders; and her sisters: Sr. Cecile Marie of Fond du Lac, Sr. Marie of Fond du Lac, Ruth Uitenbrock of Appleton, Regina (Marvin) Brickner of Coleman, Dorothy (Roland) Brandt of Waldo, & Ann (Charles) Peters of Hilbert. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ray; a son: Ronald; a son-in-law: Denis Hostettler; a grandson: Timothy Thiel; a granddaughter-in-law: Deb Cullen; her parents; her step-mother: Clara; her brothers: Adelbert, Herman, Joseph & Leonard Kees; her sisters: Sr. Annacile, Alvera, Lillian & Hildegard Kees; sisters-in-law: Helen, Esther, Marie, Joyce; and brothers-in-law: Claude Uitenbrock & Armon Zahn.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Larry O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 and on Friday at the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Parish Vigil Service will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 pm.

Rita's family would like to thank the entire staff of Century Ridge, Dr. Tipler, Lisa Schabach and the Calumet County Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to her.
