    Obituary:
    Ervin C. Ulman, 87, of Greenville died Thursday July 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1924, son of the late Carl and Emma (Wiegelt) Ulman. Ervin married Virginia LaPlante on May 9, 1953.
    Ervin served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and Virginia are life members of St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenville. Ervin worked for several local businesses over the years including, Noffke Brothers, Berg & Henn Co; Miller Electric, Oscar Boldt Co; and Korth Towing. After retiring he volunteered at the Hortonville Food Pantry in Dale for 20 years. Ervin was a member of the Greenville Civic Club and 4-H B Square. He enjoyed his card parties at the Greenville Grange.
    Ervin is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia; five children, Ted Ulman, Greenville, Tom Ulman, Greenville, Rose (Tom) Schroeder, Appleton, Allen Ulman, Alaska, and Mary Ulman (special friend, Jeff Bogenschutz), Greenville; eight grand children, Anna, Michelle, April (Kyle), Jenny, Carl, Brandon (Stephanie), Andrew, and Matthew; two great-grand children, Charlotte, and Maggie; a sister, Ethel (Harvey) Beyer, Greenville; brother-in-law, Eugene LaPlante; sister-in-law, Kathleen LaGault, Appleton; and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Groeschel, and Ella Henning; brother, Earl; grandson, Christopher; and a daughter-in-law, Carol.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday July 16, 2012 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH (N2385 Municipal Drive, HWY 76, Greenville), with Fr. Daniel Felton officiating. Visitation will be at the church tomorrow, Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Monday beginning at 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Hammond-Schmidt American Legion Post #55, Hortonville. Online condolences may be made at www.valleyfh.com

    Ethel E. Beyer, age 86, of Greenville, entered her Heavenly Home in the arms of her loving husband with her daughters at her side on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, following a brief illness. Ethel was born July 23, 1926, in the Town of Dale, to the late Carl and Emma (Wiegelt) Ulman. After graduating from Appleton West High School in 1943, she continued her education at Outagamie Normal in Kaukauna. Upon completing the program, she taught at Center Valley School. It was at the beginning of her career and after dances at the Cinderella Ballroom that she met and married her loving husband Harvey on February 15, 1947, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Ethel spent the next 8 years raising a family and then resumed her teaching career at other one room schools in the Greenville area. She spent the next several years teaching in Hortonville and Neenah district schools. Ethel was a very dedicated teacher and instrumental in originating teaching programs (CESA) to meet the individual needs of her students. She retired from teaching in 1990. Always a teacher and concerned community member, Ethel stayed active in the Mount Olive Ladies Aide, Greenville Homemakers, Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, and was dedicated to the Center Valley Grade School. She recently conducted tours at the school for many area schoolchildren and enjoyed meeting with her Appleton HS classmates. Her hobbies included her vegetable garden, flowers, raspberries, and an occasional stray cat that appeared at her doorstep with its kittens. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, helping them to learn and grow in their lives.
    Ethel is survived by her loving husband, Harvey and five daughters, Barbara Rohloff, Appleton, Bonnie Frost, Newport Beach, CA, Brenda (Dan) Madden, New London, Beverly (Wayne) Eichhorn, Muskego, and Becky (Chuck) Otis, New London. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Rayleen Beyer, Ukiah, CA. She was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Leonard (Bernice) Beyer, Roy Conant, sisters-in-law, Patricia Beyer, Virginia Ulman.
    Ethel was preceded in death by her son Bruce, brother Ervin Ulman, sisters Esther (Henry) Groeschel and Ella (Henning) Conant, infant brother Earl, and great-grandson Tyler Otis.
    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at AMC ICU and Oncology departments, and ThedaCare Home Hospice.

    Neenah - Norman Henry Groeschel, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was born in Appleton on May 30, 1940, to the late Henry and Esther (Ulman) Groeschel. On August 7, 1977, he married Shirley P. Zettler. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing in Canada, hunting, playing cards, and shooting pool. He worked at Stokley's Canning Factory, Hortonville; Valley Ready-Mix, Appleton; L&N Construction; and Neenah Foundry.
    Norman is survived by his wife Shirley, children: James Groeschel, Steven Groeschel, Sandra (Terry) Davis, Susan Ritchie, Timothy (Mandi) Groeschel, and Norman Groeschel Jr., 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters: Robert Groeschel, Merlin (Florence) Groeschel, Marcella (Dave) Kluchesky, LeRoy (Sudy) Groeschel, Ken (Mary Ann) Groeschel, Maxine (Leonard) Grewe, JoAnn (Jerry) Booth, Janet (Jerry) Stephani, Jerry (Deb) Groeschel, and Tony (Jodi) Groeschel. He is further survived by many other family and friends.
    Norman was preceded in death by his son, Carl Groeschel and his grandchildren, Zachary and Megan Carew.
    The funeral for Norman will be held at 1:00 p.m on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the WICHMANN LAEMMRICH CHAPEL, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
