    Siebers, Lana L. Mr s. Earl (Whitey) SiebersFreedom ; Lana grew up on the shores of Lake Winnebago, where she enjoy ed swimming and having fun with cousins and friends, bonfires at night, a nd also going to the Lake Shore outdoor theater, as well as boating with t he neighbors next door, the Cohens. She graduated from Goodrich High Scho ol in Fond du Lac, WI, in June 1960. She attended Marian College for a sho rt time. Lana boarded her horse at Horse Shoe Springs where she met her fu ture husband Earl (Whitey) Siebers. She worked for awhile at Standard Cole sman before marrying (Whitey) on June 4, 1969, the happiest day of her lif e. The second happiest is when she and Whitey adopted their son Jason.Lana was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and l ongtime Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association and also a lifetime memb er of the American Kennel Club. She enjoyed showing her horse "Lil Liza Sq ueeker" better known as "Jane." She received numerous awards on her horsem anship. Lana also belonged to the Genealogical Society of Appleton throu gh the L.D.S. Church. She also taught Sunday school at Moravian Chur ch in Freedom and volunteered at Freedom Schools.Lana enjoyed writing poetry about family and friends. Some were publish ed in her grade school and high school reunion books of 2005. Her poetry w as one of her many talents. She would sing, play her piano "by ear" and co rds on her guitar. Her talents were snuffed out too soon.Lana was descended from the pioneers of Algoma. Among them the Henry Bruem mer line, the Ferdinand and Gustave Haack line, along with the Fredrick Wu lf family and the W. L. McLaughlin family. She contributed many articles a nd pictures of the Bruemmers and the Wulfs to the Algoma Local History Res ource Center in Algoma.Lana was a "bright light" that will be missed by her loving husband, White y; son, Jason and girlfriend Amy; daughter, Christine Okkerse; and speci al cousins, Sally Schoeborn and Susan Kohlbeck; especially pet golden retr ievers, Shadow and Sunny. She is further survived by Bernard (Belva) Siebe rs, Idaho; Blanche (Bob) Mayer, Greenleaf; Elaine (Howie) Hayek, Tigerto n; Sharon (Bob) Hoehne, Kaukauna; Joan (Kurt) Vogel, Whitewater; Bonnie (D on) Tomazevic, Shiocton; Harvey (Tammy) Siebers, Kaukauna; Mary (Brian) Be tz, Sturgeon Bay; Mark and Kathy Siebers, Black Creek; and special fami ly friend, Eric Marien.She was preceded in death by Deanna Guyette, Portland, OR; and Darlene Sch roeder, Appleton. May her light shine even brighter in the heavens with h er love and generosity. We will sadly miss you.
    In Greek, Lana means "Light"The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at BOET TCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, with Rev. Jas on Andersen officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home fr om 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is bei ng established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the famil y. 920-766-2099.
