    Obituary:
    JoAnn Mae Schultz, Appleton, age 79, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Monday evening, May 10th, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 14, 1931, in rural New London, the sixth child of William and Mabel (Morack) Giesen. JoAnn graduated from Hortonville High School with the class of 1948. On June 4, 1955, she married Daniel J. Schultz at St. Therese Catholic Church. During 55 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 children: Kurt (Special friend Nancy Freude), Oshkosh, Toni (Mark) Shepherd, Winneconne, and Teri (Mark) Woessner, Estero, FL.
    She was employed at Zwickers and Pranges. JoAnn especially enjoyed their family cottage on Legend Lake where she loved the boat rides and fishing on the beach. She enjoyed her annual trip to Teri's in Florida and was a talented crafter and gardener. JoAnn also golfed in the flower golf league and had a wonderful bridge club group. In addition, JoAnn was a Past President of Unit 38 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her husband; three children; brother Lester (Shirley) Giesen; sister, Dorothy (Don) Wilkinson; three brothers in law: Vernon (Elaine) Garvey, John (Joan) Schultz, and Tom "Red" Schultz (fiance Judy); two sisters in law: Bernice and Jane Giesen; and her special friends Gloria Krull and Cathy Brown.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Ruth (Sylvester) Hanson and Emily Garvey; three brothers: John, Lawrence and William Jr., and sister in law Joanne Schultz.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with Father Bob Lexa officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Baum, the caring and compassionate staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Rennes Rehab Center, and to family and friends for their prayers, support, and thoughtful acts of kindness throughout this difficult time.
