    David J. Menting, 47, New London, passed away unexpectedly while fishing on the Wolf River on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008. He was born on July 16, 1961, in Appleton, the son of Donald and Audrey (Piechocki) Menting. On Nov. 17, 2005, he was united in marriage to Patricia Troudt in Appleton. David formerly worked as a finish carpenter for Rozelle Construction in Appleton for 16 years. He was currently employed at Sara Lee Foods in New London.
    David is survived by his wife, Patricia; his mother, Audrey Menting, Appleton; four brothers, Donald Menting, La Crosse; Terry Menting, New London; Kurt (Diane) Menting, California; Travas (Brenda) Menting, Seymour; three step-daughters, Cheyenne Troudt, Breanna Troudt, Maggie Rodriguez, all of Waupaca; also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
    The Funeral Service for David will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with the Rev. Lucretia Fehrmann officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
    A memorial fund has been established.
