    Obituary:
    James B. Webb, Sr., 89, Neenah, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2012, at his home. He was born November 7, 1922, in Neenah, son of James and Laura (Barnett) Webb. He was a 1940 graduate of Neenah High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, before entering the United States Marine Corps. Jim was a combat veteran of World War II having served action in Peleliu and Okinawa Islands in the Pacific. He retired from service as a captain. Jim married Patricia Bea Schommer June 15, 1946, in Chicago and she preceded him in death February 18, 1992. He returned to school and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He entered the family business after the war, Krueger Hardware, Neenah. He was very active with the Neenah-Menasha Chamber of Commerce, RACON (Redevelopment Authority / City of Neenah), and the Neenah Rotary Club. He was past president of the Wisconsin Retail Hardware Association, an original member of Old Salts Committee (birthday club for Marines). He was an original committee member of Prospector Days and an avid gardener, golfer, and enjoyed reading political and military history. He was a mentor to Marines prior to their entering the service. He would visit schools and educate students throughout the Valley on the role of the citizen soldier and World War II history. He was charismatic with customers and strangers. People affectionately remember him meeting with customers and giving assistance with his ever present pipe.
    Mr. Webb is survived by his children: Mary "Bid" Webb, Soldiers Grove, WI; James B. Jr. (Bonnie) Webb, Neenah; Deidre (John) Dunn, Middleton; Brian (Colleen "Kelly") Webb and Sarah (Gary) Cunningham, both of Neenah; seven grandchildren: Tim (Dr. Tina Wismer) Williams, Monticello, IL; Lauren Webb, Benjamin "Max" (Shana) Webb, Ellen and Samuel Webb, and Patrick and William Cunningham, all of Neenah; a brother, Maurice "Barney" Webb, Madison; a sister, Frances Ozanne, Two Rivers; brother and sister-in-law: Donald (Alice) Schommer, Neenah and Maureen "Corky" (Richard) Sokel, Menasha; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
    He was also preceded in death by his parents.
    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 Church Street, Neenah with Rev. Paul Huxtable officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah where military honors will be performed. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 Noon Monday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his caregivers and the staff at Island Shores, Neenah.
