    Obituary:
    Mrs Blasius Riederer, 66, route 1, Cato, died today at home, following six months illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the home and at 9:30 from the St Mary's Catholic church at Clarks Mills, the Rev. Lawrence Loerke officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs Riederer, nee Mary Pritzl, was born in Cato in 1877 and in 1897 was married to Mr Riederer and they located on the present homestead farm. Survivors are the widower; five sons, Bernard, of this city, John, Valders, Edward, Cato, Robert, at home, and August, Camp Ibis, Calif; three daughters, Mrs Edward Wallander, of route 2, Reedsville, Mrs Walter Zipperer, Whitelaw, Mrs Leona Riederer, at home, brother, John, of Cato; three sisters, Mrs Barbara Tuschl of Whitelaw, Mrs Catherine Puser of Brillion, and Mrs John Meyer, of Medford, Wis; and 19 grandchildren. Mrs Riederer was a member of the Christian Mothers, whose members will recite the rosary at home Thursday evening at eight o'clock. The body will be moved to the Riederer home from the Pfeffer funeral home Wednesday afternoon.

    Mrs. Edward (Theresa) Wallander, 80, of Route 2 Reedsville, died Thursday morning, May 29, at Holy Family Extended Care Facilities, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Saturday at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders and 11 a.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. John Conrad will officiate and burial will be in St Mary Cemetery, Clarks Mills. Mrs Wallander, nee Theresa Riederer, was born July 23, 1899, at Cato, daughter of the late Blasius and Mary Pritzl Riederer. She lived all of her life in the Town of Cato. She was married to Edward J. Wallander June 8, 1920, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. She was an honorary member of Christian Mothers of Clarks Mills. Survivors include her husband, Edward; six sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Paulene of Route 1, Manitowoc, Edward and Lucille of Route 1, Manitowoc, Robert and Elaine of Whitelaw, Tom and Janice of Chandler, Ariz., Bernard and Lois of Route 1, Cato, and Allan and Sue of Sepulveda, Calif.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Harold Schuh of Chandler, Ariz., Marie and Joseph Johanek of Manitowoc Rita and Charles McKiel of La Porte, Ind. and Mrs. Laura Braun of Manitowoc; four brothers, Bernard and August of Manitowoc, Edward of Cato, and Robert of Whitelaw; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Remiker and Mrs. Harold Lemberger of Whitelaw; a sister-in-law, Mrs Hilda Pankratz of Whitelaw; 5 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 1997 at St Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Rev Richard Heyman will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with internment at St Mary's Cemetery, Clarks Mills. Leona was born July 2, 1914, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late Blasius and Mary Pritzl Riederer. She was educated at St Mary's School, Clarks Mills. She owned and operated Lemberger Beauty Shop in Whitelaw until her retirement, She married Harold I Lemberger on Nov. 23, 1955, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Harold preceded her in death on February 21, 1988. Leona was a member of St Michael Catholic Church, the Christian Mother's, and Altar Society of the Church. Surviving children include Marilyn and Bill Weier, Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Bob and Sue Lemberger, Manitowoc, Dick and Marcia Lemberger, Two Rivers, Lynn Lemberger, Fond Du Lac, and Mark and Bonnie Lemberger, Broomfield, Colorado; 14 grand-childen; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Wallander and Mary Zipperer-Remiker; five brothers, Bernard, Edward, Jack, August and Robert Riederer; and a great-grandson, Michael Dallas.     Robert M Riederer, age 74, a resident of Shady Lane Home and a former Whitelaw resident, died Saturday night, April 10, 1993, at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and 10:30 a.m. at St Michaels Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard Klinggesin will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at St Mary's Cemetery, Clarks Mills. Mr Riederer was born June 4, 1918, in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc County, son of the late Blasius and Mary Pritzl Riederer. He attended the St Mary School in Clarks Mills. He farmed in the Town of Cato and worked at Eggers Industries in Two Rivers. Upon his retirement he resided in the Village of Whitelaw except for the past seven years when he lived in Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc. He was a member of St Michael's Parish, its Holy Name Society and a lifetime member of the Manitowoc County Expo. Survivors include a sister Leona Lemberger, Manitowoc; a sister- in-law, Ann Riederer, Manitowoc; his niece and guardian Judy Vogel and her husband Jerome, of 10701 US 10, Cato, Wis.; other nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bernard Riederer, John Riederer, Hilda Riederer Pankratz, Edward and Irene Riederer, August and Dorothy Riederer, two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Theresa and Edward Wallander, Mary Zipperer Remiker, Walter Zipperer and Ed Remiker.     August Riederer, 67, of 1422 South 37th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, May 12, 1988, at the family residence. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Harold Berryman with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Riederer was born July 20, 1920, at Cato, Wisconsin, son of the late Blasius and Mary Pritzl Riederer. He married the former Dorothy Pauline Kaminski on May 29, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple resided in Manitowoc after their marriage. She preceded him in death July 12, 1987. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Riederer was employed at White House Milk Company and also at Lakeside Packing Company. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving as a Sergeant with the United States Army from 1942 to 1946. Survivors include a brother, Robert Riederer of Manitowoc a sister, Leona Lemberger of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Jack and Edward and two sisters, Theresa Wallander and Mary Zipperer Remiker. Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Father Berryman.

