    Kempen, Kenneth Joseph After a courageous struggle with illness, Kenneth Joseph Kempen passed away on August 18, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1928, son of Henry and Leona (Heiting) Kempen in the Town of Woodville, Calumet County, where he lived and farmed the Kempen homestead. Kenneth was a member of St. John-Sacred Heart Church in St. John.
    He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Probst) Kempen whom he married April 26, 1982. In addition to his work on the farm he was over 30 years a sales representative for Vigortone Agricultural Products Co. He also enjoyed being a bartender at Van Abel's Supper Club of Hollandtown where he served for over 50 years. In his younger days Ken was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and throughout his life enjoyed traveling. He was an enthusiastic card player (especially sheepshead) with many friends and family. Ken was loyal and hardworking in all he undertook to do, always careful to get the job done right. At the same time he was a kind and caring man, special to everyone who knew him.
    He will be sadly missed and remembered by his wife, Phyllis and children: David Kempen, Page, AZ; Connie (David) Cady, Danville, CA; Wesley (Michelle) Kempen; Stan (Renee) Kempen; and Lisa (Joseph) Kocourek; all of Brillion. Furthermore Ken will be fondly remembered by grandchildren: Ryan and Erin Cady; Zachary, Alexxes, Mitchel and Sawyer Kempen, Garrett and Evan Kocourek, Abigail Smith, Laura Kempen and great grandsons, Ian and Aiden. Ken is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Kempen of Page, AZ, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as members of his wife's family brothers-in-law: Ralph Probst, Sherwood; Allen Probst, Saudi Arabia; sister-in-law, Nancy Probst, Appleton.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin. His passing leaves a deep gap in the lives of those he knew and loved.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Church in St. John, with Father Rev. Father Phillip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Hollandtown. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22 and on Thursday at church from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the Funeral Home.

    Robert M. Kempen passed away on Feb. 24, 2017 at Assisted Living in Page, Arizona. He was born Feb. 18, 1939 in Green Bay, WI, son of the late Henry and Leona (Heiting) Kempen. Bob was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1957 and served his country in the U.S. Army.
    In 1962 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Probst in St. John, WI. They became parents of son David (deceased) formerly of Page, AZ, daughter Connie (David) Cady of Danville, CA - children Ryan and Erin, son Wesley (Michelle) of Brillion, WI - children Isaiah, Alana, Isabell, Alyssa, son Stan (Renee) of Brillion, WI - children Zachary, Alexxes, Mitchel, Sawyer, daughter Lisa (Joe) Kocourek of Brillion, WI - children Garrett and Evan. Later they divorced. After over a decade of farming in WI, Bob moved to Arizona where he owned and operated Bob's Boat Transportation with son David and other employees. In his life Bob was a stockcar driver and enjoyed fishing, water-skiing and snowmobiling.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth.

    David A. Kempen, age 53, of Page, Arizona, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017. Dave was born on August 25, 1963 in Chilton, son of Phyllis (Probst) Kempen and Robert "Bob" Kempen. He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1982. After graduating high school he drove to Arizona to work with Bob at Bob's Boat Repair & Transport, earning his scuba certification and assisting with boat recovery and boat transportation. He then worked for many years as a truck driver in the greater Arizona area. Dave enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, and collecting and working on old trucks and tractors. When visiting Wisconsin he liked to attend tractor and steam engine shows with his brothers. Dave loved his nieces and nephews and was often found giving them rides on the four wheeler, golf cart or tractor. Dave lived life with a sense of humor and he loved to tell stories. Honoring his generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.
    Dave is survived by his mother, Phyllis; his siblings: sister, Connie (Dave) Cady of Danville, CA and children: Ryan and Erin, brother, Wes (Michelle) Kempen and children: Isaiah, Alana, Isabell, Alyssa, and adopted children: Laura and Abigail, brother, Stan (Renee) Kempen and children: Zachary, Alexxes, Mitchel, and Sawyer, and sister, Lisa (Joseph) Kocourek and children Garrett and Evan; uncles, Ralph and Allen Probst and aunt, Nancy Probst; significant other, Teri Dean; close family friends, Jesse and Robert Smith; other cousins, relatives, and friends.
    Dave was preceded in death by grandparents: Clemens and Crescentia Probst and Henry and Leona Kempen; his step-father: Kenneth Kempen; uncles, Vernon, Arlyn, and Leon Probst, Melvin Kempen, and an aunt, Karen Probst. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Brillion Community Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Sam Timm, with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Hollandtown.
    Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
