    Churches Usher In Yule Spirit With Programs Gift Service to be Feature Of Forest Junction Parish This Weekend Special to Post-Crescent Forest Junction - A gift service under Sunday school auspices at Zion Evangelical church Sunday evening will usher in a week of Christmas festivities in this community. Gift bearers from 22 classes of the school take principal parts in the service which includes a candle exercise in which the Spirit of Christmas, the Spirit or Service, and the Spirit of Love are personified, respectively, by Misses Ruth Stanelle, Esther Stebane, and Anna Luckow, and chorus selection will be supplied by classes taught by Oscar Ott, Mrs. Leonard Seybold, and Mrs. Albert Schubring, Readings "No Room" and "The Lighted Candle in the Window" will be given by Mrs. H. M. Zick and Arno Stanelle. The Rev. W. L. Zeller will speak.

    Gordon F. McChain, Jr.
    Gordon F. McChain, Jr., 70, of Glenbeulah and formerly of the Washington County area, was gently handed to the Lord by his family on Sunday, May 17, 2009.
    He was born on April 30, 1939, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Gordon F. and Ruth F. (Stanelle) McChain, Sr.
    On January 8, 1961, he was united in marriage to Rosa Ann DeShazer at Fort Wolters, TX.
    Gordon was a graduate of Kewaskum High School.
    He proudly served his country in the US Army for over 20 years, retiring on June 30, 1978, as a CW2. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts and was stationed overseas and throughout the United States.
    After his retirement from the military, the McChain family made their home near the West Bend area and Gordon was employed by the Veteran's Administration for 20 years. After retiring from the VA, Gordon and Rosa Ann enjoyed ten years of recreational vehicle traveling, and Gordon worked part-time at Wal-Mart.
    Gordon was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Rosa Ann; four children, Timothy T. McChain (Tammy) of Woodbridge, VA, Ruth A. McChain of Kewaskum, Nancy D. Zettler (Chad) of West Bend and Debra N. (Garett) Mielkie of Kewaskum; eight grandchildren, Gregory (Amanda), Julia, Laura, Robert (Jessica), Savannah, Morgan, Breanna and Justin; two brothers, James McChain of Kewaskum and David (Betsy) McChain of Milwaukee, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends from coast to coast, including Hawaii.
    In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a brother, Russell L. McChain and a sister-in-law, Gloria McChain.
    Funeral services for Gordon will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. Rev. Gail Mitchell will officiate and burial, with military graveside rites by the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, will follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday, May 21 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or charity of one's choice are appreciated.
    The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Gordon's arrangements.
