    Obituary:
    Carol Jane (Timmers) Pflieger, 78, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 25, 1936, in Appleton to Sylvester and Blanche (Van Hoof) Timmers. On Jan. 3, 1959, she married Patrick L. Pflieger in Milwaukee.
    Carol graduated from Appleton High School in 1953, and then earned her RN-BSN at Marquette College of Nursing in 1958. She and her husband moved to Door County in 1974, and she began work for the Door County Public Health Department. She retired as the Director of Public Health in 1991.
    Carol served on the Board of Directors for Headstart of Northeastern Wisconsin from 1992-2014. She was the board liaison to the Policy Council and on the Health Service Advisory Committee. She was a member of Sturgeon Bay Lions and was serving as current president. She was also on the Sturm Humanitarian Foundation Board for District 27-B2 and was honored with the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Carol assisted her husband Patrick with his work on the Wisconsin Lions Foundation Board and was his partner in service during his year as District Governor.
    Carol was an avid reader, loved to play golf and loved horses. She finally got a horse of her own in 1972, and horses have been a part of her family ever since. One of her favorite recent pastimes was watching her grandchildren's athletic events.
    Survivors include her husband, four children: Ann (Erwin) Smejkal, Timothy (Wendy) Pflieger, Julie Pflieger, Jonathon (JoAnn) Pflieger, all of Sturgeon Bay; 7 grandchildren: Amy, Lisa, Molly, Ashley, Jared, Joshua, and Jacob; two brothers, Tom (Virginia) Timmers, Appleton; Joseph Timmers, Sturgeon Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Blanche, two brothers, Richard and William.
    A memorial mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Wisconsin Lions Camp. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com

    The Honorable Richard H. Timmers, aged 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 3, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Blanche Timmers, and his brother Bill Timmers. Surviving are his wife of 30 years Leora, sons David (Carol) Grant, Steven (Jennifer) Timmers, David (Wanda) Timmers, daughter Susan (Jason) Wood, grandchildren, Alexandra Timmers, Heather Grant, Adam Timmers, Brandon Skeel, Grace Timmers, Henry Wood, great-grandchildren Jaxson and David, brothers Joseph Timmers, Tom (Ginny) Timmers, sister Carol (Pat) Pflieger and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Richard spent 13 years working as an attorney throughout the area, and served 22 years as a Kent County Court District Judge. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, golf, and spending time with family and friends when we weren't driving him crazy! He will be remembered for his generosity, and his kind, thoughtful, and witty personality. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Reyers North Valley Chapel.
