She was born December 25, 1904, at Little Chute. She worked for Applet on Mills for 38 years and was a member of there Quarter Century Club. S he was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. She is surviv ed by her husband Louis Weyenberg, one daughter; Evelyn C.     Henry A. Van Dera, age 87, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2009, at Stanford Hospital, California with his family at his side. Henry was born July 2, 1921, and grew up in Hollandtown. He is the son of the late William and Mary (Weyenberg) Van Dera. After serving in the US Army in World War II, he married Blanche Van Den Heuvel on June 7, 1945. They made their home in Kimberly. In 1954, they moved to the farm where his wife had grown up and farmed until 1970. Henry also worked in the paper mill where he retired in July 1978 after 35 years. For retirement Henry and his wife moved to Kaukauna for the summer months and enjoyed the winter months in California. Henry was a member of St. Aloysius Parish. He was also a member of the American Legion for 65 years, and the Knights of Columbus for 66 years. His favorite retirement pastime was playing sheepshead.

    Theodore J. "The Cat" "Ted" Van Dera, formally of St. John, 84, died peacefully at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute, with his wife and daughter at his side, on Dec. 24, 2006, following a lengthy illness of Parkinson and Alzheimer's. He was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Outagamie County, son of the late William and Mary (Weyenberg) Van Dera. On May 2, 1944, he married Jean Vandenberg at St. Peter and Paul Church in Wrightstown. Ted worked for Oscar Bolt Construction for many years. He retired from Lunda Construction after many years of building bridges throughout Wisc. and Minn. Ted was a member of the Wisc. Carpenters and Laborer's Unions. He and his wife Jean also owned and operated Ted and Jean's Bar in St. John, for 34 years. Ted enjoyed the northwoods as well as crafting wood and working with his hands. The couple moved to the northwoods on Boundary Lake after Ted's retirement and returned to Kaukauna in 1999.
    Ted will be deeply missed by his wife, Jean of 62 years; a daughter, Pamela Van Dera, New Holstein; a son, Ted Jr. (Jean) Van Dera; three grandchildren, Jason, Justin, and Amanda; a great-grandson on the way; a sister, Loretta Nackers, Kaukauna; brothers, Henry (Blanche) Van Dera, Kaukauna; Peter Van Dera, Appleton; sister-in-law, June van Dera, Appleton. He is further survived by his wife's family, Zita Huisman, Kimberly; Isabella (Gilbert) Vosters, Pearl (Roy) Pleshek, all of Kaukauna; Joan Schultz, Shakopee, Minn.; Jim Hoffman, DePere; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

    Peter Van Dera, age 89, of Freedom, passed away at the Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice in De Pere on Sunday, May 26, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born on May 10, 1924 in the Town of Vandenbroek, the son of the late William and Mary (Weyenberg) Van Dera. Peter served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. On November 25, 1948, Peter married Elaine Hietpas at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1976. He worked over 40 years at the Kimberly Mill, retiring in 1989. Peter was a Charter member of the Fox River Beagle Club, and loved square dancing, and polkas. He proudly attended the Stars and Stripes Veterans Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in July of 2012. Many knew him as a very outgoing man, who always had a good joke to share that made everyone laugh. He always said, "If you don't make your own fun, you're not going to have any."

    Peter was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Van Dera; son, Clyde Van Dera; and brothers: Henry (Blanche) Van Dera, Ted Van Dera, and Robert Van Dera; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Victor Nackers, Paul (Margaret) Hietpas, Roger (Pat) Hietpas, Irene (Norbert) Roofers; Eugene (Susan) Hietpas, Shirley Hietpas and infant Vernon Hietpas.
    The funeral liturgy for Peter will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Fr. Dan Felton will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Little Chute. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass.     Loretta J. Nackers (Van Dera), Kaukauna, age 87, passed away Saturday, July12, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 3, 1927, in Hollandtown, daughter of the late William and Mary (Weyenberg) Van Dera. At the age of 85, she retired from Building Services Group where she was employed for many years cleaning in the Kaukauna School System. She was an active member with St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Kaukauna.

