    Heilman, Lorraine M. (Steger), Kaukauna, Lorraine M. Heilman (Steger), age 92, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011. She was born on December 6, 1918 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Anna (Christensen) Steger. Lorraine was united in marriage to Carl W. Heilman on August 10, 1946 in Kaukauna, he preceded her in death on December 16, 2002. She worked for Zwicker Knitting Mills, retiring to take on the adventure of traveling with Carl to many places. Lorraine enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for the Christmas Holiday for both families.
    She is survived by her sister, Marian Lambie, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Steger, Kaukauna and Darlene Steger, Appleton and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, an infant sister, Anna, brother and sister-in-law, Don (Harriet) Steger, sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Art) Deeg; brothers: Joseph and Robert Steger, and a brother-in-law, Stanley Lambie, as well as many members of the Heilman family.
    Funeral Service's for Lorraine will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna with Rev. Timothy Albrecht officiating. Friends will be received directly at church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.

    Marian K. (Steger) Lambie, Kaukauna, age 93, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at American Grand with her family by her side. She was born March 26, 1920 in Kaukauna the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Christensen) Steger Sr. Marian was a 1938 Kaukauna High School Graduate. From 1940 to 1951 she worked for Kaukauna Machine/Giddings and Lewis. On July 1, 1950 Marian married Stanley Lambie. The couple met at the Nightingale Ballroom where Stanley was a ticket taker and Marian was a coat checker. They farmed in the area their entire married lives. Marian was very proud of being bookkeeper for the farm for over 50 years. Stanley preceded her in death on August 25, 2003 after 53 years of marriage. Marian enjoyed traveling with friends, enjoyed bowling, was a "big time" Brewers fan and loved listening to Bob Uecker announce the game. Marian was a lifetime member of Peace United Methodist Church.
    She is survived by her children: Bruce Lambie (special friend Sue Matheys), Janet (Mark) Huss, Nancy (Dave) Engelhardt and Brian (Mary) Lambie; her grandchildren: Chrissy Lambie, Katie (Jay) Kunstman, Gina Lambie, Bradley Lambie, Scott (Brenda) Huss, Carrie (Aaron) Saks, Jenny (Jeff) Newcomer, Mike Damro (special friend Vennessa Sanchez), Natalie Damro, Kristin Engelhardt (special friend Bob Voight), Taycie (Paul) Schmidt, Chad Lambie and Aaron Lambie; her 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Darlene Steger, Betty Jane Steger, and Georgia Arndt; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her step-grandson, Jesse Engelhardt, 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law: Anna in infancy, Lorraine (Carl) Heilman, Betty (Arthur) Deeg; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law: Donald (Harriet) Steger, Robert Steger Sr. and Joseph Steger Jr.

    Betty D. Deeg, age 84, of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at ManorCare with her daughter at her side. Betty was born February 24, 1923, in Kaukauna, the daughter of Joseph, Sr. and Anna (Christensen) Steger. She was united in marriage to Arthur G. Deeg in Appleton on May 13, 1944. He preceded her in death June 24, 1978. Betty was a homemaker and lived in the Fox Valley all of her life. For the past several years she lived at the Appleton Retirement Community (formerly Angelus).
    She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, and was a Red Hat Lady. Betty loved playing cards, especially sheepshead, and playing bingo. She enjoyed going on the many outings with her friends and staff from Appleton Retirement Community, and participating in many activities.
    Betty is survived by her son, Bill (Karen) Deeg, Menasha; and her daughter, Sue (Dave) Wachtendonk, Appleton; her grandchildren: Craig Deeg, Cheri (Wil) Baye, Ryan Deeg, Mandy (Matt Hauser) Wachtendonk, Justin (Sarah) Wachtendonk, Dan (Rose) Deeg, Scott (Diana) Deeg, Debbie (Shawn) Bethay, and Carmen Deeg; there are eight great-grandchildren and her ninth great-grandchild is expected in June; her sisters: Marion Lambie and Lorraine Heilman; her brothers: Joe (Dar) Steger and Bob (Betty Jane) Steger; her sister-in-law, Mary Deeg; and other relatives and friends.
    Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Art; her son, Dennis; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Harriet Steger; her brothers-in-law: Carl Heilman and Stan Lambie; as well as many members of the Arthur Deeg family.
    Funeral services for Betty will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, downtown chapel, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Betty's name is being established by her family.

