    Obituary:
    Joseph Schroven, 74, passed away Saturday at 11:30 p.m. at his home in Stockbridge. He had been ill about a year. He was born January 25, 1883 in Stockbridge where he spent his entire life. He married Anna Hemauer, Nov. 13, 1906. The lived for a number of years on a farm on the Old Road, now occupied by his son John.
    For the past 25 years he was in the tavern business, for several years in the village, and for the past few years near Lake Winnebago at Quinney. Survivors are his wife, two sons, John and Norbert, both of Stockbridge; three grandchildren, Mrs. Thos Kennedy, Madison: Carol and Kay Schroven, Stockbridge; two sisters Mrs. William Hemauer and Mrs. Anna Schoen, both of Stockbridge.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stockbridge. The Rev. Wm. Willinger officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

    John W. Schroven, 64, of R. 3 Chilton, died Thursday afternoon at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, following a lengthy illness. Born March 13, 1907 in Stockbridge, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schroven. He married the former Sylvia Goeser. Mr. Schroven operated a teenage bar in Quinney for 13 years until four years ago when he retired.
    Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Pattie) Kennedy of Webster, N.Y., and Mrs. Donald (Carol) Stadler of Lakewood; six grandchildren and a brother, Norbert of Stockbridge.
    Funeral services will be at St. Mary Catholic Church Stockbridge, the Rev. William Willinger, pastor, celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial in parish cemetery.

    Marie T. Miller, age 93, of Chilton, died on September 14, 2009, at Country Side Manor in Sheboygan. She was born June 12, 1916, in Stockbridge, daughter of the late William & Christina (Schroven) Hemauer. She married Henry Woelfel on June 8, 1939; he preceded her in death on April 16, 1986. She married Clayton Miller on May 6, 1989; he preceded her in death on January 11, 1994. While Marie and Henry operated a farm in the Town of Chilton, she also worked for the Chilton Co-Op for about 10 years. She then worked for Horst Distributing until her retirement in 2001 at the age of 85.
    She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, formerly St. Mary Parish, where she also belonged to the Christian Mothers. In her retirement, Marie enjoyed playing cards, gardening, traveling, sight seeing and spending time with her friends.
    Survivors include her children: Sister Arlene Woelfel, SSSF, Milwaukee; Carol (Andrew) Lagatta, Clintonville; Jan (Bob) Miller, Sherwood; Herb (Joan) Woelfel, New Holstein; eight step-children: John (Sidonia) Miller, Texas; Jim (Betty) Miller, Chilton; Tom Miller, Appleton; Bob (Jan) Miller, Sherwood; Sue Miller, Eau Claire; Kathy Thomson and special friend Gene Hirst, Missouri; Patricia Miller, Chilton; and Steve Miller and special friend Suzanne Pontow, Chilton. Marie is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Henry and Clayton; and two brothers: Fr. William Hemauer and Gilbert Hemauer.
    Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009, and on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A parish vigil service will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Fr. Gilbert Hemauer, special nephew and Godchild of Marie, will be assisting in the prayer service and funeral mass.
    The family would like to thank the staff at Country Side Manor for the special care they have shown to Mom. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation are appreciated in the name of Marie T. Miller.

    Norman J. "Butch" Nennig, age 79 of Chilton, died on Thur. Jan. 13, 2011, at his home in Chilton. He was born on Oct. 10, 1931 in Chilton, son of the late Louis & Mary (Schroven) Nennig. He married Lorelie J. Stemper on Oct 27, 1954 in St. Anne. Butch farmed in the Tn. of Chilton, raised Fox for pelts, worked for the Chilton Canning Co., Northland Turkey Farm, served on the Tactical Squad for Calumet County, and worked for GHD in Chilton until his retirement in 1998. Following his retirement he remained active in the Chilton community. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Legion of Mary. Butch was also a former member of NFO, and the Chilton AC's. In his younger days, Butch also played basketball for Charlesburg.
    Survivors include his wife, Lorelie; his children: Barbara Mayer of New Holstein, Judy Nennig of Chilton, Nancy (Terrence) Gerhartz of Chilton, James (Char) Nennig of Chilton, Dale Nennig of Howards Grove, Debra (Joseph) Tollefson of Kiel, Dave (Donna) Nennig of Wrightstown, Tina (Troy) Neuber of Sherwood; 18 grandchildren: Kristy (Steve) Hemp, Mike Mayer and Fiancee Brittany Rumphol, Cody and Casey Gerhartz, Mark Kander, Shannon (Kyle) Schmidt, Brittany Brown, Colby and Davis Nennig, Tony, Angie & Jenny Tollefson, DJ, Craig, Amanda & Danielle Nennig, Sam and Abby Neuber; three great-grandchildren: Savanah, Gauge, Cameron; and special friends JoAnn Turney and Dave Krause.
    Butch was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Alice "Pat" Nennig.
    Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2011 and on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Norman "Butch" Nennig.

