    Obituary:
    Geraldine "Gerry" J. Sauberlich, age 78, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Gerry was born in Merrill, WI on November 3, 1934, to the late Iver John and Edna (Plamann) Thompson. She graduated with the class of 1952 at Appleton High School. On June 9, 1956 Gerry was united in marriage to Dennis Sauberlich at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. The couple would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year. In her earlier days, Gerry did clerical work for Honeywell . She then became a stay at home mom until her kids were older and then worked at Gaurder Miller and later at Suburban Electric. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing at the family cottage on White Lake - but most of all, Gerry loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menasha.
    She will be missed by her loving husband, Dennis, Appleton; 2 daughters: Susan (Dave) Burroughs, Appleton and Mary (Kirk) VandenHeuvel , Appleton; 2 sons: Richard (Lois) Sauberlich, Green Bay and Peter (Stacy) Sauberlich, Menasha; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Weyenberg, Clintonville. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents ; 2 sisters: Elaine Paroubek and Dorothy Verstegen ; and her step father, Clem Groat.
    A memorial service will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 15, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1750 Midway Rd , Menasha. Friends may visit directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
