According to the records of the archives of Meerlo-Wanssum, Hubertus Lambertus Bercken, farmer of profession, left his native village Swolgen together with some of his children on April 1870 for "Grimbaai Noord Am." = Green Bay, Wisconsin. His wife Anna Wilhelmina van Bracht died in Swolgen October 20 1869. This children were:
Johannes Leonard Bercken, born Swolgen February 1846, left March 17 1870 for Green Bay;
Leonard Hubert Bercken, born Swolgen June 20 1848, left April 14 1870 for Green Bay;
Maria Elisabeth Bercken, born Swolgen July 15 1850, left March 15 1870 to Green Bay;
Hendricus Hubertus Lambertus Bercken, born Swolgen October 13 1854, left March 17 1870 to Horst (a village nearby), not sure yet is if he left for the USA too;
Peter Antoon Bercken, born Swolgen September 1857, left March 17 1870 to Green Bay;
Theodorus Bercken, born Swolgen June 25 1860, left dito.
Officialy they left in March/April 1870, however according to John Smith (also born in Swolgen), correspondent in Depere of the "Venloosche Courant", a newspaper, these emigrants left Limburg by boat on December 4 1870 and arrived in Depere December 24. In his letter of January 8 1871 to that newspaper, published February 4, he also mentioned that the day after the arrival of this newcomers (must be December 25) marriages were announced between some of the travellers. One couple was Leonard Berken and Catharina Rijswijk from Wellerloy (a village on the other side of the river Meuse, a few miles east of Swolgen). Conclusion: Leonard Berken and Catharina Rijswijk travelled together indeed and married soon after their arrival in Depere, most likely in January 1871.

Florence Mary Van Dyck, 93, De Pere, went to her heavenly father Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born Oct. 9, 1914, the daughter of Ferdinand and Hattie (Baeten) Van Dyck. Florence lived in De Pere her entire life. She attended St. Mary Grade School and De Pere High School. She spent her entire life happily working at the family grocery store, Baetens. She was proud of her Dutch heritage and loved her country. Florence enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading. She also was an active walker. Florence had a very deep faith with a great devotion to the rosary. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community, De Pere, and the Christian Ladies Society.
Florence will be deeply missed by her brothers, Jerome Van Dyck with whom she lived with her entire life; and Robert Van Dyck, Grafton, Wis.; and her sister, Janet (Alfred) Pearson, Green Bay, Wis. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Raymond (Eunice) Van Dyck; and Norbert (Marian) Van Dyck; sisters: Hubertha (Richard) Schippers; Elizabeth (Leo Piumbroek) (Joseph Hendricks); and Genevieve Van Dyck; sisters-in-law, Rosie Van Dyck; and step mother, Mary Van Dyck.

Jerome (Jerry) Van Dyck, 91, De Pere, went to his heavenly Father Saturday, July 13, 2013. Jerry was born June 3, 1922, the son of Ferdinand and Hattie (Baeten) Van Dyck. He lived in De Pere his entire life, attending St. Mary Grade School and De Pere High School. Jerry spent most of his life working as a butcher at the family grocery store, Baeten's, and also at Olson's in De Pere. He loved telling stories to all of the customers of his travels all over the world. Jerry loved the Packers and also enjoyed bowling. He loved sharing his chocolates with all visitors. Jerry had a very deep faith with a great devotion to the rosary. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Community, De Pere.
Jerry will be missed by his brother: Robert Van Dyck of Grafton; and his sister, Janet (Alfred) Pearson of Green Bay. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved as his own.

