    Lois R. (Ballard) Litscher, Appleton, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, October 13, 2009, following a brief illness. She was born in Appleton on October 2, 1919, daughter of the late Harry P. and Gretta Ballard. Lois graduated from Appleton High School in 1937. She was married to Al J. Litscher on August 2, 1941.
    Lois enjoyed the 20 years preceding Al's death living on Shawano Lake. Her interests included gardening and crocheting afghans and baby blankets for many family members. Lois is survived by her children Tom (Carolyn) Litscher; Chute Pond; Judy Litscher, Milwaukee; and Nancy L. Shilling, Johnson City, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jeff Litscher; Shawn (Sally) Litscher, Tim (Pam) Litscher, Melissa (Scott) Skarban, Jeff (Patty) Shilling, Bridget (Mitch) Shilling King, Tosya Shilling; and her 8 great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Al; and her brothers, James Ballard, Paul Ballard, and Don Ballard.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, 930 East Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name to benefit Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

    Age 58 passed away suddenly at home Saturday April 22, 2006. He was born on June 26, 1947 in Appleton to Paul K. and Emily C. (Kons) Ballard. Kenneth married LuAnn Zuberbier on May 28, 1992 at Bethlahem Lutheran Church, Hortonville. He was a lifetime resident of Appleton and loved fishing with his son, camping, gardening and golfing on Chaska Golf Course. Kenneth also enjoyed leisure time playing sheepshead, juggling, or sipping a fine glass of wine on the back porch while bird watching. He cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter Maeson. As the oldest boy, he was thoughtful and generous to all family members and the very best big brother.
    Kenneth is survived by his wife: LuAnn; his son Klint Ballard of Appleton; stepchildren: Craig (Lori) Voight of Freedom; Kevin (Kate) Voight of Freedom; Kelly (Dan) Wilda of Appleton; siblings: Virginia (Merle) Hauser of Vero Beach, FL; Karen (John) Atten of Fox Island, WA; JoAnne (Doug) Koplien of Venice, FL; Dennis (Debbie) Ballard of Appleton; James (Agnes) Ballard of Cheney, WA; Marge Barndt and special friend Stuart Elmer of Verona, WI; Steve (Patricia Porras) Ballard of Appleton; Barbara (Dave Wuestenberg) Ballard of Menasha; Cathrine (Donn) Remmel of Fremont; Michael Ballard of Appleton; step-grandchildren: Alexis Liles and Maeson Wilda.
    He is preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Emily Ballard.
    Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday April 25 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, North Highway 47, Town of Center with Pastor Jeffrey Suhr officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of service at the Church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is being established.

    Beverly J. Houle, Appleton, age 55, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at her home in Appleton. Beverly was born on October 25, 1952, in Appleton, the daughter of Don "Bud" and Armella "Connie" (Kons) Ballard. Beverly graduated from Appleton East High School in 1971. She worked as a caregiver for an in home care establishment and also for the Appleton YMCA, where she had many friends, especially her good friend, Terri. Beverly had a passion for working outdoors in her garden and had a green thumb for plants. She also enjoyed shopping at local thrift stores, playing Scrabble, watching Packer games and different court television programs like "Judge Judy" and keeping up with the latest news in the celebrity lifestyles.
    Beverly is lovingly survived by her mother, Armella "Connie" Ballard; her children: Chris (Becky) Bellis, Dale; Jason (Donna) Bellis, Appleton; Leah Bellis, Appleton; grandchildren: Celia and Ava; brother, Joseph (Linda) Ballard; sister, Valerie (Gary) DuChateau and many nieces and nephews. Beverly is further survived by her extended family: Mom, "Myrtle" Bellis, Cindy and Bud Bellis.
    Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Don "Bud" Ballard, whose birthday we celebrate on the same day as Beverly's passing. We are comforted in knowing Beverly is with her father on his special day. Beverly's family would also like to extend their thanks and love to Beverly's special friends, Ben "Elvis" Houle, Marianne and Linda.
    Funeral Services for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at 6 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Yvonne at Affinity Hospice for all her care and support.
