    Obituary:
    Schindler, Charles Robert
    92, of Saint Petersburg, Florida passed away on July 26, 2013, of complications from Parkinson disease. A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, he was born December 24, 1920, son of Lloyd and Adah (Chandler) Schindler. C. Robert is a World War II Navy veteran serving on the USS Randolph. He married Rita Tillman on February 6, 1943 in Appleton, Wisconsin and shared 44 years of marriage before her passing on November 12, 1987.
    He was a Registered Land Surveyor. In 1985 he retired after 39 years with the City of Appleton as the City Land Surveyor. He also had a self-employed business C.R. Schindler Land Surveying. He was a member of the USS Randolph Reunion Association, a life member of the VFW, and member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors. C. Robert enjoyed playing music and singing in local bands and the U.S. Navy Band. He became a recognized square dancer caller, a trophy winning archer, a blue ribbon photographer, and an accomplished duplicate Bridge player.
    He is survived by two sons, Gary Schindler of Saint Petersburg, FL and Mark (Sandra) Schindler of Saint Petersburg, FL. Two granddaughters, Lynette (Jay) Gray of Amherst, WI, Laura (Drew) Brokl of Bloomington, MN; five great -grandchildren, Emily Gray, Brandon Roberts, Ryan Brokl, Josh Brokl and Lucas Brokl, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are parents Lloyd & Adah Schindler; wife, Rita Schindler; grandson, Scott Schindler, daughter-in-law, Karen Schindler; sister, Helen Walker Derr; brother, Jack Schindler, and a very special friend Anne Kollen. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, Wisconsin.