Wildenberg, Mrs. Walter (Eileen S. Milton) 125 W. 10th Street KaukaunaFormerly of Combined Locks, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2002 with h er family at her side at the age of 88. Eileen was born near Kaukauna on F ebruary 12, 1914, daughter of the late Michael and Nora (Berken) Milton. S he was a 1933 graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and on September 11, 1 934 was united in marriage to Wally Wildenberg at Holy Cross Catholic Chur ch in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death in 1990. Many will remember Eile en for her skills with a fishing rod; she loved spending time at the fami ly cottage on Roberts Lake and was a member of the Roberts Lake Associatio n. For many years she served as the chief inspector on the Combined Loc ks Election Board and was also an active member of Holy Name Catholic Chur ch in Kimberly where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, a nd volunteered in a variety of other ways. Welter, Elaine A., 87, of Eau Claire died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Luther Hospital. She was born in Kaukauna, WI on April 12, 1919, the daughter of Michael and Eleanor (Berken) Milton. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and Kaukauna High School. In 1938, Elaine moved to Eau Claire where she worked at Pearson's Cafe through 1941. She later worked at Randall's Super Value from 1962 to 1983. Elaine married Robert A. Welter on March 2, 1940, at St. Patrick's in Eau Claire.
She was a charter member of St. James the Greater parish and a member of PCCW. She was also a member of Eau Claire Women of the Moose Chapter #557 for many years. Elaine was an avid Packer fan, loved bingo, and scratch offs. She was very patriotic, proud of her Irish heritage, and most of all her family.

Emmett A. Berken, 91, Little Chute, was born to eternal life on Friday, November 15, 2013, surrounded by his wife and family in the home he built 60 years ago. Emmett was born October 14, 1922, in Wrightstown, son of Hubert "Al" and Virginia (Milton) Berken. On September 16, 1950, Emmett and Rita Emons were united in marriage at Holy Angels Church. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
An Army veteran of WWII, he served in the Philippines on the Islands of Guadalcanal, Liyte and Cebu. He was proud to have been on the Inaugural Flight of the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight accompanied by his daughters and grandson. Emmett was employed by Oudenhoven Construction Company until the 1950's when he became a partner in Little Chute Bottling Company, with his brother, Jerry and brother-in-law, Ed Spierings. After retiring from the Bottling Company, he worked part-time at Larry's Piggly Wiggly.
Emmett was a member of the Wrightstown Urban Klister Post #436 for 66 years. He was a Past Commander and was instrumental in the building of the clubhouse. He was a retired volunteer of the Little Chute Fire Department and a faithful volunteer at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse, New Holstein for 25 years. Emmett was an active member of St. John Parish, where he served as an usher for over 50 years.
Vacations, bowling and playing sheepshead with family and friends were activities he enjoyed and looked forward to.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; daughters: Barbara (Lee) Van Rooy, Kathleen (Dan) McNelly, and Mary (Nick) Demerath; son, Robert (Kathryn) Berken; grandchildren: Amy (Dave) Szymanski, Dr. David (Ani) Van Rooy, Dr. Bethany (Chris) Campbell, Emily (Ben) Lang, Stephen and Marissa McNelly; Dominic, James, Jordan and Kevin Demerath; Rob, Heather, Katelyn and Daniel Berken; great grandchildren: Griffin, Owen and Grayson Lang, Ana and Ella Van Rooy and Ashlyn and Grant Szymanski; a sister: Bernice (Gerald) Bruecker; a brother: Dale (Mary) Berken; sisters-in-law: Verna and Lorraine Berken and Olive Emons and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Gordon, Lloyd and Gerald; sisters: Marjorie Spierings and Evelyn Kuepper; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Ed and Dorothy Spierings, Jerome Kuepper, Blanche Berken and Harold Emons.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S Pine Street, Little Chute with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in Emmett's memory.
The family would like to thank Dr. Graunke and the entire staff at Kaukauna Clinic for their understanding, care and kindness extended to their family. We would also like to thank Fr. Ron Belitz for his support during this time.
As a husband, dad, grampa and grampa great, he has shown us how to live life and created many wonderful memories which will forever remain in our hearts.

