Gehring, Barbara A. (Cool)
Barbara A. Gehring, 66, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at her home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. She was born on March 30, 1941, in Escanaba, Mich., to the late Bert and Esther (Buckland) Lindbom. She married Robert L. Gehring on May 20, 1961, in the Town of Freedom, and they celebrated 46 wonderful years together. Barbara was a member of St Peter Lutheran Church in Appleton, a member of the Alter Guild, Church Choir and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, boating and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. "Barb will be tending the flower gardens in heaven."
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three children, Sharon (Mike) Talbot, Donna (Glen) Wendt, and Bruce (Julie) Gehring, all of Appleton; six grandchildren, Rachel, Alex and Brianna Gehring, and Jordan, Shayna and Tiara Wendt; a brother, Richard (Erma) Cool, Escanaba Mich.; two sisters, Bonita (Leonard) Wajrowski, Norridge Ill.; and Patricia (Robert) Irby, Spencer, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Marge Cool, Woodstock, Ill.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert (Rita) Cool; Roger Cool; and infant brother, Russell Cool; and a sister, Beverly (John) Schlabach.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at St Peter Lutheran Church on N2749 French Road with Pastor Tim Glende officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Valley Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday morning at church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Community Lutheran Cemetery in Town of Freedom, WI.
Dear Grandma,
We all want you to know that wherever we go we'll always think of you and remember how amazing you were. You'll always have a special place in our hearts forever and even though we're very sad that you are gone, it's great to know that we have another angel watching over us. Always remember that we love you and miss you, and someday when our day comes, we'll all be together again, in the Great place called Heaven.

The family would like to give a special Thank you to Dr. Goggins, and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology SC, and the nurses at St Elizabeth Hospital on the 4th floor. We would especially like to thank Sue, Kris, Patsy and Barb with Affinity Hospice for the wonderful words and care.
