Obituary:
Walter C. Scheibe, 70, 247 Clay St. died early Sunday morning at his home following a long illness.
He was born July 10, 1914, in the town of Lawrence, a son of the late Hubert and Bertha Pagel Scheibe and attended the Wrightstown Schools.
Mr. Scheibe married the former Irma Rosin May 22, 1941, in Wrightstown and they farmed in the town of Lawrence until moving to Wrightstown in 1974. He was also employed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers.
He was past president and deacon of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, a past director of the South Lawrence Butter and Cheese Association and a member of the Golden Agers.
In 1982, he received a plaque for dedication service from the Wrightstown Historical Society.
Survivors are his wife; one son, the Rev. Richard Scheibe of Roanoke, VA; one daughter Mary Ann Rosin of Edina, Minn. one brother Edwin, of Little Chute; one sister, Erma Conrad of Kaukauna, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. Carl Klein officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with De Wane Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