H. Dale Berken, 87, of Menasha, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2017.
Dale was born on a farm in Wrightstown, Wisconsin and was the youngest of eight children born to Hubert "Al" and Virginia (Milton) Berken. Dale graduated from Wrightstown High School and entered the Army in 1951 serving during the Korean War.
He married Mary K. (Dietzen) Berken on August 19, 1954 and they have joyfully celebrated all 62 years of their precious marriage.
After his discharge from service Dale, held a number of jobs before opening his own business. He was well known for providing coffee and conversation to anyone who stopped in to Berken's Sport Shop in downtown Neenah which operated from 1965 to 1982.
Dale's commitment to his Catholic faith was well-known as he was an active member of St Mary's Parish in Menasha for more than 62 years. He served as an usher and assisted with many projects and events over the years.
He was a well-known member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1838 where he served for many years including multiple terms as Grand Knight and chaired the monthly Fish Fry for decades. He was a 4th Degree member of the organization. Dale was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion Wrightstown Urban Klister Post #436 where he joined his brother's in service to the organization prior to his military discharge.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine (Dietzen) Berken, his children Dennis (Liz) Berken, Debra (Jeff) Zarling, Ellen (Duane) Brown, Cynthia (Henry) Wetzel and Joseph (Robin) Berken; Grandchildren Rebecca Zarling, Daniel Berken and fiancée Jamie Young, Shauna Brown and friend Tom Noonen, Alex (Dana) Zarling, Nicole (Andrew) Radler, Aaron Wetzel and fiancée Breanna Priest, and Jacob Berken and his great grandchildren Maddie, Alex, Theodore and Francis. He is further survived by his sister Bernice (Jerry) Bruecker and his sisters-in-law Theresa Glasnapp, Lorraine Schreurs, Delia (Mike) Syring, Dorothy Dietzen, Lorraine Berken, Verna Berken and Rita Berken in addition to many nieces, nephews and long-standing close family friends.

An inspiration to his family and friends, Dale was known for his quiet countenance and his commitment to family, faith and community. He truly cherished every moment of his life and was grateful for everyday he shared with others. His legacy is carried forward in the strong work ethic and commitment he instilled in his children and grandchildren. His last years were filled with the joy of love and laughter with the birth of two great grandchildren who enjoyed crawling up on his lap and snuggling.

