    Vanden Heuvel, Richard G. 21 Deer Run Court KaukaunaAge 80, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2002 at home with his loving fami ly by his side following a lengthy illness. He was born June 26, 1922 in L ittle Chute; the son of the late Martin and Min (Bergman) Vanden Heuve l. He was employed with Giddings & Lewis for 24 years and then Miller Elec tric for 12 years until his retirement. Richard was a member of Holy Cro ss Catholic Church, Kaukauna. On February 5, 1944 he was united in marria ge to Lois Patterson at Holy Cross Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; four sons and four daughters -in-law: Joseph (Karen) Vanden Heuvel, Oshkosh; David (Jan) Vanden Heuve l, Kaukauna; Rick (Jean) Vanden Heuvel, Hudson; Jay (Tracy) Vanden Heuve l, Green Bay; a daughter, Sue Vanden Heuvel (special friend Steve), Kaukau na; his eight loving grandchildren: Chris and Lee Schmidt, Cary, Shane, Er ic, Paul, Jayna, and Jeni Vanden Heuvel; nine great-grandchildren; two bro thers and two sisters-in-law: James (Doris) Vanden Heuvel, George (Jan) Va nden Heuvel; and three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Viola Toonen, Be rnice (Howard) Baumgart, Dorothy (Ron) Lemke, and Bill Daul. Richard is pr eceded in death by two infants, Steven and Mary Jo; a brother, Gerald; a nd a sister, Grace Daul.The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Boettcher Family Funer al Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cem etery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesd ay until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has be en established.A kind outgoing, gentle man who set an example of how to live life. He nev er taught us how to live; he lived and let us watch him.

    Vanden Heuvel, David R.David R. Vanden Heuvel, Kaukauna, age 57, beloved husband, sportsman, wo od carver, brother, best friend, left us unexpectedly on Friday, Decemb er 30, 2005, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born September 28, 194 8, to Richard and Lois (Patterson) Vanden Heuvel in Appleton. He married J anis Newman on July 14, 1978.Dave was a very dynamic man who loved the woods and an accomplished mus ky fisherman. Dave lived his life looking forward to the next day in the o utdoors, whether fishing, hunting, picking berries or observing natur e. A familiar site in the northwoods around Langlade and Phelps, Wisconsi n, Dave brought everyone he met a sense of humor and teasing that made li fe with him always a memorable event. He was a rock to his family and h ad a heart as big as the outdoors he so admired. He loved football and w as especially proud of his nephew and Godson, Eric, who now plays for t he Wisconsin Badgers. He and his father hated any Packer inadequacy, and t hey spent many a Sunday letting the Packers know just how they felt. Th at was the beauty of Dave, you always knew where you stood.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He retired from M iller Electric, Appleton, in February of 2004 after 32 years. He lived a v ery full life with his wife and best friend at his constant side. The t wo were one, and always will be.His survivors are: his beloved wife, Jan "the most beautiful girl in the w orld," sister, Susan (fiance) Steve Magolski of Kaukauna; brothers: Jose ph (Karen) of Oshkosh; Richard (Jean) of Hudson; Jay (Tracy) of Oneida. H is nieces and nephews, who were like his own children are: Cary, Shane, Er ic, Paul, Jayna and Jeni Vanden Heuvel, Chris and Lee Schmidt. Also surviv ing are: brothers-in-law: Richard, John, Edmund (Mary Ann), and James (Jac kie); sisters-in-law: Mary (Don) Weghorn and Lois (Bob) Stolp. Also speci al friends; Gene (Lin) Collins, Tom (Cheryl) Jakl, and their children: Se th and Leigh, and many other friends and family.He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Lois and two infant s iblings: Steven and Mary Jo, and father and mother-in-law: Wallace and Ger trude Newman.Visitation and Words of Remembrance for Dave will be Thursday, Janua ry 5, 2006, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Boettcher Family Funeral Hom e, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna. 920-766-2099.