On June 6, 1946 she married To ny Van Boxtel at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Lorraine w as a longtime and faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Little Ch ute. She was an active supporter of education encouraging her children a nd grandchildren to continue their education after high school. Lorraine r eceived her high school diploma from Little Chute High School in 199 2. It was one of her proudest moments. She loved her grandsons dearly a nd followed all their school and sporting activities. She was an avid shop per and couldn’t pass up a sale. She loved to bowl and golf. She was a tal ented seamstress. She loved a good card game and enjoyed winning especial ly when her husband was playing. She also was a longtime member of the Ame rican Legion Auxiliary.Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband, Tony; a son, Randy; a daughe r, Lori Weyers; her son-in-law, Gary Weyers; and her two grandsons: Ryan a nd Tim Weyers.     Grace Ann Schaumann, 83, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday April 16, 2013, at Lake Shore Manor in Oshkosh. Grace was born January 16, 1930, in Little Chute a daughter of Arnold and Margaret (Hooyman) Van Deraa.
    Grace was married to Roy "Roy Boy" Schaumann June 2, 1950 in Little Chute Wisconsin.
    In life Graced loved sewing, planting flowers, cooking, camping, and even though she was not a swimmer or skier she enjoyed driving the boat for other family members that water skied. Grace worked as a CNA and for the last 17 years before retiring she worked at the Pioneer Inn in Oshkosh as a housekeeper.
    Grace is survived by her daughters, Deb (Steve) Williams of Omro and Denise Nelson of Oshkosh; her sisters, Virginia Vandenberg, Carol (John) Leduc, Joyce Lennert, Jeanne (Ed) Schaefer, and Peg (Wendell) Beane
    Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Schaumann; her son Daniel; and her sister, Lorraine Van Boxtel.
    Private family services will be held.
    A Dementia memorial has been established.
    A special thank you to all staff at Generations Hospice who cared for Grace, especially Heather. Also to the staff at Lakeshore Manor who cared for Grace the last seven years.

    Marvin G. (Otts) Van Deraa, Kaukauna, age 79, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 8, 2011. He was born on February 12, 1932 in Combined Locks to the late John and Bertha (Kortz) Van Deraa. He married Kathleen (Toots) Hartzheim at St. Therese Parish on May 4, 1957 and he was still well enough to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with his family in 2007.
    Otts was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War and remained a member of the American Legion Post 258. He worked 43 years at Thilmany Pulp & Paper as an oiler in the maintenance department and was a member of the Quarter Century Club, retiring in 1994. Otts enjoyed playing Sheephead, fishing, hunting, listening and dancing to polka music, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna.     Pege (Gerald) A. Van Deraa, Little Chute, age 72, died Tuesday December 24, 2013 at Brewster Village. He was born in Little Chute on February 16, 1941 to the late John and Bertha (Kortz) Van Deraa. Following graduation, Gerald served in the U.S. Army. Pege was a computer programmer and retired from M&I Bank after 30 years with them. He loved to visit with his brothers and sisters and will be warmly remembered for his "honks" hello. The Chicago Cubs are in mourning as they have lost their most loyal fan.
    Gerald is survived by his siblings: his twin sister Geraldine "Gerry" Welch, Appleton; Ronald (Beth), Neenah; Ellie Walker, Little Chute; Harvey (Irene), Kimberly; and Larry (Ruth), Poy Sippi; special nephew Dan Vanevenhoven; and sister-in-law: Kathleen Van Deraa.     On January 27, 1960, she was united in marriage to Donald Huben.
    Rose is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oneida. She enjoyed card playing, visits to the casino and going out to eat. Rose enjoyed caring for children and almost raised the entire neighborhood. She loved feeding the birds.