She was born on October 25, 1922 in Wrightstown to the late Peter and Harriett (VanVreede) Berken. Lyola married Clyde Smith on January 17, 1942 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. They moved to Appleton, where they raised their family and she was a member of St. Paul Parish, Combined Locks. Lyola will be remembered for her many gifts and talents, including beautiful needlework and crafts. She had the ability to do any task needed to keep her household running.
She is survived by her seven children; Carol (Wayne) Reinhardt, Janice (Special friend Mike Friis) Schink, Mark (Terry) Smith, Kay (Robert) Mitchell, Barbara (William) Thiel, Judy (Bruce) Kallin and Debra (Bruce) Cherney, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Maravel A. "Monnie" Verhagen, Kaukauna, age 89, went to meet her heavenly father and family on Thursday January 2, 2014 at her home in St. Paul Villa with her family at her side. She was born July 19, 1924 in Wrightstown to the late Peter and Harriet (Van Vreede) Berken. On August 24, 1944, Monnie married Richard P. Verhagen at St. Paul's Church in Wrightstown. He survives her after 69 years of marriage.
Monnie was the loving mother of twelve children, nine sons and daughters-in-law: Ron (deceased) and Tami, Kaukauna; Ken and Pam, Hortonville; Pete and Marie, Kaukauna; Roy and friend Kelly, Florida; Dennis and Verla, Kimberly; Paul and Mary Jo, Appleton; Pat and fiancée Shelly Retzlaff, Kaukauna; Fran and Barb, Kaukauna; Tony and Sherrie, Hortonville; and; three daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and Bob Merbach, Kaukauna; Terri and Tom Biese, Menasha; and Rose and Gary Heindel, Kaukauna. The love of Monnie's life was her husband Rich, her twelve children and her faith in God. She had been a Eucharistic Minister since 1972 and despite a busy home life, found time to take care of the communion robes and votive candles at church. She also volunteered at funeral meals and for the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society for many years.
During her retirement years, Monnie loved to go to their trailer at Washington Resort on Shawano Lake where she and Rich had many good friends, but most of all she enjoyed the slots at the casino.
Visitation will be held Tuesday January 7, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Berken, 77, Oneida loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Great Grandfather passed away at home on Friday March 20, 2009. The son of the late Earl and Serena (Vannieuwenhoven) Berken was born on April 29, 1931.On May 17, 1952 he married Alyce Vandehei at St. Joseph Church in Oneida. He farmed in the area for 30 years, retiring in 1978 for health reasons. He moved to Lake Tomahawk and became a fishing guide in the summer and plowed snow in the winter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and playing cards. He was proud of all his children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Survivors include his wife Alyce of 56 years. Seven sons; John (special friend Laurie), Larry (special friend Cindy), Terry (Lynn), Joe (Karla), Kelly (Bev), Kevin (Bobbie), and Bob (Tammy). Two daughters; Mary (Gene Weber), and Jennifer (John Bromberek). Twenty Grandchildren, and eight Great Grandchildren. His sister Bev Pichette and his Brother Ron Berken. Gerald "Jerry" Vercauteren, 79, Ashwaubenon, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday morning, Dec. 5, 2009. The son of the late Elmer and Rose (Smits) Vercauteren was born Jan. 25, 1930, in De Pere. On June 6, 1953, he married the former Carol Schadrie at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2002. Gerald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Jerry worked as a truck driver most of his life, driving for Green Bay Chicago Lines, Clairmont Transfer and Gross Trucking. He was an active member of the Ashwaubenon Retired Firefighters, where he loved spending time with his friends, especially playing cards and cooking for the guys. He was also a member of the Moose Club in Ashwaubenon.
He loved going up north to his cottage and playing cards with his friends and family. Jerry loved golfing, fishing and watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. His most treasured time was with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and caring Dad and Grandpa, and a treasured friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include one son, Terry (Liz) Vercauteren; one daughter, Vickie (Scott) Retrum; five grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Havlovitz, Jessica (Mark) Schmoll, Erica Vercauteren, Alisha Retrum, Nate Retrum; two great-grandchildren, Laney and Cali Havlovitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; one sister and three brothers.

Omer L. Smits, 86, of Town of Rockland, passed away in De Pere on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He was born January 5, 1927 in De Pere, a son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Hendricks) Smits. On December 29, 1992 in Escanaba, MI he married the former Patricia Diener.
Omer was a member of the De Pere Men's Club, St. Mary Catholic Community Church, St. Mary Home School Association, and a 4-H Chairman of Leaders. He also was on the Brown County Drainage Board for 32 years, the Town Chairman of Rockland, and a school bus driver in East De Pere for over 30 years. Omer enjoyed his time with gardening, working at flea markets and hickory trees and their nuts.
Omer is survived by his wife Patricia Smits; 11 children: Diane Fonder, Gary Smits, Dave (Mary) Smits, Dan (Jan) Smits, Sue (Jae) Houtman, Steven (Lynn) Smits, Barb (Tracy) Meyer, Mike (Patti) Smits, Kevin (Michelle) Smits, Rick (Elaine) Smits, and Lisa (Tom) Wojcichowski; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; step sons Bill (Patti) Ruggles and Mike (Liz) Ruggles, and siblings: Richard Smits, Delores Novacheck, and LuAnn (Gene) Vandenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Eunice Smits, son Don Smits, grandson Chad Smits, and his sisters: Bernice, Mildred, and Betty.

