    Alvin G. Ristow, 86, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007. He was born May 16, 1921, in Wrightstown to the late Wilhelm and Elizabeth (Kleuskens) Ristow. Alvin attended Green Bay West High School where he graduated in 1941. Alvin then served in the United States Air Force in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 until 1945. He married Ruth Grootemont on October 23, 1945, and they shared 61 years of marriage together. Alvin began his firefighting career in 1953 with the Appleton Fire Department and retired in 1979. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter and enjoyed watching Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packer games.
    Alvin is lovingly survived by his children, Sue Ristow, Milwaukee; Robert (Judy) Ristow, New London; John Ristow and his special friend, Debra George, Crivitz; Rose Fischer, Las Vegas; Mary (Tom) Patza, Seymour; sister, Mildred Carbine, Appleton and brother, Merril Ristow, Florida. Alvin will also be sadly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and three children, William Ristow, Barbara Verrier and James Ristow.
    The funeral liturgy for Alvin will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, with Father Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery.
    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Brewster Village, Dr. Ballard and Carolina Manor for all their care and support of Alvin.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

    James A. Ristow, 1346 West Lawrence St., Age 18, died early Sunday following a brief illness. He was born January 9, 1957 in Appleton and resided in Appleton his entire lifetime. James was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin G. Ristow; four sisters, Suzanne J. of Appleton, Mrs. Rose Perion of Appleton, Barbara A. and Mary J. both at home; two brothers, Robert M. of Kaukauna, and John T. of Appleton; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Theresa Grootemont of Appleton; nieces and nephews. A brother, Bill, preceded him in death June 13, 1970. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Timon Costello officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ellenbecker-Anderson Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. when the cortege will leave for the church. The scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

    Jason Scott Verrier, 34, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 following a snowmobile accident.
    Jason is survived by his wife Amanda, son Logan, father Dennis Verrier, siblings; twin brother Andrew (Maggie) Verrier, Abby Ellenbecker, Nickolas (Kim Smith) Verrier, and Katherine Verrier, grandmother Jeanette Verrier, nieces and nephews; Emily, Eleanor, and Samantha Verrier, Trakker Ellenbecker, Cecilia Verrier, Jaxsyn and Taylor Scott, 2nd cousins; Zachary and Jacob Fischer, in-laws Connie (Jim) Baumgart, and brother-in-law Andrew (Bethany) Gaustad. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Verrier, grandparents; Frank Verrier and Al and Ruth Ristow, and cousin William Ristow.
    Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

    William J. Ristow, 34, Neenah, formerly of Crivitz, passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. He was born on June 25, 1976, in Appleton, the son of John and Kathleen (Anholzer) Ristow. Bill loved the outdoors, white water rafting, fishing, but most of all he adored his children.
    He is survived by his children, Coltin and Vanessa and their mother Trista Miller; mother, Kathy (Scott) Hickinbotham, Clemmons, North Carolina; father, John (Deb) Ristow, Crivitz; sister, Christine (Brian) Wepfer, Neenah; brother, Michael Ristow, Maui, Hawaii; stepsisters and brothers, Molly (Damian) Pennings, Andy Hickinbotham and Jennifer (Joel) Schampers; Chad (Tracy) Hensen and Jessica Hensen; nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Matthew, Megan, Elana, Logan and Kendra. Bill is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Alvin Ristow; William and Della Anholzer; and his nephew, Trevor Ristow.
    The memorial service for Bill will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME. Rev. Dick Schaefer will be officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for his children.