    Joseph Steger, 80, Appleton, died peacefully at Cherry Meadows on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, after a short battle with leukemia. He was born June 27, 1930 in Kaukauna, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Christianson) Steger. Joseph married the light of his life Darlene "Dar" (Grimmer-Schultz) on May 2, 1980.
    Joseph retired in 1992 with 44 years of service at Thilmany/International Paper. He started as a fifth hand on the paper machines. Later he became the Accounting Clerk, and in 1961 promoted to Budget Director. In 1996 he was promoted again to Manager of Costs and Budgets. He was a member of the Thilmany Quarter Century Club and the Thilmany Management Association. In 1993, Joseph started working part-time for Banta Corporation /R.R. Donnelly where he worked as an accountant until March 14, 2011. Joseph served as President of the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce and also on the Kaukauna School Board. He was a member of the Grand Chute Lions, and a Mason for over 50 years, currently with the Appleton Lodge No. 349.
    Joseph is survived by his loving wife: Darlene; children: Bill Steger, Kaukauna and Joette Steger, Raleigh, North Carolina; his step-children: Michael (Dawn) Grimmer, Appleton and Julie Green, Kaukauna; four step-grandchildren: Justin, Aimee, Emma and Dominick. He is also survived by his siblings: Lorraine Heilman and Marion Lambie, both from Kaukauna; brothers-in-law: Roger (Genevieve) Schultz, Winter Haven, Florida; Ralph (Nicole) Schultz, Appleton and Jerry (Barb) Schultz, Butte Des Morts; sisters-in-law: Shirl Schultz, Appleton and Betty Jane Steger, Kaukauna; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
    Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Anna Steger; siblings: Robert Steger Sr., Donald (Harriet Hammen) Steger, Betty (Arthur) Deeg, Anna May Steger, Karl Heilman and Stanley Lambie; mother and father-in-law: Edward and Beatrice Schultz and brother in-law; Edward Schultz Jr.
    Joseph was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He showed expressions of love in simple ways that made everyone happy around him. He always listened and gave great advice. Mostly he instilled good morals and infinite wisdom. Always with a smile, he gave generously to charities and those less fortunate. An avid Republican, he enjoyed family trips, especially to Las Vegas, and playing video poker. He loved playing cards on Thursdays with close friends and getting together to play golf with his buddies. The Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers were his favorites. He was a wonderful and loving husband and father, and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
    The memorial service for Joseph will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton, with Dr. Doyle Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    Special thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows for all of your love and compassion, and to the caring nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Our family appreciates you.
    Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Joe, may your journey into Heaven be as lucky as your video poker wins you had on earth. You indeed are a great American!

    Obituary:
    On February 6th, 2011 after a three year battle, cancer took the life of Bob at Cherry Meadows Hospice Center in the loving arms of his wife, children and grandchildren. Bob was born on February 23rd, 1933 to the late Joseph and Anna (Christianson) Steger in Kaukauna. He was a 1952 graduate of Kaukauna High School where he earned athletic letters in football, basketball and baseball. Bob was a true follower of the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts over the years. On September 25th, 1954, Bob married Betty Jane Ann at St. Mary's Parish in Kaukauna. Bob and Betty Jane were married for fifty-six years and were members of St. Aloysius Parish in Kaukauna. Bob was a papermaker for Thilmany Pulp and Paper for forty-five years, retiring in 1995. He was an avid sports fan and loved attending Green Bay Packers and University of Wisconsin Badger games since the 1950's. He also loved following the Brewers, Cubs, and the Bucks. Bob also served as director of the Kaukauna Athletic Club for over 20 years.
    Bob is survived by his loving wife Betty Jane; his son Robert Jr. (Jane) Steger and grandson, John Steger, all of Kaukauna; daughter Debbie (Lance) Driessen and grandchildren Sam Driessen and Katie Driessen (special friend Adam Jenner), all of Stevens Point; and daughter Sara Grode (fiancé Kristian Lee) and grandchildren Allison Anna Grode and Aaron Grode, all of Madison. He is also survived by his siblings Lorraine Heilman, Marion Lambie and Joe (Dar) Steger; and Betty Jane's sisters Joan Blumreich and Nancy (Karl) Frank, along with many other relatives and friends.
    Preceding him in death were his parents Joseph and Anna Steger; siblings Donald (Harriet Hammen) Steger, Betty (Arthur) Deeg, Anna May Steger, Karl Heilman, and Stanley Lambie; in-laws Gordon and Loretta (Rademacher) Nettekoven, Jon Blumreich; and grandchildren Matthew Charles Grode and Mark Robert Grode.
    The funeral liturgy for Bob will be held on Friday, February 11th, 2011 at 12:00 PM at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Aloysius Church), 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at noon. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kaukauna.
    Our gratitude and sincere thanks to Dr. Mortara, Patricia Martins, Dr. Swanson, the nurses, staff and volunteers at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, Theda Clark at Home Hospice and Theda Clark Cherry Meadows Hospice Care facility.
