Obituary:
Lillian G. Bruso, age 83 years, of McKinley Ave., Clintonville, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008, at ManorCare Health Services in Appleton. The former Lillian Gertrude Adams was born October 22, 1924, in Boscobel, WI. to the late Leo and Lois (Filbach) Adams. She was united in marriage on June 22, 1942, to Merlin "Bruce" Bruso in Boscobel. In the mid 1940s the couple moved to Clintonville where her husband operated Bruce's Sinclair Service Station. In 1960, they sold the business and Bruce went to work for FWD Corp., retiring in 1982. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1990. Lillian was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes, blankets and other items for her family. Another favorite pastime that Lillian enjoyed was clipping coupons for all sorts of things and sharing them with family members.
Survivors include two daughters: Donna Kaufman, Appleton; Dorothy (Bob) Spaulding, Menasha. There are six grandchildren: Rob Bruso, Becky (Rick) Beattie, Ashley Kaufman, Jim (Penny) Gustafson, Jeff (Dawn) Gustafson, and Tara (Dave) Taylor. There are seven great-grandchildren; Kailyn, Abbey, Autumn, Brienna, Trevor, Danielle and Jasmine. There are two brothers: LeRoy and Martin Adams, and a sister, Beverly Knoble, all of Boscobel. Further survived by a special niece, Kathryn Just of Porterfield, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two great-grandchildren: Faith and Caleb Beattie; two sisters: Dorothy Griese and Leona Jones; a son-in-law, Thomas Kaufman; two sisters-in-law: Carmen and Marilyn Adams, and two brothers-in-law: Millard Knoble and Willard Jones.
The family wishes to especially thank the entire staff at ManorCare for their kindness and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 1 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Parish Director, Patricia DeGroot will officiate and inurnment will take place in the spring at St. Rose Cemetery, Clintonville.
