    Obituary:
    Kenneth H. Romenesko, age 93, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Ken was born in Little Chute on August 3, 1924 to the late Walter and Mabel (Newhouse) Romenesko. He graduated with the class of 1941 at Freedom High School. Following High School Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany and occupied Japan. On June 8, 1948, he was united in marriage to Rosemary DeJong at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. The couple enjoyed 62 years together until Rosemary's passing in 2010. Ken graduated with a B.A. at St. Norbert College in 1949. After college, he went to work for Richard U. Landreman as a C.P.A. After a few mergers, Schumaker Romenesko and Associates was formed ending up with 110 employees when he retired as President in 1988.
    Ken was very active in the community. He was a member and past President of the Appleton Serra Club, past Chairman of Appleton Parks and Recreation, Board of Directors at the Appleton YMCA, St. Elizabeth Hospital Board of Directors, St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Golden Knights of St. Norbert, Knights of Columbus, Community Foundation of the Fox Cities, Freedom VFW Post 7692, and Charter Member of the Romenesko Schmere Association. Ken was also very active at St. Pius X and St. Bernard Catholic Churches in Appleton. He enjoyed golf, reading, watching the Packers and Brewers, and playing cards - especially Bridge.
    He will be missed by his daughter, Susan (Jim) Knapstein, Appleton; son Terry (Connie) Romenesko, Neenah; five grandchildren, Kari (Landon) Schultz, Kelly (Steve) Sathre, Rebecca (Joe) Lehocky, Tyler Romenesko and Brady Romenesko; nine great-grandchildren, Nolan and Lyla Schultz, Mason and Livia Sathre, Hailee Blu and Hanna Bresser, Cherish and Londyn Lehocky, and Rylee Romenesko. 3 brothers, Gerald (Pat) Romenesko, Appleton, Merle (Rosie) Romenesko, Walworth, and Clyde (Margaret) Romenesko, De Pere. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
    Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosemary, son Robert, 4 brothers: Ray, Orv, Bob, and Vern, and sister Arlene.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, September 23, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St. Appleton, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Full military honors performed by Freedom VFW Post 7692 will follow. Friends may visit on Saturday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel from 9 am until the cortege leaves for church at 10:30 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region in the Ken and Rosemary Romenesko Charitable Fund and St. Bernard Catholic Church.
    The family would like to thank the staff at Touchmark for the compassionate care given to Ken.
