    Lorraine H. Smits, 90, De Pere, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 7, 2008.
    She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in De Pere, to the late Louis and Mathilda (Vanden Branden) Albers.
    On May 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond Smits at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere.
    Lorraine was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family in De Pere. She was an avid bowler, having bowled over 50 years in league. Lorraine also enjoyed crocheting, baking cookies and pies, traveling, and especially renting cottages with her family.
    She is survived by her children, Donna (Lee) Gage, North Kansas City, Mo.; Bill (Nancy) Smits, Green Bay; Jack (Susan) Smits, Grover Beach, Calif.; and Ted (Mugs) Smits, Appleton; nine grandchildren, Raymond and William Gage, North Kansas City, Mo.; Aaron (Erica) Smits, Singapore; Ben (Stacy) Smits, Green Bay; Josh (Brenda) Smits, Green Bay; Alicia Smits, Wauwatosa, Naomi (John) Hink, Brookfield; Joe (Jenny) Smits, De Pere; and Mike Smits, Appleton. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Andrew, Grant, and Emma; her sister, Lucille Tahlier; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Thomson, Della (Gene) Spreeman, Verna Mae Parins, Lloyd (Jean) Smits, Mae Willems, and Dottie Albers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her brothers, Lawrence (Ellen) Albers, Clarence Albers, Carl Albers, Don Albers; her sisters-and brothers-in-law; Harold Tahlier, Roman (Gen) Smits, Norma (John) Minten, Joe Thomson, Mel Thomson, Connie Berken, and Sonny Parins.

    Carl J. Albers, Fountain Hills, Ariz., formerly of De Pere, Wis. A loving husband and father died Oct. 26, 2007. He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in West De Pere, Wis. Carl was the son of the late Louis H. and Mathilda (Vanden Branden) Albers. He graduated from West De Pere High School and attended Western Maryland College. He was the Chief Engineer at U.S. Paper Mills Corp., De Pere, Wis., for 39 years. He served in World War II from 1941 to 1945. He married Dorothy A. Lemmen on Sept. 9, 1950, at St. Mary's Church, De Pere, Wis. Carl was a member of the American Legion Post 58. Carl loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards for many years.
    Survivors include his loving wife, Dottie; two children and their spouses, Robert and Barbar Albers, De Pere, Wis.; Chad and Colleen Albers, De Pere, Wis.; one son-in-law, Donald Leslie, Urbandale, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Neil and Ryan Albers, Stroh and Dalton Leslie, Carly, Caitlin and Callie Albers; two sisters, Lorraine Smits, De Pere and Lucille Tahlier, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Mae Willems, De Pere and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy and two infant children, Linda and Louis; three brothers, Lawrence, Clarence and Donald; one sister-in-law, Ellen Albers; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Smits and Harold Tahlier.

    Francis "Frank" A. Baeten, 88, De Pere, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011. He was born Sept. 29, 1922, to the late John and Josephine Baeten. Frank married the former Dorothy Linzmeier. He retired from the Milwaukee Road Railroad. Frank liked to read and do his crossword puzzles. He was the "King" of the one liner. Frank was very proud of his military record, having served in the United States Army during World War II. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle at the Bridge at Remagen to name a few.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Jerry (Lisa) Baeten, Tom (Kelly) Baeten; his son-in-law, Phillip Kreisa; six grandchildren, David, Adam, Lindsay, Alex, Elizabeth, and Brian, as well as his two great- grandchildren, Brianna and Macy. Frank's siblings also survive; Clyde (Sonia) Baeten, and Merle (Joan) Baeten.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kreisa; his son, Robert Baeten; his brother, Richard (Lisa) Baeten; and sister-in-law, Pat Baeten.

    Merle J. Baeten, 78, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Bellin Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1935 to the late John and Josephine (Vanden Branden) Baeten.
    Merle grew up in De Pere and graduated from West De Pere High School. Following his honorable discharge from active duty in the U.S. Army, Merle began his employment at Wisconsin Public Service where he worked as a lineman and eventually became a foreman in the Green Bay Substation and Transmission Operations Department. Merle coached youth baseball in De Pere and attended all of his children's athletic events through their school years. He also liked hunting deer and pheasants for many years. Merle enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and going up north in the summers with Joan. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan, and enjoyed the occasional casino trip. Merle also looked forward to his Thursday golf outings and breakfast with his buddies.
    Survivors include wife Joan (Olejniczak) Baeten; his children: Lisa Baeten (Tom Merkel); Cindy (Bruce) Kueper and children Tricia Barrette and Nicki Van Enkevort; Joe Baeten; Amy (Tom) Baeten and children Alec and Austin; Joan's children: Michael (Estela) Olejniczak; Julie (Bill) Switzer and children Michael and Sam; Mary Jo (Ray) Janssen and children Aaron, Neil, and Stuart; David (Debbie) Olejniczak and their son Jesse; and Susan (Jim) Jandrin and children Scott and John.
    Merle is also survived by his brother Clyde (Sonia) Baeten; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Baeten, Steve (Helen) Allcox, Jim (Stel) Allcox, Judy (Harold) Nackers, and Barbara (MaryAnn) Allcox; great grandson Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Gage, Donna (Smits) Donna R. Gage, 74, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 22, 2015. She was born May 2, 1941, in Green Bay to the late Raymond and Lorraine (Albers) Smits.
    She married Lee Gage Aug. 10, 1961, in Kansas City.
    She is survived by her husband: Lee; two sons: Raymond and William; three brothers: William (Nancy), Jack (Susan) and Ted (Mugs); nieces and nephews; aunts and one uncle.
    Services will be held in Kansas City
