Margaret married Andrew Jansen on October 20, 1925; he prec eded her in death. She was employed by St. Vincent Hospital for many year s. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, bowling, watching wrestling and footbal l. She also enjoyed swimming, which she did until she was in her 80’s.     Young, George P. George P. Young, Arizona formerly of Shiocton, age 97 passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Arizona. George was born on March 25 in the Town of Liberty, Wisconsin son of the late Isaac and Eva (Bessette) Young. George enjoyed farming and held various jobs throughout his life.
    He is survived by two daughters: Dolly (John) Peters, Appleton Betty (Ron) Hutchison, Shiocton four sons: Arthur Young, Nichols Ruben Young, Safford, Arizona Thomas Young, Royalton James (Jean) Young, Abrahms a daughter in-law, Karen Young, Shawano a sister Rella Ziesemer, Kaukauna twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild also survive George.
    He was preceded in death by a son John, a brother Virgil, ex-wife Violet Cavner, two sisters: Angeline Tabat, Nora Oak and a granddaughter Kelly Peters.
    Funeral services for George will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder in Shiocton. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery in Shiocton. Friends may call at the funeral home in Shiocton on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

    Obituary:
    Robert Bessette, 79, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Feb. 19, 2010, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born on Nov. 14, 1930, in Appleton. Bob graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and St. Mary's Catholic High School in Menasha. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 4 years as a Ranger. He was a Sergeant in the Co "K" 16th INF Regt. Rangers 1st Division. After returning from service he received his Business Degree at the Technical College. On January 30, 1954, he married Betty Ann Diedrich. Bob retired in December of 1992 after 32 years with We Energies. He was a member of the DAV. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
    He always looked forward to summer when it was time to pack up the boat and head to Roberts Lake with his wife and sister-in-law Sharon. Bob could stay on the lake for hours fishing. After his laryngectomy eleven years ago he had to give up golf and fishing, but he enjoyed going to Oneida with his wife's other sister Mary and niece Jean "Nursey."
    Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Bessette, Appleton; children: Stuart Bessette, Miamisburg, Ohio; Suzanne McDowell, Reno, Nevada and Bill Bessette of Madison; six grandchildren: Brian (Sasha), Bridgette and Amy Bessette; Michael (Stephie), Matthew and Brianne McDowell; great-grandson: London McDowell; brother: Milo VanOudenhoven, Appleton and his sister: Beverly (Ron) VanAcker, The Villages, Florida. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Gen and stepfather Peter VanOudenhoven, his mother and father-in-law, Ken and Mable Diedrich and an infant twin grandson Christopher.
    The memorial service for Robert will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Full military honors will be performed following the service. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's honor may be directed to ThedaCare at Home Hospice or Cherry Meadows Hospice.

    Glenn B. Bessette, 89, of Florida, formerly of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in Hialeah Gardens, Florida. He was born June 14, 1928 in Appleton, the son of Delore and Dorothy (Selig) Bessette.
    An accomplished champion stock car racer, an avid motorcyclist, and a man that loved to travel, Glenn was an operating engineer that enabled him to travel the world as a company representative. His travels spanned through Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and South America. He was a world leader in the technology of Concrete Pumps with regard to constructing large commercial buildings and defining the supporting infrastructure for developing countries.
    Glenn is survived by his children: Katherine and husband Cecil Carl, Steven Glenn Bessette, and Marysue Stronach; grandchildren: James Mercereau, Easton, Chandler and Olivia Stronach, and Steven Bessette Jr.; great grandchildren: Caitlin Hall, Cassidi, Anberlyn and Zaidyn Mercereau; siblings: Audry Erber and Ronnie Bessette; and numerous extended family members.
    Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife: Peggy; daughter: Sharon Kay Bessette Maline; grandchildren: Sheldon Stronach and Jamie Bessette; and a sister: Delores Otto.

She married Richard Otto on November 29, 1952. Delores was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She managed the Quality Control Department and also acted as Store Manager at Rich Products Corporation for over 25 years, retiring in 2000.     Lorraine M. Van Straten, of Shiocton, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Kindred Hearts in New London. Lorraine was born in the Deer Creek Township on February 9, 1920, daughter of the late Noah and Louise (Lorge) Surprise. She lived in Shiocton and was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church. Lorraine married Gordon Riehl in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1977. In January of 1983, she married Dale Van Straten. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was employed by the Shiocton Kraut Factory for 15 years and retired from Voith Fabrics in Appleton.
    Lorraine is survived by two sons: Glenn (Marion) Riehl, Shiocton and Kieth (Kris) Riehl, Shiocton; a daughter-in-law, Loretta (Len) Bellile; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Besides her parents and husbands, Lorraine is preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, a son Ralph, a daughter Suzanne Roloff, a daughter-in-law Karen Riehl, and a grandson Jessie Joe Griesbach.

