    Carol Jean Van Asten, 78, Darboy, entered into eternal life on December 3, 2013. Carol
    was born on December 29, 1934 to Peter and Anna (Bergman) Evers in Little Chute. On September 21, 1953 she married Jerome "Whitey" Van Asten at St. John Catholic Church. Carol and Whitey lived in Darboy most of their lives and were longtime members of Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Angels Church in Darboy.
    Carol will be sadly missed by her husband Jerome "Whitey" Van Asten, children: Tom (Barb) Van Asten, Pam (Gary) Schiedermayer, Jeff (Lois) Van Asten, Steve (Kelly) Van Asten, Mike (Jessica) Zielinski, grandchildren; Carissa, Kelsie, Kayla and Carlie Van Asten, Nicholas and Jeremie Schiedermayer, Tyler and Maria Van Asten, Kashena and Annalee Van Asten, Gavin and Lauren Zielinski, brother Orv (Shirley) Evers, six sisters: Dorothy Rieder, Verne Kaminski, Eve Gambsky, Mardie (Jim) Smith, Aud Huss, Shirley (Jerry) Broeren, sisters-in-law Helen Evers and Vonnie Natrop, brother-in-law Gordy (Mona) Van Asten, close friend Elaine, as well as many other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her precious youngest daughter Sara Ann (Van Asten) Zielinski, grandson Eli Thomas Van Asten, brother Joe Evers, sister Marion (Joe) Joosten, brothers-in-law Carl Rieder, Norb Kaminski, Fay Gambsky, Ron Huss, Vernon Verhoeven, Don Natrop, sister-in-law Donna Van Asten and nephew Jimmer Smith.
    Carol, "Mrs. Clean", loved being with her family and friends but most of all, spending quality time with her grandkids. Her passions included making homemade bread, therapeutic staining and varnishing with her sisters and friends, crocheting and quilting. She also loved volunteering at Holy Angel's School for Taco Tuesday, Bingo, Funerals and the annual cookie walk.
    A celebration of Carol's life will be on Saturday December 7, 2013 at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Angels Church W2796 Hwy KK in Darboy at 12:00 pm with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to our special friends Mary Kalies, Mary Weber and the staff of Right at Home, In Home Care for their great compassion and care. Also thank you to the entire staff at Cherry Meadows.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Carol's name.

    Zielinski, Sara Ann,(Van Asten ), "Rara",LaCrosse, WIAge 29, died Sunday January 4, 2004 as a result of a traffic accident. Sa ra was born April 7, 1974 to Jerome "Whitey" and Carol (Evers) Van Ast en in Appleton. She married her best friend and soul mate, Michael Zielins ki on January 10, 2003 in Jamaica. Sara graduated from Kimberly High Scho ol as Valedictorian and continued her undergraduate studies at St. Norbert 's College. She earned her master's degree from Old Dominion Universit y, VA in Physical Therapy. Sara had been employed by South Hampton Memoria l, Franklin VA, Schubbe Resch Chiropractic & Physical Therapy and most rec ently at Innovations Rehabilitation in Sparta, WI. She helped to bring t he best out of people through her kind and caring nature. Sara had a passi on to help, which led her to her career in physical therapy. Through her p ursuit of higher education she continually strived to make herself better.Family and friends were integral parts of Sara's life. She will be great ly missed by all who knew her, especially her husband Michael, her parent s, Michael's parents who considered Sara the daughter they never had, h er dear friend and sister, her brothers, her ten nieces and nephews, a ll of her very special friends and the many aunts, uncles, cousins, and gr andparents from both families.She is survived by her husband, Michael Zielinski; her parents, Whitey (Ca rol) Van Asten of Darboy; her three brothers, Tom (Barb) Van Asten of Free dom and their children, Carissa, Kelsie, Kayla and Carlie; Jeff (Lois) V an Asten of Darboy and their children, Tyler and Maria; Steve (Kelly) V an Asten of Darboy and their children Kashena and Annalee; her sister, P am (Gary) Schiedermayer of Darboy and their children Nicholas and Jeremi e; Michael's parents Tom and Natalie Zielinski of Neenah and Michael's t wo brothers, Tommy and Mark Zielinski. She will be further missed by Grand ma Ceil Van Asten and Michael's grandparents John and Jackie Zielinski.She was preceded in death by her nephew, Eli Thomas Van Asten, Ann and Ar ne Van Asten, Ann and Peter Evers, and Natalia and Luis Alcantar.Sara's Fu neral Liturgy will be 3:15 p.m. on Friday January 9, at HOLY ANGELS CATHOL IC CHURCH, W2796 Highway KK, Darboy with Msgr. James Vanden Hogan presidi ng and Fr. Tom Pomeroy concelebrating. Friends will be received on Frid ay at Church from 12 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flower s, an educational fund for students of physical therapy will be establish ed in her name. Sara's wish to help others through organ donation has be en fulfilled.
