    Mary R. Verhagen, 67, longtime resident of the Green Bay area, currently of Conover, WI died Tuesday, September 23, 2014. She was born January 12, 1947, in Green Bay to Kenneth and Iola Lawrence.
    On August 19, 1967, she married Glenn Verhagen in De Pere. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
    Mary is survived by her husband, Glenn; her two children and their spouses, Laura and Chris Conklin, Green Bay; and Mike and Angie Verhagen, Sturgeon Bay; her grandchildren, Matthew (Bri) Conklin, Melissa Conklin, Jessica Conklin, Wilbert Verhagen, Abigail Verhagen; great-granddaughter, Peyton Conklin; mother, Iola Lawrence; sister, Sandy Kust (her longtime friend, Jim Waldo); brother, Gary (Theresa) Lawrence; mother-in-law, Lila Verhagen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Verhagen, Jim Verhagen (his special friend, Sheila), Mary (Mike) Hockers, and Karen Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Lawrence; a brother, Larry Lawrence; and her father-in-law, Wilbert Verhagen.
    Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Daniel Viertel officiating. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
    A memorial fund has been established in Mary's name for Parkinson's Research.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rhinelander for their loving care. They also express their gratitude to Dr. Margaret Abel and Dr. Jeanne Pallagi for their care and concern for Mary.
