    Alton L Techlin, 80 of Benson AZ, formerly of Freedom died Friday December 18, 2015. He was born in Freedom, September 17, 1935, son of the late Lester and Margaret (Cowles) Techlin. Alton married Eleanor Skrobel on September 14, 1957. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2007.
    Alton served his country in the US Marine Corps, during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, VFW Post #7692, and the Freedom Knights of Columbus. Alton worked for Banta Publishing for 42 years. He also drove a school bus for Swinkles Inc. Alton loved to play cards, both cribbage and sheepshead were his favorite. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and when he was able, golf. Alton enjoyed traveling, taking his family on many vacations.
    Alton is survived by his three children: son Alton Jr, Kaukauna; and two daughters, Christine (Mike) Condardo, Yakima, WA, and Barbara (Cecil) Jones, North Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, Alyx, Austin, and Alisha Techlin, and Tiffany Jones; two great grandchildren, James and Arianna Lysne; four sisters, Beverly (Elmer) Gieger, Appleton, Doris Schmidt, Neenah, Cathy (Dennis) Doberstein, New London, and Joy (Raymond) Jochman, Appleton. Alton is further preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel and Charlotte; and a brother in-law, Robert Schmidt.
    Mass of Christian burial for Alton will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 Cty Rd S, Freedom, with Fr Walter Stumpf officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 until 10:30 AM. Full military honors provided by the Freedom VFW Post #7692 will follow. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

    Alton married Skrobel, Eleanor 14 Sep 1957. Eleanor (daughter of Skrobel, Alix and LaPonce, Uiva) was born 27 Mar 1936; died 14 Nov 2007. [Group Sheet]

She was born on April 30, 1944 in Ellingt on Township (Outagamie County) daughter of the late Lester and Margaret (K rueger) Techlin. Charlotte was united in marriage to Merle Sikes on Octob er 26, 1989 in Waupaca.She is survived by her husband Merle; a daughter Ann Marie (Paul) Sawal l, New London; a son Daniel (Diane) Handrich, Neenah; a brother Alton (Ele anor) Techlin, Freedom. Four sisters: Beverly (Elmer) Geiger, Mackville; D oris (Robert) Schmidt, Neenah; Cathy (Dennis) Dobberstein, New London; J oy (Raymond) Jochman, Appleton a stepson Tracy Sikes a brother in-law Jose ph Moeller; four grandchildren: Andrew, Brittany, Eric, and Jonathon furth er survive Charlotte.She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Ethel Moeller.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Cli ne & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Ron Ash officiating. Frie nds may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the ti me of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.Han son Funeral Home209 W.