    God saw that you were tired and said, Liz come with me home to your eternal kingdom. Elizabeth M. Schmitz, age 80, died peacefully at Homestead Care Center on Monday, January 5, 2015. She was born April 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Martin and Minnie (Sanderfoot) Van Deraa.
    She married Renae Ott on September 6, 1952. She then married Paul Reichard on July 4, 1982. Paul preceded her in death on October 16, 1990. She then married John Schmitz, Jr. on August 27, 1995.
    Elizabeth worked several jobs over the years including Techumseh, the Larson Canning Factory and also provided home health care for several area residents, which was her true passion in life. She was always a caring person who loved everyone in which she came in contact with. Her pride and joy was always her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored each and every one of them. She enjoyed traveling with her sister Rose Ann and her husband Don. They traveled to many different places and always enjoyed seeing the different areas of the country. Liz also had a strong belief in angels and always expressed her faith that angels do exist.
    Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband John. She is also survived by her children, Becky Borseth (special friend Jerry) Brillion; Tim Ott (special friend Jackie) Sibley, Iowa; Terry Ott (special friend Char) Little Chute; Kerry Ott Forest Junction; Lori (Ron Touketto) Chilton; Tracy (Sheila) Ott Chilton; and Kelly (Brenda) Ott Reedsville.     James C. Van Deraa "Jim", 72, Kaukauna, passed away Thursday night, Oct. 11, 2007, following a short illness. Jim was born April 25, 1935, the fourth child of the late Martin Sr. and Minnie (Sanderfoot) Van Deraa in Kimberly. He resided in Kaukauna most of his life. Jim married the former Leona "Lee" Mae Klitzke of Stockbridge on May 14, 1960. At a very young age, Jim began his career as a farm laborer. He also worked as a mason for some time. Jim then joined the City of Kaukauna Street Department and retired with 35 years of service. He loved watching stock car racing and traveled to many of the area tracks through the years and especially enjoyed watching his nephew, Mike, race on a dirt track. Jim avidly followed the NASCAR and Busch series. He enjoyed playing the slot machines and playing bingo with his wife and good friends. His favorite past time was watching old westerns over and over.
    For over 30 years, Jim helped his brother-in-law sell Christmas trees and looked forward to seeing his regular customers. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Jim was one in a million.
    He is survived by his wife, Lee Van Deraa; his son, David L. Van Deraa; his daughter, Charlene A. Van Deraa, and her husband, Ronald A. Maass; a special granddaughter, Anna Rose Maass, who was born on his birthday; and his step-grandson, Kyle (Kristy) Maass; his sisters, Judith "Pippi" (Marvin) Vandevoort, Barbara (Randy) Moehr, Elizabeth (John) Schmitz and Rose Anne (Donald) Huben; his brothers, Jerome (Lorraine), Marvin (Phyllis) and Gerald (Jeannie); two sisters-in-law, Theresa Van Deraa and Joyce Van Deraa.     Van Deraa, Marvin Lester, Kaukauna, Age 76, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 following years of complications with diabetes and heart and vascular disease. He was born on September 2, 1936 in Kaukauna, son of the late Martin, Sr. and Minnie (Sanderfoot) Van Deraa. Marvin married Phyllis Arnoldussen on July 7, 1955. Marvin was a farm laborer, worked at Badger Tissue, and later employed by the Kaukauna Street Department until he had to take a disability retirement at the age of 58. He enjoyed playing sheepshead with family, and gambling on the slot machines in the casinos of Las Vegas and Wendover, NV as well as the local Wisconsin casinos even after suffering a major stroke a few years ago.
    He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis; a daughter, Christine Hoh (Mark); three sons: Keith and wife Lisa (Schafer), Tracy and friend (Deb Shippy), and Kevin and wife Sandy (Haring); grandsons: Thomas Hoh (Lucy), James Schafer (Amanda), Danny Schafer, Adam Schafer (fiancé Shanna), Justin Van Deraa; granddaughters: Trisha Schneider (Matthew), Tiffany Jankowski (Chad); greatgrandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Nyssa, Nyles, Nygel, Travis, Ellie, Ava, Samantha, Grace, Owen, and Emma.     Martin Van Deraa Jr. "Marty" Kaukauna, age 68, died unexpectedly following a short illness Wednesday, March 14, 2007. He was born September 24, 1938, in the Town of Freedom to the late Martin Sr. and Minnie (Sanderfoot) Van Deraa. On July 11, 1959, Marty married the former Joyce Heaney in Combined Locks. The couple lived in the Kaukauna area their entire married lives. Marty retired from employment at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing bingo and slots, and NASCAR racing. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
    He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce, Kaukauna, two daughters: Susan Van Deraa (Special friend, Perry Linskens) and Linda (Special friend, Roy Otto) Van Deraa, all of Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Sarah and Michelle Kappell, Lindsey, Makayla and Derek Otto, Leah and Coty Petit; four brothers-in-law; Jerome (Renne), Marvin (Phyllis), Jim (Leona) and Jerry (Jeanne); a sister-in-law, Theresa Van Deraa, sisters and brothers-in-law: Judy (Marvin) Vandevoort, Rose Anne (Donald) Huben, Elizabeth (John) Schmitz and Barb (Randy) Moehr and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Marty was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara and a brother, Donald.

