    Ruth Ann Bestler, 74, Neena h, passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Theda Clark Medical Center, Ne enah. She was born March 5, 1930, in Kaukauna daughter of the late Conn ie and Ella (Krueger) Giesbers. Ruth married John Bestler November 5, 195 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. Mrs. Bestler was a member of S t. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah and volunteered at YMCA with t he Senior Program. Ruth enjoyed going on long walks and swimming, crosswo rd puzzles and enjoyed old movies.Ruth is survived by her husband, John; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie ( Jeff) Vander Woude and their children, Mackenzie and Kolby, Sioux Falls, S .D.; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig (Claire) Bestler, and their son, Hu e, Neenah; sister, Jane (George) Van Lyssel, Appleton.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mae Johnson.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at St. Ma rgaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah with Rev. William Kuhr officiating. Fr iends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Kessler Funeral Home a nd at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A prayer servi ce will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment wi ll be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for the Senior Pro gram at the YMCA, Neenah.Ruth's family wishes to extend a special thank you to Joan and Bernie Best ler and Claire Bestler for their care and support.KESSLER FUNERAL HOME3 04 S.     Obituary:
    Daniel E. Rice, 58, Town of Freedom, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. He was born in Appleton on Nov. 16, 1949, to Warren and Mary Jane (Giesbers) Rice. Dan graduated from Appleton West and worked at Metso Co. for 35 years as a machinist. He married Jenny St. Louis on Aug. 22, 1975. Dan enjoyed spending time with his family at Kelly Lake. He was a skilled hobbyist, very gifted with his hands, always creating something, especially the beautiful stained glass in the entrance and back doors of their home.
    Survivors include his wife, Jenny; son, Matthew (Jamie) Rice, Menasha; daughter, Amanda (Andrew) Uphill, Combined Locks; one grandson, Michael Daniel; mother, Jane Van Lyssel, Appleton; a sister, Connie Rice, Missouri, two brothers: Jeffery (Beverly) Rice, Greenville and Russell (Heidi) Rice, Grand Chute; mother-in-law, Marcy (Arthur) Meulemans. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, a stepsister and a stepbrother.
    Dan was preceded in death by his father, Warren; sister-in-law, Carol and step-father, George Van Lyssel.
    The family would like to thank Theda Care Hospice especially nurse Suzi and his caregiver David.
    Funeral services for Dan will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at the Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Garbie officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 2 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
