    Arline (Bosser) Geenen Strohm, age 96, passed away at St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community in Ohio on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Arline was born January 19, 1920, daughter of the late Robert and Clara Bosser. She was a graduate of Appleton High School, and also attended vocational school. Arline was employed by Badger Northland in Kaukauna for twenty five years. For over fifty years, Arline was married to John W. Geenen, who preceded her in death in 2000. Later, she married James Strohm, who also preceded her in death. Arline will be remembered as a talented seamstress, marvelous cook, and all-around homemaker.
    She is survived by her children: Judith (Jack) Lamers, James (Janine) Geenen, Katherine (Dale) Mitchell, John Geenen, Victoria (Joe) Van Hout, Lynn (Shannon) Oskorg, and Deborah (Steve) Stumpf. Her grandchildren are: Christine (Nick) Limb, Kelly (Rick) Turner, Brian (Cheryl) Lamers, Michael (Diane) Lamers, Colleen (Mark) Gross, Katie (Kirk) Nemi, Patrick (Jenn) Geenen, Jessica (Dave) McColgin, Jason (Kara) Florek, Corey Florek, Ryan Florek, Josh (Amber) Mitchell, Tony Mitchell, Chelsea (Jim) Ganino, Brooks Geenen, Melissa Van Hout, Lucas (Jodi) Van Hout, Brooklyn (Scott) Mashaw, Brett (Ali) Stumpf, Madelyn Stumpf, Ben (Annie) Lu Maye, and Nicole Lu Maye (Jeremy Black); there are also thirty-nine great grandchildren.     A memorial funeral liturgy for Arline will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Fr. Robert Kollath officiating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service. The family has asked that memorial contributions be directed to the ALS Association.

    Appleton - Kathy Mitchell, age 70, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday morning, June 28, 2018. She fought a courageous battle with ALS, during which she demonstrated her faith, dignity, and grace. Kathy was born in Appleton on February 22, 1948, daughter of the late John and Arline (Bosser) Geenen. Kathy was a longtime Kimberly resident, and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1965. On February 18, 1987, she married Dale Mitchell at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Kimberly and the couple relocated to Colorado Springs until 1998, when they returned to Appleton.
    The most important things in life were her faith, family and friends. Kathy's heart's desire was first and foremost to serve others. Her interior design work was a ministry to others by creating a warm and inviting environment for her clients. She would use meaningful items already present in the home to personalize their space. Many of her clients became close friends.
    She had a wonderful gift of hospitality that was effortless to her. Everyone was always welcome in her home. They always left feeling blessed by her gift of love.
    She is survived by her husband: Dale Mitchell of Appleton. Her children are: Jason (Kara) Florek of Tampa, Florida, Corey Florek of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ryan Florek of Appleton, Joshua (Amber) Mitchell of Colorado Springs, and Anthony Mitchell of Denver. Kathy also has four beloved grandchildren, Kaitlynn White, Katrina Eiler, Trevor Florek, and Cameryn Mitchell.
    Kathy is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Judith Lamers of Cleveland, Ohio, James (Janine) Geenen of Ashville, North Carolina, John Geenen of Minneapolis, Victoria (Joseph) Van Hout of Kaukauna, Lynn (Shannon) Orskog of New Castle, Colorado, Deborah (Steven) Stumpf of Menasha, John (Cindy) Strohm of Madison, Wisconsin, and James (Dawn) Strohm of Appleton, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Arline, her first husband Edwin Florek, and a brother-in-law Jack Lamers.
    A service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Boulevard, with Pastor Dennis Episcopo officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
    Our hearts are grateful for the amazing hospice team, family, and friends who supported her journey. They were our angels on earth. She will be missed terribly by everyone who knew her, but we will all be together again someday. We love you.

    Sheila Fens Vandehey, born and raised in Combined Locks but resided in Kaukauna. Sheila was raised by two loving parents, Diane (Siebers) Fens and Roger Fens. Sheila went to her eternal reward surrounded by family and loved ones on August 21, 2009, after a 4-year-long battle with cancer. Sheila graduated from Kimberly High School and continued her education at FVTC graduating with a special education degree. She worked with special needs students in the Menasha school system. Sheila worked at St. Katherine Drexel Parish with Religious Education, and was also employed as a secretary with the American Cancer Society. She had a great love for baking and making cakes for friends and family, calligraphy and fireworks. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her parent's cottage near Mountain, Wisconsin. She devoted her life to helping others and found great joy in the reward it brought to her life and her family's.
    Sheila married Mark E. Vandehey on August 22, 1980, and was given her two greatest gifts from God, her children, a son Ryan and a daughter Kathryn.
    She is survived by her husband Mark, children Ryan and Katie, her parents, Roger and Diane Fens. Sheila is further survived by her sister Lisa (Pat) Brodsky and their family, her brother, Keith (Leslie) Fens and their family, and mother-in-law, Marion Vandehey. Also survived by her three sisters-in-law: Judith (Elmer) Van Dyke and their family, Mary (David) Verboomen and their family, and Debra (Kevin) Van Dyn Hoven and family, brother-in-law, John A. Vandehey and his family, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by father-in-law, Glen L. Vandehey, sister-in-law, Valerie Vandehey and cousins. She is further preceded in death by her three aunts, Magdalene Van De Hey, Barbara Siebers and Carol Welch, also uncles, Thomas, James and Glenn Siebers, Reuben Van De Hey, Sylvester Van Driel, Sherman Rogers, and Clarence Smith as well as several cousins.
    Sheila and family would like to thank Dr. William C. Guenther and all the staff at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center for they are the true angels in life. Sheila and family would also like to thank Dr. Sumon Bhattacharjee, Dr. John Swanson and the staff from Theda Care Hospice and Cherry Meadows Hospice Residence for their compassionate care.
