    Lloyd Valentine Hagen, age 89, entered the home of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 7, 2013.
    He was born on February 14, 1924, in Hastings, MN to the late Herman L and Ellen (Lundgren) Hagen. Lloyd attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD) located in Delavan, WI graduating in 1942. It was at WSD, where he met his sweetheart Lorraine Schommer, they were married on June 2, 1945. Lorraine preceded him in death on October 31, 2010.
    Lloyd learned the printing trade while attending WSD and entered the newspaper field as a linotype operator immediately after graduation. He retired from the Appleton Post Crescent in 1989 after 45 years of service. One of Lloyd's passions was his love for friends of the deaf community. Lloyd had been a member of the Fox River Valley Association of the Deaf since 1944. He was Vice-President for a total of ten years and President for one year between 1961 and 1977 during which time he chaired the Law Committee. He was conferred an honorary lifetime WAD membership in 2003 for his exemplary service as office, board member, advisor and mentor. He was inducted into the Wisconsin School for the Deaf Service Hall of Fame in 2006.
    Lloyd was a member of the Lutheran Church for the Deaf. In addition to spending time with family he enjoyed gardening, camping especially during the autumn months when the blackberries were ripe and jam making began. He also was an avid trout fisherman going to his secret holes with family. Lloyd was well-known for being humble and for stressing on the importance of getting along with everyone. He had a great sense of humor always teasing, especially the nurses who cared for him. Lloyd is survived by his by his children, Ronald (Paula) Hagen of Plover, WI; James (Donna) Hagen of Temple, NH; Carol (Richard) Evensen of Neenah, WI and son-in-law Donald Witkowski, Neenah, WI. 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild. He is further survived by brother-in-law Russell (Betty) Schommer of Redford, MI, sisters-in-law; Sister George A. Schommer of Manitowoc, WI, Lorraine Schommer of Shawano, WI and Georgie (Leon) Casey of Appleton, WI. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, a daughter Judy Witkowski and brother-in-law Florian (Buck) Schommer.
    A funeral service for Lloyd will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad St., Menasha with Pastor Bud Palmer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established to benefit the Fox River Valley Association of the Deaf.

    Judy A. Witkowski, Neenah, age 48, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born September 2, 1959, in Neenah, daughter of Lloyd and Lorraine (Schommer) Hagan. Judy graduated from Neenah High School class of 1977. She married Donald Witkowski on October 17, 1986. She was employed with Affinity Health Systems Clinics. Judy was very creative and had a passion for scrapbooking where she was an award winning consultant for "Close to my Heart" Scrapbook Co. She equally enjoyed and was an avid quilter. Judy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Neenah and a Cub Scout Chairperson with Pack #3038.
    A loving wife and mother she will be sadly missed by her husband, Donald; two sons: Patrick and Andrew; her parents: Lloyd and Lorraine Hagen; two brothers: Ronald (Paula) Hagen, Tim (Donna) Hagen; a sister, Carol (Rick) Evensen; and numerous other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Harry and Dorothy Witkowski.
    Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Harms officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name.
