    Meltz, Lois Jane
    Lois J. Meltz, 78, formerly of Appleton and Suring, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Feb. 28, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz. Lois was born April 21, 1929, in Appleton, daughter of the late August and Ida (Hooyman) Jahnke. She resided in Appleton for most of her life, moving to Suring in 1990 and to Arizona in 2005. On June 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lawrence (Larry) Meltz, sharing 61 years together. Lois worked as head cashier at the Piggly Wiggly in Appleton for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
    Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; her children, Ross (Jacquelyn) Meltz, Appleton; Krystal (Carl) Krause, Iola; Reed (Cynthia) Meltz, Black Creek; Andy (Stacey) Meltz, Phoenix, Ariz.; Edward (Mary) Meltz, Alpena, Mich.; and August (Collette) Meltz, Shiocton; a son-in-law, Wayne Klarner, Seymour; grandchildren, Christopher (Nikki) Meltz, Alaska; Aaron (Oanh) Meltz, California; David (Erin) Meltz, Oshkosh; Wendy Ruck, Oshkosh; Dean (Heidi) Dye Jr., Minnesota; Jakeus (Mary) Meltz, Shiocton; Charles (Crystal) Meltz, Seymour; Travis Meltz, Black Creek; Nicole Meltz, Black Creek; Sarah Klarner, Freedom; Rachael Klarner (Brad), Freedom; Zachery Meltz, Arizona; Thomas Meltz, Michigan; Carolyn Meltz, Michigan; Johnathan Meltz, Michigan; Shawn Boettcher, Nevada; and Halie Meltz, Shiocton; numerous step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Emily, Justine, Jadynn, Savannah, Molly and Liana; and a brother, Arlon (Janet) Jahnke, Florida.

    The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and then directly at the church (Sacred Heart Room) from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service. A reception to celebrate Lois' life will be held at the Red Ox Supper Club, 2318 S. Oneida St., following the service.
    Lois had a heart full of love and she didn't hesitate to share that love with everyone around her. God had given all of us a gift by bringing her into our lives. We will cherish this gift and the memories and we are forever grateful to have shared our lives with her. Rest in peace Grandma. We'll always keep you in our hearts.

    Augusta, GA - Major Arlon H. Jahnke, formally of Appleton, WI and currenty residing in Augusta, GA, returned to his heavenly home on April 02, 2018 at the age of 83. Arlon was born to Ida Hooyman and August Jahnke on January 21, 1935, in Appleton, WI. He joined the US Air force in 1954 and served until 1975. He served three tours in Viet Nam and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart among various other commendations.
    Arlon is survived by his wife of 22 years Janet Sharp Jahnke. Together they enjoyed traveling, sailing, fishing, and spending time with their extensive blended family of 8 children, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
    A celebration of life will be held May 5, 2018 at the American Legion #192 275 Legion Road, Evans, GA 30809. A brief service with military honors will begin at 1:30pm. All are invited to join the family in fellowship at the conclusion of the service. The family declines flowers and donations but prayers, condolences, and memories are gladly accepted.

    Earl Robert Jahnke age 62 of Cadott, WI. passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 4th, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
    Earl was born on January 1st, 1950 the son of Floyd and Lola (Ziegler) Jahnke in Appleton, WI. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from 1970-1972. Earl was united in marriage to Mary Gillis on March 17th, 1972 in Sherwood, WI.
    He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, hunting and fishing.
    Earl is survived by his wife-Mary Jahnke, Children-Chad Jahnke, Jayne Jahnke (friend-Bob Geist) and April (Chad) Schuebel; Grandchildren-Blake and Kirsten Jahnke, Morgan and Makenna Schuebel.
    Siblings-Bruce (Marge) Jahnke, Carla Brawner, Kristine (Jeff) Van Den Heuvel, Diane (Mark) Dietzler, Randall Jahnke, Barb (Kevin) Merckx, Ida (Mark) Johnston, Charles (Jennifer) Jahnke and Ted Jahnke.
    Brother and sister in laws-Barb Kieso-Gillis, Gloria Gillis, Barb Schreiber-Gillis, Kathleen (Daren) Carley, Patrick Gillis, Barb Robley-Gillis, Ginger (Wally) Freund, Ken (Kathy) Gillis, Wayne Gillis, Tom (Barb) Gillis, Mike (Liz) Gillis, Colleen (Tom) Williams and Jerry (Barb) Weyenberg, also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother-Phil Jahnke, brother in law-RJ Brawner, Father and mother in law-Royal and Marie Gillis, brother in laws-Dan, Jack, Gerald and Pete Gillis, sister in law-Judy Weyenberg and friend-Mary Maass.
    A local visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, WI. and on Friday, Nov. 9,2012 from 4-8 PM at the Boettcher Funeral Home in Kaukauna, WI. and one hour before services Saturday at the Church.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neenah, WI. with Rev. Steve Dietzler officiating. Interment will be at Community Lutheran Cemetery.