    Michael E. Wallander, age 71, of Clarks Mills died at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc, Tuesday, May 2, 2000. Funeral Services were held Thursday, May 4, 2000, at St.Mary's, Clarks Mills. Rev. John Conrad officiated with burial in the church cemetery. He was born in the town of Cato on September 5, 1928. Mike farmed in the town of Cato with his father. He married Pauline Zipperer on June 14, 1949, at St. Michael's, Whitelaw. With his unlimited energies, he started Mike E. Wallander Construction Co working to build a better world. He earned numerous awards for his designs. His legacy will live on in his many buildings for farmers and industry. He also built the trailer court in Cleveland. His employees were like an extended family enjoying fish boils with family and friends. He was also a dairy farmer until 1993 when he suffered a stroke. In 1995, he retired to Clarks Mills and was employed part-time by Reedsville Equity until December of 1998. Mike suffered another stroke and was hospitalized. Then in January of 1999, he had colon surgery. After that, Mike resided at St. Mary's Home for 16 months. We are very thankful that we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary in June of 1999. Mike enjoyed hunting by his cabin in Florence Wis., fishing on Lake Michigan, relaxing at the cottage on Long Lake near Brillion, traveling in the motor home across the country with his family and snowmobiling on the trails. He was instrumental in organizing Valders Viking Snowmobile Club. Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Clarks Mills Mens Club, Valders Lions Club, and Clarks Mills Sportsman's Club. He also was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of Holy Innocents Parish. He is survived by Pauline, his loving wife of 50 years; nine sons and four daughters, their spouses and 23 grandchildren Richard, Charles, John, Peter, and MaryClare of Spokane, WA. Michael G. (Bonnie), Robert, Pamela, Matthew, (fiancee Becky), Adam and Kyle of Whitelaw. Randall (Andrea), Ryan and Tyler of Manitowoc. Judith (Dave) Wagner, Jennifer and Jerrod of Waukesha.     Bernard F Riederer, age 71, of Mishawaka, Ind. died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at St Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Father William Sullivan will officiate with Bernard's final resting place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Mr Riederer was born August 14, 1925, son of Ann L Schuh and Bernard B Riederer of Manitowoc. Bernard was a member of the United States Navy for two and one-half years. His other accomplishments include a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University and a Master of Science degree from Indiana University. He married Phyllis M O'Neil, originally of Oconto, Wis, November 27, 1947. They were married for 49 years. He was a life member of the National Education Association, an honorary member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, a past president of the Mishawaka Rotary Club, and a past president of the Ushers Club of St Monica Catholic Church. He was employed by the City Schools of Mishawaka from 1949-1985. Bernard taught math for 23 years, 17 of which he also coached track and four of which he also taught science and served as vice principal for 13 years entirely at Beiger School. Since 1987, Bernard has been Vice President of LRT Plastics, Inc. of Elkhart, Ind. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis M O'Neil; his children, Catherine L Besyner, Duncanville, Texas, and her husband James, Sue A Hurlbut, Mishawaka, Ind, Brian B Riederer, South Bend, Ind; three grand- children; a sister, Virginia Pausig and her husband Gerald, Avondale, Ariz; a brother, Richard K Riederer and his wife Bonnie, Sewickly, Penn. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Jerome Riederer. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
