Our esteemed townsman, Barney Finnegan, was stricken with apoplexy Mond ay evening at the home of Frank Caney at Pelican. He left here Sunday wi th his wife to visit friends at Pelican where he worked as our railroad en gineer for many years. Mr. Finnegan arrive here from the north accompani ed by his wife and his son, Dave of Antigo, and was taken at once to his h ome on the south side. He condition is very critical and his sons have be en called home. Mr. Finnegan is of a very genial nature and he has a ho st of friends who are very sorry to hear of his illness.

    Barney Finnegan, passed away fr om this life at 10:00 Saturday morning, after having been ill from a stro ke of apoplexy which he suffered on the Monday previous while visiti ng at Pelican. He died surrounded by his wife and children. He was uncon scious from Tuesday until his death. Barney Finnegan was of a very geni al disposition and he was highly esteemed by everyone who knew him. He w as a faithful employee of the C. and N. W. Railroad as engineer for ov er a quarter of a century and had a host of friends among the railway me n. He left Kaukauna a few years ago and was engineer on the short run o ut of Pelican to Crandon and for several years, returning to Kaukauna seve ral months ago to spend the remainder of his life in retirement. Deceas ed was born at Wayne Washington County Wisconsin on October 17th 1849 a nd was married in 1873 at Oshkosh to Miss Catherine O Halleran and they li ved at Oshkosh till 1888 when they came to Kaukauna. Surviving are his wi fe and the following children; Mary of Waukegan Illinois, David J. of Kauk auna, George of Milwaukee, and Mrs. R. B. Powers of Kaukauna. One sist er and three brothers also survive. Mr. Finnegan was a dutiful husband a nd loving father and was a faithful member of the Catholic church. He w as a member of the Kaukauna Council Knights of Columbus, of St. Mary's Cou rt C O F and #156 of Antigo. The society's attended the funeral in a bod y, large delegations been present. The funeral services were held at S t. Mary's Church and 9:00 Monday morning, solemn requiem High Mass been ce lebrated. Internment was in the parish cemetery. The floral tributes we re many and beautiful. The pallbearers were Louis Nelson, Harry Langloi s, Morris Hoolihan, Peter Hoolihan, M J. O'Donnell, and Thomas Kavanaug h. Among those present from out of town at the funeral were Thomas Finneg an and his wife, James Finnegan and son, Frank Finnegan and wife, Mrs. M ay O'Halleran and son, M.F. McCabe and his wife and John O'Brien of F on du Lac; Mrs. L.C. Kelly and son, Mrs. Rohan and daughter, and Ed Brah an and daughter of New London, Mr. and Mrs. John Finnegan and John Sho rt of Chilton, Pat O'Brien, R. J. Webster and his wife, Miss May Rohan, Mr s. Charles Gillon of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Caney, A.J. Ward and wife, J. B urns, M H Taggart and son and John Flaherty of Pelican, Mrs. John Chartie rs of Antigo, Mrs. Gary, of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Pat Brown of Wausau, P at Mulloy and daughter of Mercer, Mrs. Martha Borenz of Waukegan, Illinoi s; Mr. and Mrs. Goode of Appleton, Mrs. Theo Hayes of Fon du Lac, Mr. Gar rity of Antigo, and Miss Mary Golden of Rosholdt.

    Miss May Finnegan
    118 W. Ninth St. Kaukauna Age 84, passed away early Wed- nesday morning. She was born February 21, 1876 in Oshkosh, Wis. Mrs. Finnegan was a practical nurse and was employed at the Riverview Sanatorium for 26 years. Survivor's are one brother, George, Lamesa, Cal. and one sis- ter, Mrs. Margaret Powers, Mil- waukee, Wis. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's church, Kaukauna, with interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kau- kauna, after 7 p.m. Wednesday with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m.

In state after 9 AM Wed. at St. Joseph's Home for the aged, 5301 W. Lincoln, until the time of services at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross. Grateful thanks for the care at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged, St. Joseph's Hospital and St. joseph's Hospice. Lois was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Mary Magdalen Church and a member of the American Legion Auxilary.