Gerald F. Hendricks, 76, De Pere, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, with his loving family at his side after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born on Aug. 28, 1931, in De Pere, to the late Fred and Eleanor (Denis) Hendricks. Jerry is a graduate of East De Pere High School, after graduation he enter the U.S. Air Force for 5 1/2 years of duty. On Dec. 26, 1953, he married Joyce Smits at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere. While raising their young family, Jerry attended and graduated from St. Norbert College. He then taught at West De Pere High School for three years prior to his career in telecommunications. He began work with Wisconsin Telephone in De Pere and later moved to Cedarburg. He then entered Executive Management with AT & T. Jerry made many moves with his family during his career but the majority of time was spent in the Cedarburg area. Retiring in 1986 from AT & T, he and Joyce moved to Sun City Center in Florida. There he enjoyed golfing and traveling. To be closer to his family, Jerry and Joyce moved back to De Pere in 1995. Jerry loved to read, golf, bowl, and follow the Packers. He also enjoyed working on his computer. He was a past president of the Cedarburg Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; children, Beth (Dick) Hammetter, Slinger; Mary (Craig) Taylor, Appleton; Fred Hendricks, Atlanta, Ga.; Tom (Lori) Hendricks, Doylestown, Penn.; son-in-law, Jerry Hadler, Sleepy Hallow, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanne Hendricks; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jeanne K. Baeten (Kolb) died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1930, to the late Ted and Dorothy (Pies) Baeten at St. Vincent Hospital. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from De Pere High School in 1948. From 1948 to 1950 Jeanne was employed at Wadhams Oil Company as a stenographer, and was then a stay-at-home mom from 1950 to 1968. From 1970 to 1978 she worked at the Wisconsin State Reformatory in the stenographic pool. Following two riots at the reformatory, she decided it was too dangerous, and began a career with Brown County. She held posts at the Brown County Veterans Service Office, Register of Deeds, and Treasurers office before retiring in 1993.

William "Bill" P Baeten, 76, of Green Bay passed away after a 25 year battle with Leukemia. He suffered from several other illnesses during the last year of his life.
Bill was born March 24th, 1936 to the late Sylvester "Ted" and Dorothy (Pies) Baeten of De Pere. He graduated from East De Pere High School in 1954. Bill served in the US Air Force, Strategic Air Command, from 1954-58. In 1961 he graduated from Badger Business College with a degree in Accounting.
Bill married Gretchen Wirch August 26th, 1961 at St Mary's Church in De Pere.
Bill was the accountant for Herlache Industrial Supply Co. of Green Bay for 32 years and Herlache Supply of Milwaukee just prior to retiring due to ill health. Bill considered Kermit Herlache his mentor.
Bill loved to reminisce about growing up in De Pere during the 40's and 50's. He enjoyed attending meetings of the De Pere Historical Society, of which he was a member. He enjoyed attending Packer games as a boy and an adult, only missing games during his time in the Service and later in life due to illness. There was rarely a televised sporting event he missed. He looked forward to any and all events over the years that involved his daughters and grandchildren. He was also involved in his local community, most recently working at the voting polls. There never was a dull moment in the Baeten household.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grethchen, his daughters and their families of which he was so proud; Jenny (Gary) Coppens of West De Pere and Katie (Trent) McCorkell of Dennison, Minnesota. Also, his grandchildren whom he loved so much; Abby and Maddy Coppens, and Brennah and Keegan McCorkell; sister and brothers in-law, Barb Peters, Jim Wirch and Chong Cha, John Wirch and Karen. He is further survived by many Nieces and Nephews and their families, Patti (Tony)Giovanetti, John (Karen) Peters, Maggie Peters, Andrew Wirch, Jimmy Wirch, and the Kolb boys (David, Keith, Marc and Craig).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in-law, Norman and Beatrice Wirch, sister, Jeanne Baeten, and brother in-law, Bud Peters.
A private celebration of Bill's life will be held this summer on a warm, sunny day with family and friends sitting poolside, enjoying lots of laughter, a bowl of Erv and Katie Prosser's booyah, and, thanks to Rog Murphy, De Pere's very own Graham Cracker cake. "Everything is out, help yourself, I'm having too good of a time". A perfect day for Bill. RYAN FUNERAL HOME assisted the family.

