Obituary:
William J. Vanden Burgt of Eagle River, formerly of Little Chute, died Monday, October 16, 2006, at the age of 60. Wilber was born October 6, 1946, to the late Joseph W. and Marjorie M. (Metz) Vanden Burgt. His passions were cooking, music, woodworking and fishing. Wilber spent his last years enjoying the beauty of the North Woods with his friends and forest critters. Many enjoyed watching him feed "his raccoons" by hand and seeing the deer that frequented his feeder.Wilber is survived by two brothers: Don (Judy) Vanden Burgt, Hortonville and Ken (Pat) Vanden Burgt, Little Chute; and four sisters: Marilyn (Jim) Ebben, Madison; Kathleen (Jim) Peterson, Escanaba, MI; Mary (Jim) Pleuss, Appleton and Ann (Ruben) Wittman, Little Chute. He was also dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his 18 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.Wilber was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Clarissa and Betty Mae.A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, in the Gathering Space at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Deacon Vincent De Groot officiating.
