    Margaret Bernard, Kaukauna, age 90, died Wednesday April 7, 2004 at St. Paul Home. Margaret was born, August 30, 1913 the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Lange) Skalmusky in Eland, WI. She married Robert Bernard on January 14, 1930 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna, they celebrated 74 years together, he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. Margaret belonged to Holy Cross Church, the Ladies Altar Society, and was a past member of the Golden Agers. She liked to play cards, dart ball, bake cookies and go shopping. She retired from Multifoods on March 31, 1976 after 31 years of service.
    She is survived by her daughter and son in law: Betty (Gerald) Nytes of Kaukauna; two grandchildren: Nancy (Dan) Meacham, Appleton and their children: Christina, Stefanie and Brianna and Lisa (Keith) Fassbender, Kaukauna, and their children, Megan, Melissa and Kyle; a sister, Irene Borree of Darboy and a brother, Marvin (Vivian) Skalmusky of Kaukauna.
    Her parents, her husband, a sister, Alice Bowlby and a brother-in-law, Alvin Borree, preceded her in death.
    The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday April 12, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarky officiating. Friends will be received on Monday at Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial is being established in Margaret's name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at St. Paul Home for the kindness, care and concern they gave Margaret during her time there.

    Irene L. Borree (formerly of Kaukauna), age 95, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Brewster Village. She was born July 18, 1916 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Lang) Skalmusky. On June 17, 1939 she was united in marriage to Alvin A. Borree and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Alvin preceded her in death in 1993. Irene was a long standing and faithful member of Immanuel UCC in Kaukauna. She and Alvin were both active in the Fox Valley Pigeon Club as well as the Fox Valley Beagle Club. Irene enjoyed playing cards, especially sheepshead.
    She is survived by a sister-in-law, Vivian Skalmusky, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Marvin, and her sisters: Alice and Margaret.
    Funeral services for Irene will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at IMMANUUEL UNITED CHURCH of CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna with Rev. James Deckert officiating.     Marvin F. Skalmusky, Kaukauna, age 86, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at St. Paul Home. He was born in Kaukauna on August 1, 1920, to the late John and Elizabeth (Lange) Skalmusky. Marvin married Vivian Bevers at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute on February 14, 1942. He retired from Clinton Corn Processing Company as a technical sales representative. Marvin started his career in the paper industry at the Institute of Paper Chemistry while there he was responsible for many patents and coached the company ball team. Marvin enjoyed golfing at Countryside Golf Club, fishing and playing cards, especially Cribbage and Sheephead. He served on the Kaukauna Industrial Park committee for many years. Marvin cherished time spent with his family.
    Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vivian; four children: Carolyn (Neal) Dantes, Quincy, MI; Marva (Charles) Ohman, Combined Locks; Gary (Charlene), Kaukauna; and Linda (Bill) Mavrinac, Huntley, IL; grandchildren: Bud, Greg and Brett (Jennifer) Pothoof, Jody Barkdull, Jeff Kime, Marisa (Quinn) Schartner, Shalene (Derek) Schmitt, Chas and Ashley Skalmusky, Wesley and Adrian Fait, Ryan and Jordan Mavrinac, Tyra and Chelsa Ohman, Eric Dantes and Joey Hassinger; 16 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, John Hassinger; a sister, Irene L. Borree; a niece, Betty (Jerry) Nytes; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Eunice (Williard) McCabe, Audrey (Jerry) Schmidt, Linda (Mark) Hietpas, Ruth Bevers, Jesse (Sally) Bevers, Wesley (Marge) Bevers, Dave (Nancy) Bevers, and Michael (Darlene) Bevers. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Hassinger; an infant son, Joseph; sisters and brothers-in law: Alice (Howard) Bowbly, Margaret (Robert) Bernard and Alvin Borree; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Orval and Carol Bevers.
    The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 7, 2007, at St. Aloysius Parish (2401 Main Ave. Kaukauna), with the Rev. Jerome Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday after 9:00 a.m., until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    Marvin's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St Paul's nursing home for their care of Marvin and for supporting the family in his final days. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Meyer and Dr. Phillips.

    Betty (Bernard) Nytes, age 78, of Kaukauna, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center following an 8-year struggle with ovarian cancer. Betty was born on June 17, 1930, in Kaukauna, the only child of Robert and Margaret (Skalmusky) Bernard. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1948, and was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Jerry Nytes on June 6, 1953. They shared 55 years together. She was employed at Wisconsin-Michigan Power Company in Appleton as a receptionist from 1948 until 1959, and at Kaukauna Area Schools from 1969 until 1992, when she retired. Betty was preceded in death by her parents in 2004.
    She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughter, Nancy, and her children: Christina, Stefanie and Brianna Meacham of Darboy; her daughter Lisa (Keith) Fassbender and their children: Megan (Chris) Bayorgeon, Melissa and Kyle Fassbender, all of Kaukauna; two great-grandchildren: Quintin and Collyn Bayorgeon of Kaukauna. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Cleo (Hilary) Swiechowski of Menasha and Alice Nytes of Kaukauna; nieces, nephews, and an aunt, Irene Borree.
    Betty enjoyed playing cards, bridge, sheepshead, golf, reading and traveling. She also enjoyed going to lunch every two months with her '48' classmates. Betty was a member of the Fox Valley Golf Club and served as President of the Ladies Golf League in 1968. On July 11, 1982, she had a hole-in-one on number 8. She was a member of the Lady Elks for many years and was secretary in 1963. Betty was also a former member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Kaukauna.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Aloysius Site, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Betty's name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna is assisting the family (920-766-2099).
    The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Werner and his staff at the Kaukauna Clinic, and the nursing staff at the AMC Cancer Unit, for the compassion, support, and wonderful care they provided throughout this difficult time.
