    Obituary:
    Gary Rickert, age 51, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on November 29, 1961, in Green Bay, the son of the late Joseph and Edna (Green) Rickert. Gary attended New Hope Nursery School and graduated in 1989 from Robert Plamann School in Appleton. He worked at the Sheltered Workshop and won gold medals with the Special Olympics in bowling and basketball.
    Gary is survived by his siblings: Marge (Ron) Springstroh, Appleton; Joan (Ron) Semrow, Freedom; Dave (Judy) Rickert, Freedom; Pat (Mary) Rickert, Freedom; Bill (Katie) Rickert, Appleton; Dan (Joy) Rickert, Virginia; Kathryn (Marvin) Schiedermayer, Hayward; Mike (Jill) Rickert, Freedom; and Cindy (Mike) Ballweg, Lodi; his godparents: Catherine and the late Ray Vosters. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    The funeral liturgy for Gary will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Fr. Rick Basquinez will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Nicholas Catholic Church or the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin - Fox Cities are appreciated.
    The family would like to express a special thank you to Jodi Blume and everyone at Agape 6, for the care of Gary over the years and making him feel at home.