    Robert H. Weyenberg, age 86 passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at his home in Black Creek after a lengthy illness. Robert "Bob" was born December 29, 1929 to the late Louis and Anna (Van Deraa) Weyenberg, of Kimberly. Bob was united in marriage to IlaMae Storma and they have been married for 21 years. Bob was a man of many talents and much enthusiasm. Sociable and multi-talented, Bob worked in many areas successfully. As a young boy, he was a life scout with 26 badges and worked for Lamers Dairy. He also served as a Sargent the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Kimberly and worked for Kimberly Clark for 30 years, becoming a Teamster union treasurer and president. He was also a bartender, insurance salesman, fiberglass tub executive, truck driver and a politician. Twice elected to the Outagamie County Board of Supervisors, Bob served with distinction, and had a passion for his community.
    Bob will be greatly missed by his wife, Ila Mae; his children: Debra Weyenberg, Kimberly, Brenda (Dr. Michael) Blaschke, Wauwatosa, Linda (Jeffrey) Koblick, Wayzata, MN, LuAnn (Paul) Vander Zanden, Little Chute, Steve (Jill) Weyenberg, Freedom, and Traci (Michael) Ramirez, Farmers Branch, TX; his step-children: Randy (Carin) Sigl, and Sarah (Bruce) Stephani; grandchildren: Darin Koblick and Sarah (Jeffrey) Friede of Eden Prairie, MN, Leah and Mara Vander Zanden of Little Chute, Matthew and Joshua Weyenberg of Freedom, and Joseph "JR", Savannah, Sabrina, Sophia, and Samantha Ramirez of Famers Branch. He is further survived by step-grandchildren: Brock Sigl and Megan (Jared) Johnson; great-grandchild, Ari Friede of Eden Prairie; step-greatgrandchildren, Parker and Jordyn Johnson; his loving companion dog, Dolly; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Evelyn, and his son, Robert, Jr.
    A memorial service for Bob will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, 54911.     Darlene M. McAndrews, age 69, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at Brewster Village after a lengthy illness. Darlene was born on February 25, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, daughter of the late Andrew and Marie Van Dera. On November 20, 1971 Darlene married Mark McAndrews in Kaukauna. Darlene was employed at Bergs Dry Cleaners, Kaukauna Klub, Larry's Piggly Wiggly and as a crossing guard for the City of Kaukauna.
    Darlene is survived by her husband, Mark McAndrews, Darboy; son, Brian (Kelly) McAndrews, West Bend; two grandchildren, Miranda and Cameron McAndrews. She is further survived by two brothers, Leroy (Judy) Van Dera, Mackville, Gordon (Pam) Van Dera, Kaukauna; sister, Linda (Marshall) Bayorgeon, Kaukauna.
    Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and late husband, Bernard Hruska.
    Visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4 pm until the time of service at 6 pm at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute). Rev. Ron Belitz will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
    The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Tom Lewandowski, his staff and the staff on the 3rd floor and AMC. They kept Darlene going well past her expiration date, with a good quality of life.

