    Obituary:
    Little Chute - Joan T. Hopfensperger Fahl, age 90, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by her family on March 6, 2018. Joan was born in Kaukauna on December 16, 1927, to the late Henry and Rose (Hoks) Maes. On September 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Matt Hopfensperger at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Together, they raised their five daughters in Appleton. The couple enjoyed 44 years together until his passing in 1991. In 1997 she married Werner Fahl. She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for over 25 years. Joan enjoyed sewing, working in her garden, and making quilts which were donated to local hospitals and cancer centers - but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan was always willing to volunteer and lend a hand to anyone who needed it. She was a member at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.
    She will be missed by her five daughters: Anna (Robert) Broaden, GA, Mary Miller, Appleton, Frances Hopfensperger, Sheboygan, Cheryl Kietzmann Frost, Medina, and Cindy Hopfensperger, De Pere; 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Jennifer, Paul, Amanda, Melissa, Jonathon, Ashley, Aaron, Thomas, and Patrick; 10 great grandchildren: Alexis, Jocelyn, Jaylee, Dominick, Logan, Kelsey, Braylon, Jacob, Garrett, and Kayden; 2 brothers: John (Sharon) Maes, WA and Dan (Jeanne) Maes, MO. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Matt, second husband Werner, son Paul, son-in-law Dennis, 3 sisters: Elizabeth, Marie, and Dorothy, and 2 brothers, Henry and Paul.
    A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, March 10, at St. John Nepomucene's Church, 323 Pine St. Little Chute, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogan officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Inurnment will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery, Darboy. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the second floor at St. Elizabeth Hospital Fremont Tower.
