Obituary:
Vern Elmer Krueger, age 80, of Mission, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Life Care Hospitals of South Texas. He was born January 13, 1927, in the town of Center to the late Elmer and Olive (Deiner) Krueger.
Vern served in the Army of Occupation in Japan, from September 1946 until he was honorably discharged December 1947. He was past commander of American Legion Post 318 and past president of Lake Tomahawk Snowmobile Club. He also served 4 years as a member of Aladdin Villas Corporate board. Vern retired from Wisconsin Department of Corrections in 1983, after 32 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Stingle) Krueger whom he married April 24, 1948; his sister, Joyce Plamann, Black Creek; his seven children: Sandra (Michael) Bonner, Douglas (Brie) Krueger, Julie (Tom) White, Bernard (Lorraine) Krueger, Nancy Kasprzyk, Paul Krueger and Jennifer (Dale) Harris; and 11 grandchildren: Carrie (John) Mellage, Jori Bonner; Mark (Rachel), Tiffany and Brooke White; Collin Krueger; Lindsey and Ashley Kasprzyk; Jessica Krueger; Bryant Johnson and Holden Harris.
A funeral mass will be said for Vern E. Krueger at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek, with Father Brooks officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, May 10, at Valley Funeral Home.
