    Steven J. Newhouse, age 21, Menasha, passed away, surrounded by his fami ly and friends on Friday, July 2, 2004, after a courageous battle with a c ancerous brain tumor. Steven was born Jan. 1, 1983, the son of Jeffrey a nd Karen (Young) Newhouse. He was a 2001, graduate of Appleton East High S chool. Steven loved fishing, was an avid NASCAR and Green Bay Packer fan a nd was a fantastic artist. He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Karen Newhouse, Menasha; two si sters, Stephanie and Stacy Newhouse, Menasha; his paternal grandparents, J oan and Wesley "Bud" Newhouse Jr., Little Chute; his maternal grandmothe r, Marie Young, Appleton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Howard Young; h is great-grandmother, Myra Newhouse; and great-grandfather, Wesley Newhou se Sr. Funeral services for Steven will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 20 04, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the ti me of services. A memorial has been established. "Sometimes it feels unfair because some people waste their lives and I h ad to fight so hard for mine" The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospi tal, Dr. Diane Puccetti, Dr. Marcela Popescu and their staff at Universi ty Hospital in Madison, and a very special thank you to Dr. Kurt Heyrman f or all the care given to Steven over the years.
