    Mrs. Peter Green, 46, Freedom, died at her home about 8:30 this morning after a long illness. Born in Freedom Oct 22, 1898, and lived there all her life. She was a member of St. Nicholas church, Freedom, Christian mothers Society and St. Therese Society.
    Survivors are the widower; her mother, Mrs. Mary Garvey 403 S. Memorial Drive; one son; Michael, Freedom; four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Vosters, Little Chute; Dorothy and Virginia, a5t home; one brother James Garvey, 403 S. Memorial Drive; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Vandenberg 614 W. Eighth St., and Mrs. William Garvey 719 W. Spooner St., and three grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Nicholas church, Freedom with the Rev. A. W. Van in charge. "Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Freedom residence after 3 o'clock Sunday, afternoon. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday 7 Monday evenings.

    Gladys M. Hendricks, age 93, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living. She was born on May 14, 1920, to the late Peter and Helen (Garvey) Green. Gladys was born and raised a farm girl and married a wonderful man, the late Edward Hendricks. Together, they lived a longtime farm life until they sold the farm and moved to Appleton. While she lived in Appleton, Gladys worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she wrote and illustrated surgical pack manuals until her retirement. She also developed blue prints for remodeled and new homes for many years. She had many tragedies in her life, losing her mother at a young age, her son as an infant, and her youngest daughter as a teen. Gladys also celebrated life in the beautiful marriage she shared with Ed, her two surviving daughters and their families, and all her relatives and friends, especially her brother and sisters. She will be remembered for many reason, but especially her wonderful sense of humor, her special self-taught talents, and her endless generosity. Gladys was always a talented artist, and she loved to perform on stage as a youth. She later went on to be a self-taught musician, seamstress, and hair dresser. Gladys was a member of Christian Mothers, Freedom Card Club, and the Perpetual Adoration Society. She was loved dearly by her family, and she will be greatly missed.
    Gladys is survived by her daughters, Judy (Frank) Bekkers and Ellen (James) Lutz; grandchildren, Kelly (Gerald) Graham, Kim Hermans, David Bekkers, Timothy Lutz, Corina (Robert) Daul; great-grandchildren, Christine Hermans, Danielle Hermens, Jacob Lutz, Aubrey Lutz, Sydney Daul, and Joshua Daul; sister, Catherine Vosters; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lester Hartzheim, Henry (Jean) Hendricks, Theresa Schmidt, and Angela (Sylvester) Guerts. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hendricks; children, James and Deborah Hendricks; father and mother-in-law, Martin and Gertrude Hendricks; siblings, Dorothy Reams, Virginia Hartzheim, and Michael Green; brothers and sisters-in-law, Olin Reams, Raymond Vosters, Minnie and Peter Hietpas, Inez and Edward Ebben, Arthur and Martha Hendricks, Joseph Schmidt, Mary Jane and Leo Hendricks, Loretta and Lester Diedrich, and Agnes Hendricks.
    Funeral liturgy for Gladys will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton, with Fr. Norm Krutzik officiating.     From tom Duetscher September 2004 visited with Catherine Vosters toda y. (She was the source of the Green / Blindauer book that I copied fro m) When I showed her what I was doing and what I was looking for she broug ht out a book of the Green / Romenesko family. It is an original with a ll original photos in a scrapbook. She said there are no copies of it anyw here. She will not let it out of her sight. I did have my scanner and co pied several pages that I thought you may want. She is willing to l et me come in for a day and scan the entire book Plus several other phot os that She has. Is this part of the family that you were looking foSamples are attached. It appears similar and probably a rough draft th at came from Tom Green. However the photos are all original '96 some bei ng tin type 1865 '96 1890 era.

    Catherine R. Vosters, Town of Vandenbroek, age 94, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the St. Paul Home. She was born in Freedom on August 14, 1921 to the late Peter and Ella (Garvey) Green. Catherine married Raymond Vosters on November 20, 1941 at St. Nicholas Parish in Freedom. Catherine and Ray started their life's journey together farming and eventually raising seven children. She had a lifelong love of music and was a very talented singer and harmonizer. In her younger years, you could hear Catherine and her sister, Gladys, on the radio. She was a voracious reader and kept herself current with politics and world events. She was a strong and patient matriarch who treasured and held her family together. She loved nothing better than spending time with her family and was a lifelong social butterfly, a people person. She had a wonderful smile and sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her, and we her children will love her and miss her every day of our lives. We take comfort that she is in Heaven with Dad.

    Dorothy Green Reams passed away on 4-15-2013 in Arizona after a lingering illness. She was born in Freedom in 1924 to Peter Green and Ella Garvey Green. After graduating from Freedom High School, she was a buyer for H.C. Prange. On a train going to New York for business, the train was stalled because of a snow storm and there she met Chief Petty Naval Officer, Olin Reams, whom she later married. They had two sons, Tom and James, and after the war were stationed in Nagasaki, Japan. They returned to the states and settled in Kentucky and eventually came to Freedom, Wisconsin. During their retirement, they resided in Arizona. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Becky) and James Reams and by her grandchildren Matthew and Briana Reams..She is also survived by her sisters, Catherine Vosters, Gladys Hendricks, brother-in-law, Lester Hartzheim and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin, her parents, Peter and Ellie Green, her sister, Virginia Hartzeim, her brother, Mike Green, brothers-in-law Ed Hendricks and Ray Vosters. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We love you Dot.

    Virginia M. Hartzheim, 80, Appleton, died peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 2007, following a long illness. She was born Jan. 8, 1927, to the late Peter and Ella (Garvey) Green, in Freedom, and following her graduation she moved to Appleton. Virginia had been employed by First National Bank (Chase) for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, watching her "soaps" and doing word search puzzles. Virginia was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
    Survivors include her husband, Lester W. Hartzheim, to whom she had been married for 42 years; her daughter, Lisa (Tom) Doerfler, Appleton; her grandson, Bryan Doerfler; a brother, Michael Green, Sun City, Ariz.; three sisters, Gladys Hendricks, Appleton; Catherine (Raymond) Vosters, Little Chute; Dorothy Reams, Sun City, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Sophie Zwick; her grandchild, Terry Doerfler; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Hendricks and Olin Reams.
    The funeral liturgy for Virginia will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.

    Michael Peter Green was born in Freedom, Wisconsin, on December 2, 1930, to Peter J. Green and Ella Garvey Green. He attended Freedom School, Freedom High School, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for many years for Cuna Mutual Insurance Company in Pomona, California.
    Mike was an extremely social person and truly enjoyed visiting family and friends, who were always most welcome in his home. He maintained long-term friendships with many high school friends and people from the Appleton, Wisconsin, area. Everyone was drawn to his warm smile and his charming disposition. In his last months of life he proclaimed to his niece, Helen, "I've had a lot of fun in my life." He truly had a zest for life.
    In his retirement he moved to Sun City, Arizona, with his lifelong companion, Judy Spruill. There they continued his style of acquiring more friends. He was very good at maintaining a lifelong commitment to family and often returned to Appleton, Wisconsin, for nieces' and nephews' weddings and other anniversary celebrations. When Mike was around, there was always a good time and many funny stories.
    Mike passed on March 16, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his lifelong companion of 30 years, Judy. He is also survived by his sisters: Dorothy Reams, Catherine Vosters and her husband, Ray, Gladys Hendricks, , and brother-in-law Lester Hartzheim, with whom he remained very close after the death of Mike's sister Virginia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Kay Kelly, his first wife, and her son, Jimmy, whom Mike helped raise as the son he never had.