    Kenneth F. Suprise of Hortonville, 81, passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at New London Family Medical Center. Ken was born on May 13, 1923, in Bear Creek son of the late Frank and Mae (Roberts) Suprise. He was united in marriage on May 29, 1946, to Margaret Jamison at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Miron Construction for over forty years and also at Griesbach Chevrolet Garage in Hortonville for 28 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Hammond-Schmit Post #55 of Hortonville for many years. Ken served as a director at the New London Fish and Game Club. He was a member of the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. He enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening and hunting.

    Neal N. Suprise, age 71, of W7454 Mills St., Town of Wescott, Shawano, went with our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 11, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Survivors include his wife Bonnie, Town of Wescott; two sons: Billy (Rowena) and Brian (Kathy) Suprise, both of Shawano; four grandchildren: Willam and Jennifer Suprise, Ryan (Lori) Forbey and Jeremy Forbey; his great-grandchildren: Gerritt and Christa Forbey, all of Shawano; a brother, Dale (Caroline) Suprise, New London; three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends locally and in Aruba; and his special neighbors, Harry and Wilma Beilfuss.

    Daila H. Platte, age 90, of New London, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born May 5, 1927 in Elderon, WI, daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Bessett) Feavel and attended school in New London.
    Daila married Clinton Platte and together they raised their 5 children. Daila was trained as a Physical Therapist and worked for many area medical facilities. She was a faithful member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London.
    Daila was an avid trout fisherwoman and cross-country skier. She enjoyed her trips up to Lakewood and out to California to visit her sons. Daila and her son, Kevin participated in a skydive when she was 79 years old! Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
    Daila is survived by her 3 sons: Daniel Platte, Randall Platte and Kevin Platte (Maricruz); 6 grandchildren: Kim Kargus, Lisa Young, Keith Platte, Gretchen Platte, Kevin Platte II and Eva Platte and 8 great-grandchildren: Brandi Kargus, Matt Palmer, Aydin Clemens, Elliott Clemens, Nicole Young, Aleesa Young, Jake Palmer and Justin Palmer.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton; a daughter, Cheryl Palmer; a son, Jeff Platte and a grandson, Tim Palmer.
    Visitation will be held at MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD CATHOLIC CHURCH (712 S. Pearl St., New London), Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9 to 11 AM.     Charles was born in Shiocton, WI on December 4, 1926, the son of the late John and Arlene (Guyette) Weber. Charles married the love of his life Mary P. Roberts, September 30, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek, WI. They shared 56 years together before she preceded him in death on February 15, 2004.
    Charles worked at American Can Paper Mill for 42 years. He also enjoyed working on his farm in Bear Creek where he planted crops and raised beef for many years before moving to New London.
    Charles is survived by his daughters: Rita Malouf, (New London) and Sandra (Randall) Lemke (Marion); sons: Charles Jr. (Kim) Weber (New London) and James (Glenda) Weber (Ogdensburg); grandchildren: Randall Malouf, William Malouf, Michael Malouf, Allen Roberts, Jonathon Weber, Katie Watters, Crystal Lemke, Amber Lemke, Carie Weber and Lucas Weber; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    Charles is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; daughters, Adela, Patricia, and Kathleen; grandsons, Danny Roberts and JJ Weber; sisters, Magdalene (Franklin) Samson and Madeline (Albert) Knapp; brother, Andrew (Eloise) Weber; and son-in-laws, Lester Malouf and Paul Roberts.

She later married Harvey Brandt on June 16, 1980, and he also preceded her in death on May 9, 2005. Millie was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish, Neenah. Mildred was employed with Theda Clark Medical Center for 25 years as a housekeeper. She will be remembered for living a full life that was always devoted to her family. Mildred enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family at supper clubs; especially, Mer & Jackie's Supper Club.
    Mildred is survived by her 2 sons: Gregory G. (Pat) Harbor, Corbett W. (Jean) Harbor; 3 stepchildren: Brian (Jill) Brandt, Meredith (Phil) Seidl, Amy (Mike) Nordlee; 5 grandchildren: Nancy (Kurt) Jenicek, Melisa Triggiano, Corbett G. (Letha) Harbor, Gregory C. Harbor, and Haley (Tim Pierre) Harbor; 8 great grandchildren: Boone, Marisa, Alexia, Chance, Hunter, Kaleb, Nik, and Noah; 2 sisters: Marie Seehafer and Marilyn Siebert; a brother-in-law: Royal Brandt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    In addition to her husband's, Mildred was further preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings: Merlin (Jacqueline) Bessette, Louis (Louise) Bessette, and Madelyn (Louis) Afeldt.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be Tuesday at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Mildred's name.
    Millie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Millie's niece and nephew, Shirley Smith and Joe Bessette, for all their wonderful tender loving care.

