    Virgil Nabbefeldt, 84, of Seymour passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Forest Glen in Seymour.
    He was born April 4, 1931, son of the late Cliff and Helen (Gehring) Nabbefeldt.
    Virgil farmed all of his life in the town of Oneida.
    Survivors include sister-in-law, Ann Nabbefeldt, Seymour; Godson, Ron Nabbefeldt and his children, Bridgette and Henry; nephews and nieces: Kathy (Bruce Neuman) Nabbefeldt, Mary (Mike) Sigl, Donna (Tim) VanDenEng, Sharon Peterson, Karen (Mike) Laskowski, and Robert (Stephen) Nabbefeldt; special friend, James Van Camp.
    Preceded in death by his brother, Vernon; sister, La Vern; and nephew Joe Nabbefeldt.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, March 9, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Freedom.

    Obituary:
    Vernon Nabbefeldt, age 79, of Seymour passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2014 at his home. He was born April 26, 1934 son of the late Cliffton and Helen (Gehring) Nabbefeldt.
    On May 7, 1993 he was united in marriage to Patricia Bunnell in Seymour. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour.
    Vern served as an auxiliary officer for the Seymour Police Department for many years.
    Vern was a truck driver his entire life and a proud member of the Teamsters union. He retired from Fore Way Express.
    He was known to be on the telephone every chance he got. Every Sunday night he could be found at the Seymour races. Vern also enjoyed his many card games.
    Vern is survived by his wife Patricia; children: Kathy (Bruce Neuman) Nabbefeldt, Ron Nabbefeldt, Mary (Mike) Sigl, Donna (Tim) VanDenEng, Sharon Peterson, Karen (Mike) Laskowski, and Robert (Stephen) Nabbefeldt, step-children: Stacey Malewski, Jennifer (Terry) Roberts, Sarah (Fred) Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Annette Nabbefeldt, 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother Virgil Nabbefeldt.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph; grandson, Derrick; infant sister, Elizabeth.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 4 pm until 8 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11 am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating.
