    Edward J. Demerath, 74, Green Bay, died Wednesday afternoon, June 6, 2001, at a local nursing home. Born in Freedom on July 1, 1926, he is the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Thyessen) Demerath . He married the former Ruth Bilquist on Sept. 17, 1949, at St. Philip the Apostle Parish and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1996. Ed worked most of his life at Northern Paper Mill. He enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, fishing, making booyah, traveling, and times spent with his family.
    He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Tom and Barbara Demerath , Terrie Demerath , Ray Demerath all of Green Bay Michael and Lynne Demerath , Oconto Steven and Florence Demerath , Gene Demerath , Bernie (B.G.) and Karen Demerath , all of Green Bay 13 grandchildren, Heidi and fiance' Cory, Aimee, Jason, Anthony, Michelle, Benjamin, Melissa, Andrea, Crystal, Robert, Leeann, Branden and Monika Demerath one brother, Norbert and Lisa Demerath , Suring sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine Demerath , California Eleanor (Elly) Demerath , Wrightstown Marion Demerath , Green Bay Vernie Johnvin, Green Bay Arlene (William) Herlache, Walter (Bill) Bilquist, Marie Blahnik nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth four brothers, Richard, George, John and Clarence Demerath two sisters, Joann Bowers and Marie Bowers.
    Friends may call at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parish Wake Service 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Monday visitation will continue at St. Bernard Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, from 8:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral. Funeral Monday 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Church with Rev. David Pleier officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

    Obituary:
    Gene Demerath, 54, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 20, 2010. Born on Dec. 6, 1955, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Edward and Ruth Demerath. Gene was a fun and loving person who was always full of life and silliness. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
    Gene is survived by four children, Leeann Perez, Green Bay; Robert Demerath, Marinette; Branden Demerath, and Monika Cuellar-Trejo and her husband, both of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Tom (Barbara), Ray, Michael (Lynne), Steven (Florence), and Bernard (Karen) Demerath; one sister, Theresa "Terrie" Demerath; special aunt, Marie Blahnik; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and his special uncle, Walter Bilquest.
    Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., Saturday from 12 (noon) to 6 p.m. Funeral service 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Ken De Groot, O. Praem., officiating. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from the conclusion of the service until 6 p.m.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Green Bay Police Department, especially Detective Scott Peters. They would also like to thank the 4th Floor ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Dr. Wesley Griffitt.
    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