    Clyde "Clydeee" Van Dera, Freedom, age 51, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at his home. He was born in Appleton on July 18, 1955, the son of Peter Van Dera of Freedom and the late Elaine (Hietpas) Van Dera. On September 11, 1980, he married the former Mary Kamps in Combined Locks. For over twenty years, he had been employed as a rural mail carrier for the Appleton Post Office. Clyde was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his annual hunting and fishing trips to his cabin in Crandon as well as snowmobiling and motorcycling. Clyde was a Master Mason of the Manawa Lodge and was also a Noble of the Beja Shrine in Green Bay. In addition, he raised pheasants and chickens at his game farm. He was always able to fix just about anything that someone else (or he) broke and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He also enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his trusty sidekick T-Bone. Clyde will be remembered as a caring and generous man who constantly placed the needs of others before those of his own. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
    He is survived by his wife, Mary Van Dera, Freedom; three children: Jeremy Van Dera, Freedom; Jenna Van Dera, Madison; and Jesse Van Dera, Freedom, and his special friend Carrie Van Asten; his father, Peter Van Dera, Freedom, and his special friend Glenna; and adopted "grandparents" Russ and Beata Huss. Clyde also leaves behind six brothers and sisters: Carl (Vicki) Van Dera, Freedom and their children Carl, Craig, and Kristy; Diane (Mark) Romenesko, Kaukauna, and their children Dana, Dawn (Mike) Halverson, and Liz; Gary "Butch" (Geneva) Van Dera, Wrightstown, and their children Adam, Lee, and Brad; Steve (Gail) Van Dera, Freedom, and their children Melissa (Jim) Marvin and Nick; Nancy (Scott) Bornemann, Kaukauna, and their children Derek and Brittany; and Cheryl (Todd) Poellet, of De Pere, and their children Ben and Nathan. Clyde is further survived by a former sister-in-law Kay Van Dera, Kaukauna, as well as many other relatives and friends.
    Clyde was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine, in 1976 and Mary's parents Clarence Kamps in 1976 and Josephine Kamps in 1994.
    Visitation will be held at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH on Thursday, February 15, 2007, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The funeral liturgy and celebration of Clyde's life will follow at the church at 5 p.m. with Fr. David Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Combined Locks. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
    The family would like to extend their special thanks to the Freedom First Responders and to the families of Tom Van Handel and Rick Huss for their love, concern, and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
    Clyde, it's been quite a ride, never a dull moment. Thanks for the memories.

    Michael Van Deraa, Chilton, age 60, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born in Chilton on November 27, 1955 to Donald and Theresa (La Plant) Van Deraa. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved time spent with his family and friends.
    Michael is survived by his mother, Theresa; sisters: Rose (Tom) Koster of Little Chute; Mary (Ken) Raddatz of Stockbridge; Brenda Van Deraa of Kaukauna; Tammy Van Deraa of Neenah; and Darlene (Jesse) Faust of Coleman; brothers: Thomas (Lisa) of Kaukauna; Ronald (Carla) of Clintonville; Steven of Neenah; and Leon (Shelly) of Kaukauna; and his peanuts, William and Cooper. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Colleen Mary Huben, 56, of Oneida passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, as the result of a vehicle accident. She was born March 4, 1960, daughter of the late Donald and Rose Ann (Van Deraa) Huben.
    She graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1978. She did child care until poor health caused her to stop. She was an avid Green Bay packers fan. She also enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and Days of Our Lives. She took beautiful pictures and was the family photographer.
    Colleen is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oneida.
    She is survived by her sister, Carol (Arlyn) Wilinski, Seymour; brothers: Gary (Julie) Huben, Oneida; and Donald Jr. (Kris) Huben, Seymour; nephews and nieces: Aaron (Lynn) Huben, Mitchell Huben (special friend, Sara), Jason Huben (special friend Katie), Alicia Huben, Emily (Paul) Ashman, Jennifer Wilinski (Goddaughter); two great- nephews: Lee and Axel.

    Brook M. Koester passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2017 at her parent's home in Little Chute, at the age of 39 years. She had endured a life-time of health problems. Brook was a graduate of Kaukauna High School class of 1996. She was a CNA for five years at St. Paul Home.
    Brook was a very caring and loving mom, sister, daughter and friend to many. She enjoyed watching her daughter, Tiffani and her team play volleyball. Often her voice could be heard "Go Mustangs!" Brook had many happy moments attending auctions, rummage sales, flea markets and camping. She loved music, the Vikings, the color purple, collecting pigs and angels. She became a cat and dog lover, and had some special pals, bringing them for car rides to McDonald's. She cherished the little time she had with Tiffani.
    Brook is survived by her daughter Tiffani Rose, parents Tom and Rose Koester (Van Deraa), brother Travis (fiancée Penni Fritsch) Koester, maternal grandmother Theresa Van Deraa (LaPlant). Further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    Preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Virgil and Thelma Koester, maternal grandfather Donald Van Deraa, and uncle Michael Van Deraa.
    A Funeral Service for Brook will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, 204 W. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly. Pastor Walt Steinbach presiding. Interment Kelso Cemetery, Kaukauna. Family and friends may gather Monday, October 16, 2017 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
    She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
