    Obituary:
    Richard J. Flenz, age 86, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Renaissance Assisted Living in Appleton. He was born on January 30, 1926, in Little Chute, the son of the late Albert and Anna (Lensen) Flenz. On August 9, 1947, Richard married Leone E. Fahrenkrug at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2005, after 57 wonderful years of marriage. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Johnston-Blessman Post 38 American Legion in Appleton. Richard was employed at Wisconsin Michigan Power Company, now known as WE Energies. He was a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church since 1958, and was involved with ushering, counting the offerings, folding the church bulletins, and the choir.
    Richard is survived by his children: Mary Ann (James) Langlois; Donna Flenz; Bonnie (Robert) Darrow; and Donald J. (Stephanie) Flenz; grandchildren: Erik Shaw and Erin (Chris) Ramirez; Nicole (Scott) Boesch, Daniel (Sara) Langlois and Jennifer (John) Heimann; Brett Terrien and Jill (Craig) Baumeister; Andrew (Chris) Flenz and Donald R. Flenz; step-grandchildren: Jesse, Cole, and Benjamin Cotherman; and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter, Janice Flenz Shaw.
    The funeral service for Richard will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade Street, Appleton. Rev. Dee Sim will be officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church are appreciated. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    The family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living and Asera Care, for the wonderful loving care you provided to our dad.

    Janice M. Shaw, age 60, of Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly at Appleton Medical Center on March 16, 2008. Born January 27, 1948, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to Richard and the late Leone Flenz. She married Gary W. Shaw Sr. July 14, 1978, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jan was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending her days researching genealogy.
    Jan is survived by her husband, father, three sisters, one brother, two children, five step children, and nine grandchildren.
    The family would like to thank the staff of Appleton Medical Center for their support.l