    Glenn J. Riehl, age 72, died suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2016. Glenn was born on April 25, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Gordon and Lorraine Riehl. He lived in Shiocton all his life. Glenn served three years in the Army, if it had wheels, he could drive it. He then spent the majority of his working career at Appvion (formerly Appleton Papers). Glenn was united in marriage to Karen Samuel in September of 1966. She preceded him in death in June of 1988. Glenn was united in marriage to Marion Tyrrell on May 4, 1991 and they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
    Glenn enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing with Tiger, watching the Badgers, Brewers and Packers, snowmobiling and NASCAR, although it was never the same for him after #3 left the race. He enjoyed working for and attending the Shiocton Fly-In. He was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, his lawn and his meticulously organized garage.
    In his younger years Glenn enjoyed fast pitch softball, fishing (aka violating), bowling, playing cards, camping at Kastle Kampground and hunting at the Boar's Nest.

    Gerald Suprise, 62, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Brewster Village.
    Jerry was born on July 24, 1949 to Laronzle "Larry" and Anna (Jamison) Suprise. He was always a happy go lucky guy and would always greet you with a hand shake and a smile. Jerry liked watching movies especially westerns and football. His favorite color was yellow and he loved going to the activities that Brewster Village provided.

    Steven D. Suprise "Mooey", age 58, New London, died at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2013.
    Steve was born in New London, Wisconsin on April 18, 1955, the son of Dale and Caroline (Drath) Suprise. He was baptized at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He attended New London High School, graduating in 1973. Following high school Steve attended Fox Valley Technical College studying Industrial Automation. For 39 ½ years Steve was employed by Neenah Foundry as a Maintenance Electrician. On June 7, 2003, he was united in marriage to Theresa Petit in Medina.
    Steve was an extremely hard worker, enjoyed reading, watching sci-fi and fantasy films, camping, fishing, attending Country USA and rooting for his favorite teams: the Packers, Brewers, and Timber Rattlers. He will be remembered for his love of texting and Facebook, but most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. Steve's greatest passion in life was the love for his grandchildren.

She worked at Bethany Home in Waupaca as a CNA. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family and camping. She had a special place in her heart for her little dogs.

She is further survived by her siblings, Charles Jr. (Kim) Weber, Sandy Lemke, and James (Glenda) Weber, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    Rita is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester in 2007; and sisters, Adela, Patricia, and Kathleen.
    A funeral service for Rita will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Cline and Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New London.

    Kenneth R. Affeldt, age 63, Shiocton died on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Ken was born on March 10, 1949, in Appleton son of the late Louis and Madeline (Bessette) Affeldt. Ken proudly served his country in Vietnam. He worked very hard until his tragic fall and head injury causing his retirement.
    Ken is survived by four sons, Kenneth Jr. (Marcy), their children: Daniel, Kassandra and Dakota; Jamie; Tim, his sons, Austin and Logan; and Tony (Rachel), their children, Hailey and Mason; longtime girlfriend, Juleen Vallafskey. Brothers and sisters: Shirley, Louis Jr., Bev (Roger), Ray (Ellen) and Russ (Sally). He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who Ken considered family.
    He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Beyer in 1996 and a sister Linda.
    Funeral services for Ken will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton with Rev. Mike Isbill officiating. Burial will be in the St. Denis Cemetery, Town of Bovina. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Rennes Health Care and also to Heartland Hospice.

    Corbett W. Harbor, 75, Neenah, was called to his eternal home on January 9, 2017. He was born on November 19, 1941, in Green Bay, the son of Willard W. and Mildred R. (Bessette) Harbor. Cub was a journeyman tool and die maker, working for many local companies over the years, most recently with Advanced Tooling Specialists in Menasha. He was united in marriage to Jean Marie Selenske on June 8, 1960, in Antigo, and they shared 53 wonderful years together. Corbett was a devoted family man, who prided himself in teaching his children anything and everything he could. Corby loved to golf, especially for the JJ Keller Golf League for 27 years. He thoroughly enjoyed the golfing trips with his brother Greg and many wonderful friends. Corbett was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Neenah. He was a fun loving guy who will be missed by his many friends at ICU.
    Corbett is survived by his wife: Jean; 3 children: Nancy (Kurt) Jenicek, Melisa Triggiano, and Corbett G. (Letha) Harbor; 5 grandchildren: Boone, Marisa, Kaleb, Nikolaas, and Noah; a brother: Gregory G. (Pat) Harbor; several extended family members and friends.
    Corbett was preceded in death by his parents.
    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah, with Rev. Ricky P. Schroeder officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Corbett's name.
    Corbett's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Corbett's cousins, Shirley Smith and Joe Bessette for always being there for Corby.

    Daniel Affeldt, two-month-old son of Mr & Mrs Raymond Affeldt, 1600 N Summit St. died unexpectedly this morning. Death was due to natural causes, according to C.J. Schink, deputy Outagamie County coroner. The child was being treated for pneumonia.
