    Baehman, Donald G. "Pa"
    Donald G. "Pa" Baehman, 85, Oshkosh, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Bethel Home. He was born in Oshkosh, on Sept. 6, 1923, to Arthur and Rona Baehman. He married Sarah (Sally) Baehman on April 19, 1947, in Neenah. They were married for 62 years. Together they made a home in Oshkosh, where they raised their family.
    His faith was a very big part of his life. He attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ, where he was very involved in many different activities. He worked at James River Corp. in Menasha for 34 years, until his retirement in 1986. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until his honorary discharge in 1946.
    He was also a member of the VFW, Eagles Club and Nestors Club, also volunteered for the EAA air show for over 20 years. He was a very avid fisherman and enjoyed watching his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in all of their sporting activities. He also enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and NASCAR racing.
    "Pa" is survived by his wife, Sally; his five children, Tim (Char) Baehman, Mike "Bi" (Bonnie) Baehman, Pete (Cindy) Baehman, Kathy (Rick) Hoppe, all of Oshkosh; and Kris (Carl) Van Damme, Omro; his 18 grandchildren, Jay (Sue), Michael (Elan), Sarah (fiancee, Adam), Ben (Nena), Brian, Amy, Becky, Carey, Wendy, Jessi, Ryne, Brett, Kevin, Kailyn, Jordan, Heidi, Kyle and Courtney; and 12 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zack, Brad, Tyler, McKenna, Peyton, Dominic, Bree, Summer, Lanie, Paige, Austin. He is further survived by a special cousin, Kay (Paul) Wickert; many other relatives and friends; and his special fishing buddy, Ronnie Krueger.
    He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lawrence; one sister, Lorraine; and one grandchild, Cody Van Damme.
    Funeral services will held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with the Rev. Linda Kuhn officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Ellenwood Cemetery.
    A special thank you to Mercy Medical Center staff, Bethel Home and the girls of 1 west, Hospice, Pastor Linda and Father Doug for their caring compassion and prayers for Don and his family.
    A memorial has been established.