    Gilbert Hemauer, Capuchin Franciscan friar and priest, died on August 8, 2016 at the age of 78.
    Gil was born May 14, 1938 in Stockbridge, Wisconsin, son of the late Gilbert & Veronica (Leitner) Hemauer. He was invested in the Capuchin habit in 1956, perpetually professed in 1960, and ordained in 1964.
    Gil was involved in a variety of ministries during his religious life, including vocation recruitment for St. Lawrence Seminary, pastoral ministry in St. Paul MI, Appleton WI, and in Montana. From 1977-1986, he was assigned to Native American Ministry in Montana. From 1986-1989, he was director of the Tekawitha Conference. Gil retired to Appleton, Wisconsin in 2008, due to failing health.
    Gil is survived by his four sisters: Marcie (Thomas) Jost, Malone WI; Mary Jane Gerhartz, Kewaskum WI; Martha Hemauer, Mt. Calvary WI; and Theresa Hemauer, Stockbridge WI; one brother, Andy B. (Anne) Hemauer, Chilton WI; a sister-in-law, Peggy Hemauer, Stockbridge WI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Gil was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Raymond Hemauer; and a brother-in-law, Gary Gerhartz.
    Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Lawrence Seminary Chapel (301 Church Street) in Mt. Calvary, WI followed by burial and luncheon. Friends may call at St. Lawrence Seminary Chapel from 4:00pm to 7:00pm followed by a service at 7:00pm on Friday, August 12, 2016 and on Saturday from 9:00am to 10:00am.

    Ray S. Hemauer, 67, Stockbridge, died on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at his home. He was born June 19, 1940, in Stockbridge, son of the late Gilbert & Veronica (Leitner) Hemauer. He married Peggy Wettstein on April 25, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Ray worked as a service manager for 42 years at the Buick-Pontiac Dealership in Chilton, serving under five different owners until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge where he was active in the choir. He was also a member of the Chilton & Stockbridge Lions Clubs, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing bingo, gardening, feeding the birds, walking by Lake Winnebago and picking blackberries and grapes for making wine. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed all of the activities they were involved in.
    Survivors include his wife and soulmate, Peggy; his children, Tim (Terri) Hemauer and their children, Cade, Braden, and Trista, Chilton; Lloyd (Cathy) Hemauer and their children, Jackie and Andi, Western Springs, Ill.; Dean (Tracy) Hemauer and their children, T.J., Hunter, and Hailey, Hilbert; Sheila (Hemauer) Vardell and special friend, Jeff Hebl, and Sheila's children, Amanda and Josh Vardell, New Holstein; and Don (Amy) Hemauer and their children, Brittni, Nathan, Megan and Justin, Appleton; siblings, Fr. Gil Hemauer, Miles City, Mont.; Mary Jane Gerhartz, Kewaskum; Marcie (Tom) Jost, Malone; Martha Hemauer, Mt. Calvary; Theresa Hemauer, Stockbridge; and Andy (Anne) Hemauer, Chilton. Ray is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Daniel Hemauer; a brother, Don Hemauer; a brother-in-law, Gary Gerhartz; and his godchild, Kyle Hemauer.
    Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and again at the Church in Stockbridge on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A parish vigil service will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