Dorothy Van De Ven, 88, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. The daughter of the late Theodore and Ann Keyser was born on September 20, 1925. On June 28, 1947 she married Donald Van De Ven at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrightstown. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2012. Dorothy belonged to the Silver Cliff Chapel Choir, the Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 66 Auxiliary. She also had been a waitress at the Union Hotel for 15 years. Dorothy loved to cook, sew, quilt, crochet, snorkel, and play cards with friends and family, especially cribbage with her husband. She was an adventurous woman, who took up downhill skiing at the age of 60. Dorothy unconditionally loved her family with all of her heart. She and Don were role models for their very caring and supportive family. Gramma Dot was a loving grandma to all her grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Deacon Clay U. Wildenberg, age 74, of Gresham, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 6, 1938 in Combined Locks, he was the son of the late Walter T. and Eileen S. (Milton) Wildenberg. After graduating from St. John's High School in Little Chute, Clay furthered his education at the University of WI-Stevens Point and at the Brown Institute of Broadcasting. He also served in the United States Army Reserve. After college, Clay worked for The Appleton Post Crescent and WFRV-TV5. On June 6, 1964 he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Siebers at the Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. In 1986, Clay attended the Cardinal Stritch College receiving his Diaconal Ministry Program Certificate and was ordained on September 13, 1986 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay. His diaconal assignments have included St. Thomas More in Appleton, St. Ann's in St. Anna, St. Mary's in Marion, St. Mary's in Leopolis, Holy Family St. William in Wittenberg and St. Anthony's in Tigerton. Clay was active as a Tribunal Field Advocate, with the Clinical Pastoral Education Practicum at St. Vincent's in Green Bay and on the Deacon Formation Board. Clay loved serving the Lord's people as well as camping, playing cribbage, watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and anything Irish.
Clay is survived by: his wife, Carol; his 3 sons, Alan G. (Shari Johnson) Wildenberg, Craig A. (Amy) Wildenberg, Todd J. (Laura) Wildenberg; 7 grandchildren, Cale, Troy, Case, Cash, Cadence, Ashley, Derek; a sister, Donna (Bob) Lopas of Gresham; and 2 brothers, Jay Wildenberg of Wabeno and Jim (Maggie) Wildenberg of Black Creek.

Verhagen, Ronald J.Ronald J. Verhagen (Julio) of Sherwood, age 59 passed away on Dec. 25, 200 4, at his home. Ron was born June 13, 1945, in Askeaton, Wis., son of Rich ard and Monnie (Berken) Verhagen. Ron drove semi for Thilmany Internation al Paper, retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Stock bridge Harbor Fishing Club. Ron lived in the Kaukauna and Sherwood area mo st of his life. He enjoyed working at his ranch whether he was fixing a tr actor, working with a horse or green chopping for the cattle. He enjoyed h unting and fishing but his favorite past-time was being in parades with h is buggy horse, “Lindy” or riding the trails with his wife Tami. He wi ll be sadly missed by all his animals, especially his 3 dogs; Abby, Booz le and Black Jack. He will be missed by all. Ron will be remembered for h is kind words, his friendship and his love for animals.Ron is survived by his wife, Tami; his parents Richard and Monnie; 8 broth ers, Ken (Pam), Paul (Mary Jo), Pat (Laurie), Dennis (Verla), Fran (Barb ), Tony (Sherrie), Peter (Marie) and Roy; 3 sisters, Betty (Bob) Merbac h, Terrie (Tom) Biese and Rose (Gary) Heindel; his childen, Todd (Vickie ), Tammie (Mark) Luft; stepdaughters, Nikki Burns and Heidi Birling; grand children, McKayla, Travis, Taylor and Lynsie; stepgrandchildren, Jordan “G ordy,” Alyssa “Weeds” and Stephanie. He is further survived by many aunt s, uncles, nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday at Boettcher Family Funer al Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Fr. David Schmidt officiatin g. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the ti me of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being establish ed in his name.Ron’s wife and family would like to thank all who have helped Ron these pa st months; especially his brothers and good friend, John Diederich. Also s incere thanks to Dr. Swanson and Ron’s special care-giver nurse “Paul.”
